HA vs homebridge

Have an Eisy with all insteon devices and a few kasa switches.  As well as Unifi protect camera system.  I want to get everythign running on homekit so I can use my apple tv and have things like carplay show me my garage door opener when I get close to home.

It seems like the way is to use either home assistant or homebridge on a linux box as an inbetween but how do I decide which to go with?
