Unable to Run Start.jnlp

Featured Replies

Posted

I run the upgrade packages from the configuration tab on my eisy.  Got the message to reboot which I did.  I cleared java cache (all 3 boxes checked) while system was rebooted.  I then downloaded the a new start.jnlp file. (https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp).

When I try to run the start.jnlp file I am asked what program to use.  I told it to open with javaws.exe but nothing happens.

I am on Windows 11

Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Verify that you have the latest Java version, 1.8.0_45

Try clearing your Java cache again, then download the IoX Launcher. The launcher should automatically open the Admin Console without having to ask you what program to use

Techman,

Before I started all of this I save my iox launcher icon on my desktop to a folder I keep for emergencies.  I brought that icon back to my desktop and I am able to connect to my eisy now.

Techman,

Since I couldn't run start.jnlp, I didn't have a IOX Launcher created.

I just now looked at my one save in my backup directory and see the target field shows "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_451\bin\javaws.exe" -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=https://isy.universal-devices.com/launcher/isy.jnlp "C:\Users\Joel\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\14\7f87040e-2e6e8a70"

Techman,  Thanks for all your help.  I followed the instructions from your post and after going through my java settings and setting it up according to the article, I was able to create an IoX Launcher on my desktop.  All is great.

Again many thanks for your assistance.
