disabling a "busy" motion detector node?

Featured Replies

I'm mainly using the Envisalink-DSC plugin to monitor door openings, but I also have several DSC motion detectors that created nodes in EISY. The motion detectors create frequent and numerous events which I don't know if that is an issue or not for the EISY in terms of some sort of network traffic (forgive me but I'm not a techie or programmer so I'm probably not using the right terminology here). So if I have no plans to use info from the alarm system motion detector nodes, is there any way to disable them? I tried to disable them through the admin console but that disabled all the nodes under the alarm system. Also, is excessive EISY traffic inefficient in any way, or am I off base here? Thanks for your help!

You can delete the nodes for the motion detector zones in the Admin Console or in the PG3 Dashboard, but they will reappear each time you restart the plugin.

As far as excessive traffic, what are we talking about hear? Several times a second? Every 5 seconds? Every 30 seconds? How many are there?

Alternatively, reconnect the motion detector zones so they are the last zones in numerical order then set the “numzones” Custom Configuration Parameter so that they are excluded from the nodes created at the start of the plugin.

I have 10 or 12 motion sensors used for both alarming and triggering room lights when not armed and they work fine with the plugin... no problems
