Rebuild corrupt files

Featured Replies

My eisy event viewer has a message DB: cannot load ./FILES.CONF. 1924B9.REC. If I restore from my last backup it goes away but I replaced a couple of devices since then. Is there a way to just replace the file?

I solved this problem:

I replaced the PLM , no change. I had an instance of Home Assistant running so I installed the Insteon integration and plugged it into the PLM. It only found 10 devices so I surmised that the eisy was not linking all of the devices in my network. While staring at the event viewer level 3 I noticed some messages about missing links. I downloaded the event files to a text editor and searched for "LINK-INFO" and found 3 devices with missing links. I removed, relinked, and recreated any effected scenes and the DB:cannot open messages went away. I suspect that any time a scene is called with missing links the DB: messages show up but I fixed all of the offending device before I could verify. I also suspect that the old PLM is weak.

The symptom that made me troubleshoot this problem was unexpected behaviors that became worse with time. A reboot would clear them up for a while but new things would crop up with time.

I miss my isy. It ran without trouble for a long time and I only replaced it when it went out of support. I understand the UDI is trying to remain relevant as technology moves on but I feel the eisy is not ready for prime time. It still does things that no other devices can do in the Insteon world but I am frustrated by the numerous problems I have had with it.
