<edit: this is v.5.3.4 on a 994i PRO >

I'm trying to debug my system (many devices do not show up in the admin console).

I start the IoX Finder (running "start.jnlp"); then click the ISY line that is found, and select "admin console". Many of my devices do not show up (see screen shot). I've had this system evolving for maybe 30 years, moving from X10 to Insteon, and commensurate PLM changes and moving to the ISY994i.

In an effort to debug my issues I've been playing with looking at the logs. I notice that some (all?) error lines show the device name, then 'Error' and then 0.00000000000000000000000000 repeating for about 125 characters. (see second screen shot)

I'm sure this is not my problem and is probably just a formatting error in the software, but it makes searching for problems the tiniest bit more difficult. Can someone look into that?

I also notice that if I opt to view the log file (but not the error log file) I'm prompted to view the log in Excel. If I choose that, LibreOffice Calc is started, but no data is pushed in. I can say NO to the excel viewing, and I just get a file (which is fine). If I try to view the error log file, I'm not given the Excel option, just the file option. It would be nice if this were consistent and worked properly.

Your screenshot shows a lot of communication issues. Right click in the devices with the red exclamation point then cick on write updates. If that doesn't resolve the issue than right click on the device and then click on restore device. On battery operated devices first put them, only one at a time, into linking mode then try the above.

If your problems persist then you either have a failing PLM or something that's creating noise on your powerline. It's also possible that your ISY994 SD card is failing. You can try removing it and then clean its contacts with a soft eraser. Remove power before removing the SD card

After you reslove your communication issues take a look at your log to see if the "0000000" cleared up.

You should also clear your java cache, be sure to check all 3 boxes, then download the IoX Launcher from here:

What does "write updates" actually do?

I have not checked each device that shows a warning flag but it seems to have at least resolved some of those red exclamations!

Write updates writes the link tables stored in the ISY to the device.

The devices with the 1011 in the left margin means there is a mismatch between the device and the ISY.
