PLM and ISY links tables out of synch

Somehow I messed up the PLM and ISY links tables. I did a "restore modem (PLM)" and it didn't fix it this time. So I did a "delete modem (PLM)". Now everything seems messed up and current states aren't updated automatically.

I'm running 2.8.6. Isn't there an easy way to keep or get them in synch? Do I have to start from scratch by deleting all the devices?

I'm new to the ISY world but the instability of the system is frustrating me.

Hi vandede,

What do you mean you messed up the link tables? What are the symptoms?

You don't need to restore a backup but you do need to use Restore Modem. This will put back all the links Remove Modem deleted.

Rand,

I am not trying to get in between you and John Chris but what you just posted and what John posted (follow the link I posted to John's post) are at complete odds with each other.

Excert from full post by John Chris ....

Remove PLM

Use this with care because the only way to get this back is to restore a backup, and then do restore devices.

This removes all links to the PLM from all of your devices.

Hi Lee,

If the ISY had been reset then you would need to Restore ISY from a backup. As long as the ISY still knows of all the links the PLM should have it will recreate them in the PLM and all devices.

Most often Remove PLM is used by installers who will take the ISY/PLM to another site to use with different devices. Thus Chris's comment to Restore ISY from a backup.

Rand,

Thanks for the update. I'm still not sure about vandede situation. He did a Remove/Delete Modem. Does the ISY still have all the link information about the deleted PLM such that a Restore Modem will restore the configuration despite the Remove/Delete Modem being performed (assuming the ISY was not reset)?

Hi Lee,

Yes, the ISY should still have all the link information if it hasn't been reset.

I don't believe a backup file contains a PLM links table but that the table is created from the devices and scenes.
