Zellarman
We all know the ISY (26 or 99) communicates via a PowerLinc Modem, though the hardwire connction between the two varies depending on wheter it's for a 26 or 99 (either serial or RJ 45?) but that's the connection to the ISY, and since I have neither an ISY or a Modem, I know nothing about the connection to the Modem. So, who can tell me? I was wondering if it's the same kind of plug that goes into a PowerLinc Controller (I have a 2414U) can the PLC be used in place of the modem? As I said I don't have an ISY yet, but I'll be getting one soon and was wondering if I might be able to skip the purchase of a modem. Link to comment
MikeB
You must use a PLM with either ISY. Link to comment
Mark Sanctuary
This discussion always goes big when it comes up so here is the simplest answer I can think of. PLM == modem PLC == modem & controller (in one package) PLM + ISY == modem & controller (in separate packages) Link to comment
