Program KPL to turn heat on/off

Is it possible to use a single button on my kpl to turn my heat on and off? How would this be accomplished?

When warm weather rolls back around, I'd like to use the same button to turn the AC on and off.

I have a Venstar with the Insteon dongle.

Thanks!

I am not sure that it's possible and I don't think I would go that route to control your HVAC. The KPL buttons provide and ON/OFF toggle essentially, but the t-stat mode has Off/Auto/Program Auto/Heat/Cool modes. I do not see a way you can have a scene that controls all 5 modes.

It should be possible to use a scene with the KPL that runs a program in the ISY based on prescribed conditions. When the KPL is off, the t-stat is off. When on, the t-stat could be in one or any of the other modes you want to specify.

Better yet, I'd suggest you get an iphone/smartphone. Then you can have fingertip control of your HVAC where ever you are.

That is what I'm looking to do.

I already have an iPhone and use Mobilinc. I'd just like to be able to turn the heat on/off as I walk in/out the door.
