2440 Motion Detector's LED

I have a v2 motion detector that works just fine in my carport. However, I'd like the LED to not flash when it detects motion. I have tried both jumper 2 and using the Set Options panel on the Admin Console to turn off the LED. In testing on the workbench, both methods seem to work and yet when I put the detector back in its place in carport, the LED starts flashing again. It is a little frustrating.

Anyone had a similar problem or know what stupid thing I might be doing (or more likely not doing)?

Jumper 2 has no affect when Jumper 5 is in place. Jumper 5 must be in place to support the ISY setting the LED configuration.

Does the Motion Sensor LED flash once when motion is detected or multiple times?

If multiple times the motion sensor is having communications problems with one or more of the responders linked to the motion sensor. Blinking multiple times indicating a communications problem happens even if the LED has been turned Off.

That makes very good sense, the location in the carport is not far away from an AP but it might be bouncing the signal around because of some barriers. I wasn't thinking of a communication issue as I was getting a good motion indication every time I tested it but maybe it is not seeing the response. On the bench, I have a dual bank outlet inches away from where I test.

And yes, when I tried jumper 2, I did remove jumper 5. I was trying to see if doing it locally had any difference than using the ISY-99.

I don't have a readily available solution to my problem but at least I know the problem now.

Thanks again,
