EX Flora Command Ignore / Lost

Recommended Posts

I have one EZ Flora in a medium sized Insteon configuration. About 100 Insteon devices, plus an ISY-99, 4 Access Points, a fair number of dual band switches /relays, etc etc.

The following program would not get past Zone 1 watering:

IF:

CONTROL Control Linc – 4 is switched ON

THEN:

Set Scene Zone 1 ON

Wait 15 minutes

Set Scene Zone 1 OFF

Set Scene Zone 2 ON

Wait 15 minutes

Set Scene Zone 2 OFF

Set Scene Zone 3 ON

Wait 15 minutes

Set Scene Zone 3 OFF

Removed 2 of the OFF commands and all zones watered for 15 minutes as expected, and Zone 3 is turned off after 15 minutes.

IF:

CONTROL Control Linc – 4 is switched ON

THEN:

Set Scene Zone 1 ON

Wait 15 minutes

Set Scene Zone 2 ON

Wait 15 minutes

Set Scene Zone 3 ON

Wait 15 minutes

Set Scene Zone 3 OFF

I realized the OFF command was redundant for the Zones 1 & 2, but I didn’t think it would hurt anything. Apparently that is not the case. Can anyone explain what I have missed???

I ran this test successfully on 3.2.5.

What actually happened when the Program ran?

What ISY firmware?

Perhaps posting the actual Program and an Event Trace.

Thanks. It would be helpful to know what the Program | Summary is showing for the Program after the 15 minute Wait has elapsed.

My config is at the bottom of this note.

The EZ Flora address is: 19 BC C2

The program that is NOT working is attached, see file name: Watering Timer Progm Rev1

NOT working means only the first zone (Z22) comes on, then shuts off after 1 minute, and the next two zones do NOT come on.

The event viewer is: (Could have gotten more detail......but goofed)

The program that works fine is also attached, see file name: Watering Timer Progm Rev2

The event viewer for it is: (note the extraneous communication is a couple of Venstar Thermostats.)

Confirmed. The EZFlora is not processing the Scene On when it immediately follows a Scene Off. Adding a 1 second wait between the Scene Off and the next Scene On resolves the problem. Looks like the EZFlora is still processing the Scene Off when the next Scene On is received and ignored.

Update: direct Zone control works when a Zone Off precedes the next Zone On. With Direct Zone control each command is ACKed which may explain the difference between Direct Zone control and Scene Zone control result.
