SomeWhatLost
had to replace a couple switches that went bad, and add a new one... used new v.41 switchlinc relays... pretty much had issues right from the start... none of the 3 new relays would add to the isy by doing the "Link Management/add insteon" method that I am reasonably sure has work to add devices before... had to add them by doing a "Link Management/Start Linking" and then go press the switches until they beeped... when did they add a beep? all my other switch when I did this manually before ISY just blinked... also, I don't think I have had to manually do a link like that since I got my ISY, what changed? now they seem added, they will respond to commands from the ISY reliably, if you do a query they will reliably update with accurate status updates... so the 2 way communication part seems fine... but when you actually press the switch it wont update ISY with a status change, and it also does not seem able to trigger any other insteon device... and adding any of the three new switches to a scene doesn't seem to work either... I did a "File/Delete Modem" and then a "File/Restore Modem" to to rebuild the PLM to see if that would help, but it didn't... also after rebuilding the 3 relays had red !'s as their little icons on the console screen... I am guessing red !'s are bad? I then click on them and manually trigger a query and they turned into green arrows with "1011" in them... where can I find what the little icons mean? does anyone have any idea whats up with the v41 relay lincs? did I just get a bad batch that are cursed? LeeG
The SwitchLinc Relay is an I2CS device which requires 3.2.6. When you Deleted the PLM (should never be done unless contractor and removing PLM from site) it removed all reference to PLM. Doing a Restore PLM does not fix that. Restore a good backup that was taken before the PLM was Deleted. Then do a Restore Modem (PLM) with the good backup information.
SomeWhatLost
I already am running 3.2.6...
LeeG
Once you get the system back together after restoring a good backup and doing a Restore Modem (PLM), run Help | About to verify that Firmware and UI both indicate 3.2.6.
SomeWhatLost
ok, so I did the restore from back up, and then restore modem... now it is much worse... I can no longer toggle the relay from ISY... LeeG
Regardless of being better or worse the ISY had to be restored with a current backup with all the current devices and the PLM restored. When the PLM was deleted all link records in all devices that referenced the PLM were deleted and all references in ISY databases had the PLM removed. Restoring the ISY backup got the ISY information back and Restore Modem (PLM) should have restored the PLM all the device link records. The trace indicates the device is an I2CS device that had the references to the PLM deleted and not restored. Try a Restore Device for the device in the trace. SomeWhatLost
what a PITA, but thanks LeeG... everything is up and communicating again... well mostly... there is an outletlinc that is a bit hit or miss... seems my backup wasn't so good... had to delete/remove a bunch of devices (ie like 80% of them ) and then re-add them...
