Future Insteon Devices on the FCC Site

Thanks Brian,

Some of those pictures are kinda scary looking.

I see in the test report that it is a 230V 50hz test. I would expect Smartlabs would need to get a CE certification to sell in Europe? I wonder if they will be looked at a little closer for that?

An interesting note in the Conducted Emissions Test states:

" The light bulb for dimmer EUT is turned off because customer declares that when it is turned on, interference from triac dimmer circuitry would invalidate the readings of the conducted emissions test".

Certainly the emissions will be greater when the lamp is on due to the triac chopping the waveform. But isn't that part of "real world" operation? I am surprised they would allow that. Its not the bulb itself emitting, it is the fact that the device is powering a load.

biredale, The preliminary users manuals are part of the FCC filings. If you want to look at them.

ELA, Yes interesting.

I also noticed the hub needed some added filtering for the tests to pass. Though that may not be unusual. A machine we where FCC testing at work. Needed a different power line filter to pass.
