superjuice Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Greetings, I have a isy99ir pro and two dozen or so devices. I have a keypadlinc (non dimming) controlling the outside lights. I would like the top button to be all lights on, bottom all lights off, and one of the four buttons to toggle the outside lights on and off. Is this possible? Do I need to make a scene all on and a scene all off that includes all my devices? How do I get one of the four other buttons to control the switch instead of the top and bottom buttons? Up till now things have been pretty straight forward but this one is not so obvious. Thanks for any help!
LeeG Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 What is the firmware level of the KeypadLinc? The outside lights, are they connected to the Red Load wire of the KeypadLinc? Assuming they are, define an ISY Scene with all the other Insteon devices as Responders and the KeypadLinc Primary button as Controller. When ON button is press they will all turn On. When the OFF button is pressed they will all turn Off. Define another ISY Scene with the KeypadLinc Primary button as a Responder and whatever KeypadLinc Secondary button to toggle the KeypadLinc outside lights On/Off as a Controller. Pressing the Secondary KeypadLinc button should toggle the KeypadLinc load On/Off. This part may require 3.3.3 which will be released soon.
oberkc Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 To LeeGs response, be aware that the primary button WILL come on when the secondary button is pressed. This does not mean that the ALL LIGHTS scene will activate, but it may confuse someone who is relying on the primary button to indicate the status of the ALL LIGHTS scene.
LeeG Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks, the All Devices Scene should not be driven when the Secondary KeypadLinc button is toggled On/Off. I understand that the ON button LEDs being On will mean either all the devices are On or only the KeypadLinc load will be On but that is what the user asked for. The Secondary button LED will differentiate whether ON indicates All devices (Secondary button LED Off) or only KeypadLinc load On (Secondary button LED On).
superjuice Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Thanks! That worked great! Only other thing I had to do was add the other buttons to the all devices scenes so that the button back lights would go off with the all off signal.
