Techman
Does anyone know if the low battery signal gets sent out only once or continually until the battery is replaced. If continually, at what intervals? What seems to be the average battery life? Link to comment
LeeG
The low battery message is sent once. After battery is replaced, right click the Low Bat node and select Query. A Query command is NOT sent to the Motion Sensor as it is asleep. The Query request is how the ISY is directed to reset the Low Bat node from On to Off. I have no information on average battery life. Indoors or outdoors, number of motion trips, type of battery would be some of the variables. Link to comment
johnnyt
The Query request is how the ISY is directed to reset the Low Bat node from On to Off. So will the query all that runs at 3 AM and on a reboot reset a low bat? I ask because I've had them happen then disappear then a month later - maybe longer - the motion sensor stops working. The notifications were a bit premature, never happened again and I don't remember ever query them since I knew they wouldn't respond. Have kind of given up counting on them... Am hoping one day ISY will provide a last changed time stamp on devices for this and other reasons. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk Link to comment
LeeG
I don't think so. The 3AM Query is directed at the Sensor node. A Query command is not issued against any node as the MS is asleep but I think the Query request has to be issued against the Low Bat node for that node status to be changed from On to Off. Techman
Can the ISY configure the MS settings, i.e. sensitivity, remotely? Link to comment
LeeG
Sensitivity is the only MS option that cannot be set programmatically. Only the Jumper affects that. The other MS options can be set programmatically when Jumper 5 is in place and the MS has been put into linking mode with its Set button. Link to comment
