barkster Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I added a second thermostat today and was fixing to add a third but wanted to get this resolved first. After I added it added the thermostat and three other devices also associated with it. When added the first of course it didn't do that, only added the one thermostat. How do I fix this? I'm on firmware 3.2.1 Thanks You can see the first four objects are what was added.
LeeG Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I suggest updating to 3.3.5 RC2. The 3 Red nodes are Controller nodes associated with the thermostat. The can be used to control scenes related to the respective activity. The thermostat nodes can be grouped together my doing a right click on the main node and select Group Devices. Once on the latest ISY firmware Delete the other thermostat (single node) and add it back. It will have more than one node. How many nodes depends on the type of thermostat. The only exception would be if the other thermostat is a very old V1 which only supported one node.
barkster Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 so your saying both my thermostats should have the three extra nodes if they are v2's? if I click on one of the red nodes there are no options for them, that's normal? THanks
LeeG Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 How many nodes depends on which thermostat. A 2441TH has two additional Red Controller nodes, Heat and Cool. The Venstar thermostats have 3 Red Controller nodes, Heat, Cool and Fan. The Red Controller nodes can be Controllers of an ISY Scene. They can be used to trigger ISY Programs.
barkster Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 After I updated firmware and removed old thermostat and readded, both thermostat show and extra three nodes now for each but I don't see how they can be used. When you click on them they the only one that isn't blank is ac cool. Is this normal?
LeeG Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 These nodes can be Controllers in an ISY Scene to turn On/Off other Insteon devices. The conditions which the node represent have not occurred for the two that are blank. Like a TriggerLinc that has not been opened/closed yet or a Motion Sensor Dusk/Dawn node that has not yet seen a Dusk/Dawn transition.
barkster Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 ok thanks, I must not know about this feature. Guess I need to read up some more on what all this thing can do. Thanks for the help
