I want a light in my chicken coop to dim very slowly, say over a 15-minute period, down to off based on some program variables that I have set up. My understanding is that if I choose "Fade Down" the light will fade down to off over about a 5-second period. How can I cause the light to fade down over say a 15-minute period to allow the chickens to find their roosts and settle down before the light goes off?

Hi All, I seem to have picked up a corrupt scene on my ISY and I can't figure out how to delete it. When I right click to delete it in the admin console it won't delete it. Here is a screen shot. Any ideas? Here is a link to a screenshot since I can't use the image extension in my post. https://www.flickr.com/photos/97670248@N02/23496615200 Kerry

  3. Hi guys! My Garage opener broke (little gear on top sheared off) and I had to get a replacement, so I've got one of these Chamberlain models with MyQ and no way to control it via the normal contact closure. I know about soldering to the spare visor remote button but thought I'l try the software way first. So there is the simple python script that meant to be placed to /usr/lib/cgi-bin on your Pi (don't forget to do chmod +x) and called from ISY like this: To close: http://1.1.1.1/cgi-bin/myq-cgi.py?user=user@example.com&pass=secret1&cmd=close To open: http://1.1.1.1/cgi-bin/myq-cgi.py?user=user@example.com&pass=secret1&cmd=open If you wan…

Hello everyone. Just got my ISY set up and had a few programs going well. I couldn't get remote access though, so I was in the configuration section, fooling around with the network and ip address settings (first mistake). After making a few changes in areas that I had no business being in, I went to save and got a message that the ISY was going to reboot. I clicked "X" instead of "okay" to back out, but the unit still rebooted. I now have flashing lights on the ISY and I can no longer access my admin console, and the ISY finder just comes up blank, though programs still appear to be running. I'm assuming that I need to get back into the ISY and revert the settings bac…

I am having issues with my setup that I can't pinpoint. I have an ISY 994i Pro with an Insteon PLM. My ISY is randomly showing the incorrect status of my Insteon devices. Here are a few examples, Dining room light (dimmer switch) was on but ISY showed it as off. Christmas lights (outdoor module) sometimes don't turn on or off based on the program I set up. Garage status (garagelinc package) will show correct status when door opens but not always show close when the door is closed. Waterfall control (outdoor module) will randomly show a failure to connect to device but upon doing a query the ISY sees it no problem. Fanlinc showing fan is still on high when it was t…

I wanted to create a tracking poll to see how many people have been using the remote write device update feature in the 994 Series Controller. For those not familiar, Smartlabs introduced this feature in House Linc 2 long ago. When this feature is enabled any pending updates in the system will be pushed to the battery operated device most commonly the motion sensor. Since 4.2.X.X the 994 Series Controller has included this remote update feature in the programs section. As with the HL2 software, it required that the motion sensor be awaken by simply walking past the field of view of the sensor. Once this was done any pending writes would be pushed to the MS. Th…

I have a Totaline 1-day thermostat and an Insteon 2441V for about a year now. The last couple of weeks I'm seeing random heat on/off events that last only 2 minutes. The short time is because the setpoint minus dead band hasn't been met. So what is possibly causing this odd behavior: ISY994i, Thermostat, Insteon 2441V, PLM, RF noise? I copied the logfile below of the last event which just happened tonight and seems to happen at least once a day. I tried resetting the thermostat and also moved to v4.4.1 firmware but neither changed fixed anything. Sadly my PLM (2413s) died after about 2 1/2 years of service. That said, I purchased a new one and received it today. After plugging it in, I rebooted my ISY and promptly did a "Reatore Modem (PLM)". After completion, I noticed some issues. All of my battery powered devices, motion sensors and TriggerLinc's did not seem to update properly and my scenes no longer show specifics such as on level for each of the devices in the scene. I've also noticed that my ISY doesn't seem to be capturing the current state for certain devices. So, I decided to do a "Restore Devices", however my issues still remain. Any ideas as to what may have gone wrong or where I should go fr…

I noticed last night that my MobileLinc app could connect to my ISY-99i, and send/receive commands, but I couldn't actually change any of my Insteon scenes - nothing would happen. I opened the ISY-99i admin panel, and I was able to log in just fine, but the same thing for changing Insteon scenes/devices - If I change one, nothing actually happens. So, I figured something could be wrong with the PLM. I disconnected power to my PLM as well as the ISY-99i, waited 30 seconds or so, plugged in the PLM and then the ISY-99i. I'm now in a state where I can ping the IP of the ISY-99i just fine, but can't connect to the web interface at all. What do I do now?

Hi all, I wasn't sure where to post this, so I apologize if it's not in the correct forum. Lately I've been having intermittent outgoing connection issues with my ISY994i and I hope someone here can tell me where else to look or where the problem could be. I'm running the latest firmware 4.3.26, and everything else on the ISY has been running great. This issue just started maybe a month to a month and a half ago. The problem is, Pushover notifications, email notifications or text notifications will work fine most of the time, then suddenly quit working for a while or work intermittently. While manually testing during a failure, sometimes they will send,…

  11. I have recently upgraded from a computer using "HouseLink" to control my lights. I now have an ISY994i 256. I have two "Range Extender (Wireless Phase Coupler) [2443]" that was recognized by HouseLink and worked well; however, the ISY994i does not recognize the 2443 and cannot see it or add it to my devices. The 2443 is no longer available apparently. The details of my Controller: Model: ISY994i 256 Platform: ISY-C-994 Version: 4.3.26 Build Timestamp: 2015-10-13-11:35:11 Is there any way to use these devices are am I just out of luck and need to buy the new 2992-222 ???????? 13. I have a pretty good idea of how control vs status works in conjunction with physical switches, however I'm not sure how these commands apply to TriggerLinc's and motion sensors or if it makes no difference when used with these devices. I would appreciate some clarification on this topic... Thanks! Chuck

I tried to find more information on this topic, in the forum, but I couldn't find anything that specifically relates to my situation. Given the many threads on 3 way switch setups it's quite possible that there is one dealing with this so if anyone can direct me to another thread I would appreciate the link. My situation is that I have some lights on a stairway with switches at the top and the bottom. I installed a Dual Band Switchlinc Dimmer switch at the top and a Dual Band Switchlinc On/Off switch at the bottom. I then put them both into a scene with both devices as controllers. My issues are as follows... I cannot dim the lights at all! The scene has the On l…

  16. I've had it up for about 2 years. No issues .. trying to log into admin area and getting JAVA 2 required. I removed java, reloaded, emptied temp files .. nada .. happening on all 3 PC's. All now run Windows 10. Any help?

  17. Some time back I saw a post regarding a lamplinc or appliancelinc with very low voltage lights (like a single string of LED Christmas lights) that still stayed dimly lit even when they were "off". There was a comment that adding a resistor to a multi plug adapter would bring the amount of wattage up high enough to eliminate the issue. (Hope that isn't too confusing ) Does anyone know what size of resistor would work? Wattage/ohm etc.

Can I use an on/off module plugged into an on/off outlet (and control them independently)? Does this work or does the signal become too degraded to operate the on/off module after it's gone through the on/off outlet? I want to have two devices plugged into the bottom of the outlet. I would use a splitter to get these two devices on the bottom outlet. I would then plug in the on/off module on one side of the split to be able to toggle that device on and off. The other side of the split I would plug in a device I want to be always on. I would leave the bottom outlet always on (via the on/off outlet). I then want the third device (plugged into the top outlet) to be…

Looking for some quick guidance on wiring a humidifier. I have replaced my stand alone humidistat with a Venstar. The old humidistat had two wires, one to W1 on the other to the humidifier. I suspect I only need to connect the one wire from the Venstar AUX to the humidifier and no longer require the second that runs to W1. Just looking for validation. I've scoured the forum trying to figure out the proper syntax to turn on/off a scene using a rest command, however have yet to find success. I've tried the the following rest commands: /rest/node/45761/DON /rest/node/45761/DON/128 /rest/nodes/45761/DON

I want the motion sensor to display an ON status in the Admin Console when motion is detected. I want the following program to control a light if motion is detected in the timeframe indicated: Deck Door Sensor (Night) - [iD 0019][Parent 0001] If From Sunset - 30 seconds To Sunrise - 30 seconds (next day) And Status 'Motion Sensors / Deck Motion Sensor / Deck Motion Detector-Sensor' is On Then Set 'Deck Light (TL)' On Wait 10 minutes Set 'Deck Light (TL)' Off Else Set 'Deck Light (TL)' Off I have been unable to get the motion sensor to show nothing but an ON status in the Admin Console. 23. I have a Dimming KPL(2334) wired to a set of hall sconces. In a separate adjacent hallway, I have a ceiling fixture (not wired to the KPL) with an Insteon 2672 LED bulb. I have set up a scene were the main KPL key pad brings up the sconces to 12% and also brings the 2672 LED bulb in the adjacent hall to 12%. Everything works fine ! Am I "OK" with this ? I understand not to wire a dimmer to the 2672 LED bulb. What I'm fuzzy on is how the bulb, as a responding scene member, is being powered up/controlled when the key on the dimmer is pressed. Also, local dimming of both the bulb and the sconces works fine (and in tandem) when the main key is held in, which is pr…

Hi, I'm trying to bypass username and password login when I access Isy994i web page from my iphone. I have generated a self signed certificate on ISY and iphone seems to take it OK, however iphone still doesn't save the login password and insist me to login every time. I'd appreciate any suggestion of what I'm missing, do I need a CA signed cert for this to work? or any other option to walk around this without buying an app. Thanks

  25. A friend of mine gave me some old unused Insteon toggle lincs that he had laying around. Two of them are newer and work fine with my other modern insteon gear (ISY included). One of them is obviously much older than the other two. It has a sticker on the faceplate that says "V1.0" and is branded "Smarthome" instead of "Smartlabs". I hooked it up and to my dismay, it won't control the local load. I thought maybe it had a bad relay, so I took it apart. Here's what I found: I'm no EE, but this looks like a shoddy bomb casing filled with used pinball machine parts! There's no load relay, no microcontroller, no nothing. Just a few diodes,…
