Please post any direct support issues here. This is still not direct support from UD, but a way to keep initial issues related to the release of v5.9.1 in a common area. For very serious and/or time sensitive issues please open a support ticket with UD.

Locking this thread. It was a dead thread (3 year old post) until a random reply came up. If assistance is needed please start a new topic. -
Thanks to @glacier991 for suggesting a great addition to the forum topic area. Opening up an "IoX Program Support" area seemed to be a logical addition to the discussion area. Yes, there are LOTS of places to post, but keep this area focused on programs - asking for help with programs, learning programs, brainstorming programs, or anything having to do directly with programming functions in IoX and any number of plugins being used within IoX. Just one guideline to consider: Proper method to share a program on the forum Right click on the program Select "COPY to Clipboard" (the last option on the menu!) Paste the TEXT into your topic/reply (see example below) This process makes it easier by not having to type/recreate the program portions. This also makes the program searchable to help others in the future, or to re-jog OP's memory in the future Forum Search (top right of page) Google Site Search (site: https://forum.universal-devices.com/) Do not attach files! Any screenshots, PDFs, or other files attached to posts may result in the post/topic being removed and the OP asked to use the "COPY to Clipboard" method of sharing programs. Example of copied program: 00-Query All - KEEP If Time is 3:00:10AM Then Set 'eisy' Query Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Please use this thread for support and posts around updating to IoX 5.7.1 (released Nov 12, 2023) Release Statement:

The current recommended process for updating the eisy and Polisy products are as follows: Using IoX Launcher access Admin Console Run IoX Backup (NOTE: if running Z-Wave run Z-wave backup first then IoX backup) Menu -> Z-Wave -> Backup -> Click "Yes" to update/replace Z-Wave backup No progress is shown, but backup is made Menu -> File -> Backup IoX -> Save file (will be a .zip file leave it intact) Process bar will advance. Please do not make any changes to system during this time. Click on Configuration tab Click on Upgrade Packages button Click "YES" to confirm Leave "Warning" box on screen. (Okay if you don't, but it is found to be a good reminder not to change/close the system) If UD Mobile is setup for system notifications you should receive a few notifications that device is offline (as well as node servers are disconnected) and alerts when it comes back online. Notice of update complete and if system should be rebooted Click Reboot button (system should still be on Configuration tab in Admin Console) Admin Console window will close Allow system to process the reboot (An undetermined amount of time should pass. Polisy will beep several times once rebooted). Will usually get alerts on UD Mobile that the device has gone offline and online again. If the update was for IoX firmware release please Clear Java Cache (be sure to select all three boxes in the process. Delete any OLD copies of start.jnlp or admin.jnlp you might have on your system. Download a fresh IoX Launcher from UDI site Found by clicking on "My ISY" on the top right of the website Direct link: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Run IoX Launcher and log into Admin Console as you normally would Confirm Firmware and UI match on the Help -> About menu Launch PG3 from Admin Console Menu -> Node Servers -> Launch Polyglot V3 (PG3) Or og into PG3x using the IoX Launcher or typing the URL directly into your browser Once logged in if this was a Polyglot update confirm PG3x version at the bottom of the dashboard screen. NOTE: Make a habit of not changing anything in Polyglot if the Admin Console is open. Any changes made in Polyglot need to have the Admin Console restarted to push any updates to the IoX system. It's best practice not to be logged into Polyglot and Admin Console at the same time to avoid any conflict in changes or simply to have the changes visible in Admin Console. Only log into one system at a time! Trouble Shooting: If you cannot log into Admin Console after an update: Power Cycle the device Using the multi function button to shut down then pull power for 10 seconds Using the multi function button to force a restart Refer to the wiki User Guide for the device you are using for proper button pushes Presses should be short, but not too short, but not held more than 2 seconds Be sure you cleared Java Cache correctly Be sure your Java is updated. IoX Launcher is designed to run on current versions of Java available directly at www.java.com. Using different versions might impact some parts of IoX Launcher and make it difficult/impossible to access and use Admin Console. If you cannot access Polyglot (PG3/PG3x) Power Cycle the device (see steps above) Attempt with a different browser Tested working all browsers will load PG3/PG3x local web services Turn off any antivirus/firewall/pop-up blocking software Additional Comments: It is "normal" for the IoX Finder window to display both a local friendly URL name and an IP address for the same device. It may, or may not, display this after an update. Do not be shocked if it does, or doesn't. Typically IoX Finder will report the first handshake for the name/IP for the device you are using. In some instances it is reporting both the IP address and the eisy.local (or Polisy equivalent). Lines that are "Found" and added in the process of looking cannot be deleted. This is expected behavior. If you have added the Portal URL to the Admin Console sometimes that will stay through a Java Cache clearing because it is stored in a UDI*.state file, but it is normal for this to also not appear after an update. If you use the Portal URL to access your device (even while local) please remember to use your Portal Credentials when using the Portal URL to access the Admin Console.

While Zigbee is part of the ZMatter function please see post below to add any devices you would like to see supported in early roll-out of Zigbee support: https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/41584-zigbee-device-support-requests/
-
To keep the posts for "requests" out of the IoX 5.6.3 support thread please put all "requests" here to expand support for Zigbee devices. Please include: Manufacturer Name Model # Link to sales/availability site(s) Key/desired function support This is only to begin targeting expansion for supported devices. This is not expected to be a long-term request thread, but certainly to target expansion and support for what the Universal Devices community has in service. In order to get an idea of what devices should be supported as this rolls out. Please like (press the heart reaction) a suggestion/request rather than duplicating an already suggested device.

Please update to the newer version if having issues. After update if still having concerns please post in the support thread. New Version: 5.6.3 Released: July 14, 2023

ZMatter is shipping! How to install and what is next...
Administrator replied to Administrator's topic in ZMatter
As updated in the alert at the top of the forums, here is the latest information regarding the ZMatter firmware update and migration process: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just a quick status update on our progress with ZMatter firmware: as much as we wanted to release the updated firmware today, unfortunately we uncovered a bug in SiLab’s Z-Wave firmware which corrupts the dongle while reading/writing to the Non Volatile memory (needed for migration). We have notified SiLabs of this catastrophic bug, and waiting for their response. In the meantime, we spent the last week working on an alternative approach that uses ISY information to reconstruct the Z-Wave network rather than relying on the Z-Wave network itself. Although we have made great progress, alas routing information and optimizations are only available from the dongle. As such, we’re currently investigating whether or not it’s possible to automate routing optimization without forcing you to update the neighbors of all your devices, which could be quite intrusive – especially in the case of battery operated devices. In addition, we also uncovered another very serious bug in OTA update which, in some cases, corrupts the end device. Although we do not yet know the root cause, it seems that the same parts of the NV memory are being overwritten as those we are experiencing during migration. We are trying to get to the root cause. All this said, we are going to spend the weekend and Monday to finalize migration/routing, with or without which we’ll release a version on Tuesday the 13th. This way, those who do not need migration can start playing and enjoying ZMatter while we fix migration or SiLabs comes up with an updated firmware. Sincere apologies. With Kind regards, UD Sales --------------------------------------------------------------------------- More info to follow as available.- 1 reply

Z-Wave support and ZMatter install instructions can be found in the UDI Wiki here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Polisy:User_Guide#Z-Wave_Support Starting December 9th (hopefully sooner) additional information will be made available regarding Polisy updates (Polyglot and ISY on Polisy) to make the ZMatter board functional. Migration steps will also be made available during this time. With the release of the ZMatter card there will be a lot of questions and processes to review. Please take a moment to read ALL prior posts before starting a new thread or tagging onto an existing thread. If a thread has been "solved" make sure you read the solution. If it does not apply to/resolve your situation then START A NEW THREAD. It is easier to monitor issues in the forums when there are new (short) threads. We will review and merge threads if needed. It is often more difficult to read through multiple pages looking for a difference that might fix your issue than having a short thread that is already solved. All threads leading up to now have been locked. Feel free to reference any locked post by linking to it in your new thread. Thank you and enjoy!

Attention Polisy Users, Unless explicitly requested by Universal Devices, the SSH method of updating the Polisy should be avoided. Due to recent updates to the underlying operating system, unexpected consequences are being experienced when users force a full package upgrade and update using SSH. To update/upgrade your Polisy, please only use the process below via Admin Console to the ISY on Polisy (IoP). Current suggested method for updating: ISY Launcher to open the ISY Finder window seen below: Once logged in navigate to: Configuration System Then click: "Upgrade Packages" This updating/upgrading process (through Admin Console) has been developed to handle downloading the proper packages from Universal Devices servers to update UD specific libraries and dependencies needed to keep the Polisy operating efficiently and as designed. This information will also be added to the Universal Devices Wiki in the Polisy: User Guide. Please visit the Universal Devices Forums for Current Release Announcements to know when updates are ready for processing. Be sure to click the “Follow” button to setup notifications when new posts are made regarding any released activity: Polisy, IoP, ISY994, or UD Mobile (Android or iOS) https://www.universal-devices.com/ https://forum.universal-devices.com/ https://wiki.universal-devices.com/

If you are new to the Polisy please take a moment to read the User Guide posted in the UD Wiki. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Polisy:User_Guide Key topics include: General First Steps Setting up Portal access for ISY on Polisy (IoP) Getting UD Mobile and setting it up General Troubleshooting steps If you have an early shipment of Polisy and ready to upgrade it for IoP and Polyglot v3 (PG3) you might want to check the wiki for how to make sure your operation system is up to date and how to bring it up to date. This applies to (older) Polisy that are pre-version 13 OS. Steps to upgrade outlined here. Once you are up and running follow these two areas of the forums to get notifications when new releases are available: Current Release Announcements PG3 Version Announcements To follow a topic just click the "Follow" button in the upper right area of the forum and then set your notification preferences. Email is typically the default and easiest method. When new posts are made you will get an email with a link to the post and you can act on the release if so desired.

Several forum members have submitted help tickets regarding problems with not being able to validate or reset their password, stating that the system is not sending them emails. We have isolated the issue to Microsoft mail services, namely hotmail, outlook.com, and Exchange hosted accounts. This also includes owned domains that may be hosted by outlook.com. It appears that these servers are marking our forum emails as spam (how rude!), and you need to specifically mark them as "Not Spam" for the engine to white list us. Furthermore if you are using a client to access these services that uses IMAP/Exchange you may find that there are TWO spam folders, one that always resides on the server and one that pushes to your client. Please check using your WebMail to white-list emails from the forum that end up in spam folders to ensure that they are delivered.
