The update completed successfully. I can also confirm notifications not working with 2.8.6 using gmail. Same settings that worked in 2.8.5 do not work now in 2.8.6. Tried the setting as per Michel reccomdations and they also fail...[Password not accepted]

Thanks all...I will try that after the holiday. I assume there is a factory reset button on the plm (dual band) but I haven't done it in the past as it was never necessary.

Thanks LeeG... I have confirmed the address link exists in the plm...There are 9 groups to with the same device address...perhaps from a simplehomenet EZIO6 that was defective. Now...what is the easiest way to delete the links? A PLM restore? Is there another way where I do not have to run around the house putting the M-Sensors into program mode? It is odd that the scene with error has nothing to do with the device. As a matter of fact, the EZIO6 was never put into any scene, but somehow it is being queried... thanks again...

LeeG...this is where I am having difficulty understanding the error...I cannot find the refferenced device (0D.D3.D5) in my system...is this the address or some other inseon code? Thnaks for the help...

I have been seeing intermittent scene failures with one scene. I did a scene tests and found an error that I have not seen in the past. The summary report states "successful", but there is one error. Can anyone please help me understand what this error is? Seems to work well...no problems experienced. Thanks UD!!!

I thought so as well...but...I had a program that was not working properly and the only change I made was with the first condition from AND to OR. Resaved it and all began to function properly. Maybe a coincidence or maybe re-saving recreated the program. Thanks for the feedback!
-
Is there any difference in a program when multiple conditions are used in the "if" statement with regards to the 1st statement being and "and" or "or"? The first condition never dispalys the "and" or "or" fot the first condition, however, when I select the first condition, i can see "and" or "or"? If Status 'Alarm / Alarm Armed (AWAY)' is On Or Control 'Alarm / Alarm Armed (AWAY)' is switched On Or Control 'Mudroom / Mudroom KPL-Mudroom Light / Mudroom KPL-Away Button' is switched Fast Off Or Status 'Mudroom / Mudroom KPL-Mudroom Light / Mudroom KPL-Away Button' is On Then Wait 2 seconds Set Scene 'Mudroom / Mudroom Light Scene' On Wait 5 seconds Set Scene 'Kitchen / Kitchen Island Scene' On Set Scene 'Living Room / Living Room Soffit Scene' On Set 'Office / Office Light Switch' On Wait 15 seconds Set Scene 'Mudroom / Mudroom Light Scene' Off Wait 1 hour and 30 minutes Set Scene 'Living Room / Living Room Soffit Scene' Off Set Scene 'Upstairs Hall / Stairs Lights Scene' On Set Scene 'Foyer / Foyer Light Scene' On Wait 2 hours Set Scene 'Foyer / Foyer Light Scene' Off Wait 2 hours and 30 minutes Set Scene 'Kitchen / Kitchen Island Scene' Off Set Scene 'Upstairs Hall / Stairs Lights Scene' Off Set 'Office / Office Light Switch' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') So in the example above, the first "If" condition: Status 'Alarm / Alarm Armed (AWAY)' is On is not designated as "and" or "or". But by clicking on the first condition, it shows "and". Is there any significance in this? Should I verify that all 1st conditions are properly configured or is it not relevant as long it is the 1st condition? Thanks

Thanks Rand... I am currently using a similar program for inside lights and it appears to be OK. Outside lights are a different story... I will give some thought and try to figure out the best approach for my situation. Thank you again, Gene

Thanks Michel...that's what I will plan on doing. Do you have any sample programs that will accomplish this? With the light data being so limited on the low end, I would expect that the sunrise/sunset timers would always trump the light data. The only real beneifit I can see is using the light information to "verify" status of my motion sensor dusk/dawn sensors. Something like...If WB light data is greater than 1, and dusk/dawn sensor is true (dusk) then i have a status issue in my ms... Thanks for your help!
-
I just purchased the Weather module for my ISY...very nice information available. I have a question...The light data seems to be limited on the low end...when it is still light and getting closer to dusk, the light level goes to less than 1 and to 0 very quickly. This makes it difficult to use the available light information to control outside lights as they go on too early in the evenings and stay on too late in the mornings when compared to sunrise/sunset. I can use timers, but prefer to have lights turn on/off based on available light. My outside ms's do have a photocell and they appear to ble closer to desired on/off light level for dusk/dawn, but they aren't as reliable as the data available through the weather module as they occasionally do not update correctly. I have tried different weather stations in my area and all report less than 1 light level while significant ambient light is available outdoors. Any thoughts? Thanks

All seems to be working locally, however, remote access through the internet does not open the programs details and program summary. This is not the case locally. Difference is: Local machine is windows 7, while remote is windows XP pro... Upgraded to the latest firmware 2.8.4 Any Ideas? -
Release 2.8.4 Beta is now available
gfridland replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Upgrade went well...looks like all is working fine. Rlav: I also had an issue where I coudn't access the program and program summary through the console, I had to uninstall and re-install the java app and all began to funtion correctly. This is the only difference between this and past upgrades. Thanks UD... Gene -
LeeG...I appreciate your comments... The reason for driving the scene from both the KPL's and the ISY is because of the issue that KPL's exhibit when trying to control the load on a kpl with a secondary button on the same kpl. This has always been a problem...both with the 2412 and 2413. I have been able to successfully deal with this by using the ISY program to minitor the event and upon seeing it, send the command from the ISY directly to re-execute the command on the KPL and re-synch the KPL to the devices. If I execute the scene from the ISY or from any other controller other than the KPL's, everything works well. The reason I prefer to do it locally and not through a program is because of the delay that the ISY program places into the scene. Often, when I execute a program with multiple scenes, there is a 1-2 second delay in final execution. When the devices are linked together, there is no noticable delay. Perhaps, it would be faster with the new PLM, but it works ok with the 3 second WAIT command.
-
LeeG, Yes, both KPL's button B are controlling the same scene. As a matter of fact, the KPL layout is identical to each other...they are in opposite parts of the hall.
-
Rand...no X10 commands are being recorded in the Event viewer. I do not have X10 devices on the network and specifically factory reset each device prior to adding into the system to avoid any leftover X10 links that may come from the factory... Thank you.

Michel... I'm unclear on your 1st question...to clarify my setup: I have (2) 8 button KPLs which each control a load in a large hallway. The hallway has a total of 8 devices which are all part of various hallway scenes. There are a total of 5 scenes in the hallway. Each of the 2 KPLs controls 1 load and is part of one hallway scene. On #1 KPL, Button A = Main Hall lights (load) Button B = All Hall On/Off Button C = Kids hall lights Button D = Stairs Lights Button E = Master Accent lights On #2 KPL, Button A = Main Hall lights (NO connected load) Button B = All Hall On/Off Button C = Kids hall lights Button D = Stairs Lights Button E = Master Accent lights When I press the All Hall On/Off button on #2 KPL, all scenes execute but KPL buttons A,C,D,E do not change on only #2 KPL. #1 KPL executes correctly including all associated buttons. When I press the All Hall On/Off button on #1 KPL, all scenes except the Main Hall lights scene executes but KPL buttons A,C,D,E do not change on only #1 KPL. #2 KPL executes correctly including all associated buttons. This occurs in either All Hall On/off is turned ON or OFF In order to fix this issue...which was always an issue (both 2412s and 2413s), I have a program that watches for the All Hall On/Off button press and executes the All Hall Scene again. However, with the 2413s PLM, the program would not correct the KPL to match the scene. A Wait command of 3 seconds fixed the issue with the 2413s... Did I confuse everyone thoroughly? Sorry!
-
Michel...All scenes test are successful. I have not seen any communication issues in my system for a very long time. In the ISY, when the program does not have the WAIT line, all devices/kpls show status as correct, but the KPL from which the command was sent does not execute correctly. After query, the ISY status of kpl is corrected to match device. If I execute the scene from the ISY (not from the KPL) all works fine. If I insert the WAIT, then all is ok as well. The delay must be 3 seconds...1 or 2 does not correct the issue. Thanks again!

Hi Michel, "Wait while busy reading" is checked in the configuration menu... Thanks for your help...

Is it possible that the new dual band PLM is too fast for some functions? I have been using the ISY to monitor and execute scenes to eliminate the issue that KPL's have where the main load is to be controlled by a secondary button on the same KPL. When using the 2412s standard modem, the program would execute without a hitch. If button C is pressed, then turn a scene which includes button A of the same KPL on. After installing the dual band 2413s, the program would execute, but not turn the button A scene on...strange right? The Fix...a 3 second wait on the "then" If button C is pressed, then WAIT 3 SECONDS and turn a scene which includes button A of the same KPL on. So...is this related to the speed of the PLM? Or am I missing something?

http://www.smarthome.com/71940/Minotaur ... sor/p.aspx Just got two of these for the same purpose...monitoring 2 sump pumps in basement. They do seem to work quite well. They will detect moisture as well as I placed them on a moist paper towel and was able to get a signal to register. There are no float/mechanical moving parts here so I am not concerned about debris causing issues. I am sure that you can build something also...probably for less cost than what Smarthome charges for this, but, time was not on my side. Also, you can run them in parallel and will therefore allow for multiple sensors on one i/o link. Good luck!
