@MrBillThanks for the response. I'm using 5.3.0 and my Motion Sensor II is USB powered. To be clear about adjusting the Motion scene, I want it to respond to whatever scene I have manually enabled. The default state is my Work scene. When I press the button to turn out the lights or there is no motion for a period of time, the motion scene is set up to mirror the Work scene If I turn on the fan, or the temperature is above 72F, the fan will be enabled in the motion scene so it comes on when I enter the office. If I turn on another scene, the Motion Scene wil be configured to mirror that scene. That way motion wil not change my desired lighting. Thanks. Jeff

In my office I have a Motion Detector II, two controllers, two dimmable lights, two switched lights and a fan. I have several scenes and buttons to turn individual lights and the fan on and off. If I want to adjust a motion sensor scene to respond the same no matter which controller activates it (program, one of two controllers, motion sensor), do I need to use Adjust scene for each responder and controller? Maintaining this is a bit onerous, I'm just wondering if there is an easier way. Thanks. Jeff

I think the correct count for me is 2 2413S and 1 2412S. I have replaced the caps in my VI.B unit and the LED comes on, which it did not do before. The only other thing I notice is that if I hold the black button it will eventually start beeping. I don't yet have the nerve to try replacing the 2412S I have running now. I had a hard time getting the caps out cleanly; I need a finer tip on my iron and maybe some better eyes. I ruined one trace, but was able to not cut the lead from the cap and solder it where it the trace was headed. I measured the old caps with my Fluke 117 and all read above their marked value except the 6.8uF which read as 6.18uF. I'm not sure if this static test is a good indication. I might still try to fix my V1.0 2413S at some point.

Was looking in my cabinet of HA parts and found my last 2413S, it's a V1.0. When it died I opened it up looking at why it was damaged. Maybe I should try replacing the caps in that one too.

Add me to the list of folks with a failed 2413S. I ordered this one just about exactly three years ago. Before that I went through two 2412S units in five years. Caps are on order.

My burner controller has a fail output which I have hooked up to an IOLinc so I'll get a notification if there is a burner issue. I selected a higher-end controller because of this feature.

I've seen some projects using ultrasonic sensors as well as some commercial products (Becket Rocket, Rollie WTG). Using raw data from a ultrasonic sensor would allow me to calibrate to usable full and empty. The Roth tank I have is top feed and takes about 243 gallons till the whistler quits and the pickup tube is about an inch above the bottom of the tank. I'm not sure what how temperature affects the reading. The serial output looks most interesting, I have several Raspberry Pi's available. As I would have to take out the mechanical sensor, I could put a display on the RPi for a local reading.

I'd prefer a level sensor that I could calibrate and get a better understanding of my usage.

I have a Roth tank and it has a dial, so that wouldn't work too well. I could of course use a remote camera... Beckett has the Rocket which has a dedicated sensor, I wonder if it uses a standard RF signal (RFXCOM)? Another option is the Fuel Minder II http://fuelminder.biz/Fuel%20Minder%20II/fuel_minder_II_purchasing_details.html and use an A/D converter. I'd have to get a custom length for the Roth tank. Anyone have any experience with heating oil level monitoring that can be interfaced to the ISY?

What is an "Insteon whole house repeater"? Do you mean the hardwired phase coupler, or is it some device that I have never heard about yet? Yes, the phase coupler. Sent from my GT-P6210 using Tapatalk 2

Thanks for explaining that. All is well now. Except that I need to install the Insteon whole house repeater and I have lots of other devices to install and programs to write to do more cool stuff.. And someday buy a Brultech monitor... Happy Holidays.

Michel, I thought I did try it with both the old and new UI on Linux, but I can't rule out PEBCAK. I don't remember which I used on the Mac at this point. What's the rule for upgrading a device, use it's UI version, or always use the latest? I know about clearing out the cache when changing versions. The firmware release instructions seem to indicate that I should use the UI version that matches the firmware version I'm upgrading. Thanks. Jeff

Michael, On Linux, trying to install the 994iZ firmware would cause the admin console to hang. This happened with both the version loaded from the ISY and from a version loaded from your web site. On the Mac (Java 7 update 9) when I tried to install the 994iZ firmware, it claimed it was not compatible with the device. The 994i firmware install went smoothly, as did the switch over to 994iZ firmware once I installed the 994i version of 3.3.7. The problem with Linux seems to be something unique to Linux as I am unable to restore the 99i back up to the 994i via Linux, it also hangs. It did not do this when I updated the 99i from 3.3.6 to 3.3.7. I'm not sure if I have updated Java (currently at 7 update 10) since then. I am able to do the restore on a Windows VM running on the LInux machine. I just installed Java 7 Update 10. My modules have been transferred and I am not running on the 994iZ / IR Pro! Thanks Jeff

I received an upgrade from an ISY-99i IR to an ISY-994iZ Pro/IR for Xmas! I had lots of trouble getting the ISY-994iZ to the latest firmware. I ended up having to flash 3.3.7 for the 994i and then flash 3.3.7 for the 994iZ. Is this an expected behavior? I'm waiting for my modules to transfer before I backup my 99i and restore it to my 994iZ. Thanks. Jeff
