I followed the instructions to the letter and updated. Everything came back and seems to work great however I am uncertain how to determine I have the new functionality. Where do I check and what should it be? Thanks!

I installed the beta and did a reboot. During this I got a number of bogus notifications.

Support thread for: PG3x v3.1.36 (July 11, 2023)
atomicboy replied to bmercier's topic in Polyglot v3 (PG3x)
Easy update and no problems. -
I just gave it another try and it worked. I ran both the ssh commands and it is restarting now. Did 6 button shutdown. Restarted. Got the same message that PG3x needed to be restarted. Rebooted inside MobiLinc. All is good now. As an aside: I was very quick with the copy paste and it immediately required the password again.

I tried a few more times and again I still got “Not Found”. To ensure no typing errors I copy pasted as well. I am not that much of an experience user of ssh commands, so maybe it is me? I was a bit surprised when I typed in “sudo pkg add -f https://pkg.isy.io/udx13.staging/All/pg3x-3.1.35.pkg” that it prompted for the password (“admin”) again. I do not believe I experienced this before. I am just identifying this in case I made an error.

I tried twice and got “Not Found” as well.

I kicked off the update and when finished I cleaned out Java and reloaded Java. Logged back in an did a reboot. Everything is running great. I really like that my Eisy is running very stable these days. I had to replace a failing Serial PLM about 2 months ago because it was not communicating well with my Insteon Leak Sensors and throwing errors in my monitoring programs (missed heart beat, etc).

When I migrated from ISY994 to Eisy I had a similar issue. I had originally used Mobilinc HD which requires the Alexa spoken word to be stored in each device notes field. The migration program in the UD Portal does not migrate the note field but does migrate the Spoken Word field in the UD Portal which in my case these fields were empty. So the behaviour when using the Eisy appeared like the PLM was not working but when I went back to the ISY994 the PLM did work. I entered the Spoken Word in the UD Portal for each device and the Eisy works perfectly. So if you used Mobilinc HD, maybe that is the problem?

I appear to have everything working including PG3. I got PG3 working by power cycling my Eisy.

I am using a Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Machine Pro and most of my network is Unifi. I have been able to set up UD Mobil, my portal is correct now, wifi and wired working to the Eisy. Yesterday PG3 would not allow login but since I got things working in UD Mobil (I think) I have not tried PG3. Will try later today. I just now tried PG3 and was not able to login. It flashed up the portal login screen (which I logged into) and then flashed up the PG3 login screen. I tried the default passwords and other associated passwords but no luck. I will keep watching the forum and continue to experiment as I am not in a rush. My ISY994 continues to function well.

Sounds like my experience as well. iPad OS 16.2

I used the Admin Console after formatting the SD Card.

For my issue I had to go further and reformat the SD Card and reload the FW. I am not saying I know enough to advise you that this is your next step but for me it was the only option I had left.

That is the extent of my knowledge on the topic.

I am of the thought ... if it ain’t broke .... don’t fix it. That 128 card can sit there forever as long as it behaves.

I was not aware of the V4 and V5 backup Major revision alignment. In my case I was trying to upgrade from a V4.x (from 2019) to a V4.x (2020). It was out of desperation that I tried the V5. I also have a “temporary” 128 Mb SD card in it now and it is going to stay despite only needing 8 Mb. I also suspected potential glitchy hardware which I was going to keep a watch out for. For me, I just want to set it and forget it as I have a host of other stuff that needs attention. My initial purchase (My first introduction) of an isy a few years back was plaqued with an issue that required an RMA and all involved were good at addressing it. Thanks again for your guidance on this.

I tried a variety of FW files with no luck but my last ditch attempt was to use the 5..0.16C FW. This allowed me to do a restore of my most current isy back up. Roughly 13 hours of screwing around. all my devices, programs and variables seem to have been restored. Phew!

I used another SD Card I had and I am still stuck at the error:Failed: Invalid System configuration File. I did try other ISY backup files I had. Do I start just randomly playing with the PLM???
-
I sure regret trying to upgrade the firmware! After pulling the SD Card, reformatting it and reinstalling it I got everything back up BUT I am now logged in as admin/admin and when I try to restore my isy backup I get Upgrade Failed: Invalid System. Configuration file. i have I idea what it is or how to find it?
-
After a lot of different attempts it would appear the isy took a restore but I am now back at the Failed: Retry / Authenticating ISY when trying to log in using my credentials or the admin/admin. Not sure what is next?
-
I used PUTTY to access SD Card and used the FS command. As as I could tell nothing happened.closed it down manually. i then tried restore back up and I get Java errors. Cleared Java Cache. Tried restore backup again and Java errors.

I guess this is the step by step to: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Replacing/Formatting_an_SD_Card

I was able to login to my isy with PUTTY successfully using admin/admin. i see a list of commands and I am researching the command set. I am wondering if I do the reformat of the SD Card (I need the command line for this) I am not certain I know how to acquire and reload the O/S. I will continue to research online how to do the above but anyone who can point me to the instructions would be greatly appreciated. It certainly will cut my time and build my confidence in undertaking the steps. I appear to have no choice but to do this as my backup will not restore on the isy following the previous reset.

Thanks for the guidance. I have used Putty before so I will download again and see if I think I can reformat the SD Card. if you have a link to instructions on this I would appreciate it. Thanks again.
