Are the tariffs impacting prices in Canada too? I thought the tariffs were on goods coming into the US? I am so confused lol.

So used to be my drive. But so sad that companies are in a stock market race to make their ceo bonuses and boards happier. So they push their dev teams for price and time.

All in fun guys. Just passing time. Don’t think anyone here is being serious. I am about 45 min south of those fires so your right it very possible. Especially since they were just north of the palisades fire I am sure they were affected. Hope they are all safe.

We are 3 hours away from being Feb 1 on the east coast. Getting close. Funny, I was just searching and saw this on google. Universal Devices - Location Closed which matches the address on their website. I think we put too much pressure on them...

I did see this and try it. When I try to click it I get an error popup with a message that says "Section Click not handled: matter". I just making a assumption that things are not probably enabled still till formal release.

That is awesome news Michel. Looking forward to using it. Thank you for the update.

I second that. Thank you. That help me.

Appreciate they are working on it. But I don’t think it’s asking for a lot to say we have made this progress and this is pending on a periodic basis. I get worried when you say they are working on other things and not getting a progress update. Does that mean matter is not critical and if it takes 2 years it’s ok because of other priorities? If that’s the case then don’t advertise it when buying. All of this unknown due to the lack of a simple update that something is happening.

Love this company and love then product. Have been a supporter since the first ISY came out. But getting disappointed at the lack of communication on the entire matter subject. I appreciate it’s not a large company and that it will take time. I purchased this with the comfort in knowing this company will do have it and it will be awesome. But for the first time I feel like I am just being strung along with no updates or plans or timeline. Even if they said we have made progress or we are working with a target of x. Something, anything. It’s not new anymore. Almost everyone has created their hub and is integrating devices now. But I want ISY to work as it’s the device I love. Please give us some update.

Oh ok. I misread the note below. Now that I went back and read again after your note, your correct. I am cool to wait. Just I confused myself with all of this. If they are doing any BETA or need help testing, I am always open on the MATTER side. Have some Matter compliant smart plugs and planning to get rid of Insteon and move to other products for switches and things. Insteon while nice is just too costly. And I am afraid that if they sink again, all that money will be gone. Versus other companies that have similar things that are much cheaper in cost. Wont hurt as much if I have to throw them away. Matter As of 09/28/2023, we have successfully integrated with a couple of Matter devices and debugging the remaining issues

Hoping someone can help me out here. I am a little confused on Matter protocol and how EISY integrates / works with it. I understand that Matter is now a protocol that is built by multiple companies to be the standard communication method for supported devices. And Thread is just the communication method like wifi. When I saw that the EISY had a module coming out to support Matter, I jumped on it. I just got it all installed, migrated from my ISY994. Have been a customer for so many years. EISY is my third upgrade with Universal. I have some TAPO Smart Plugs made by TPLink that support Matter. I was setting it up 3 weeks ago (this was before I got my ZMatter USB Module). My Apple Home hub installed it as a matter module no issues. All working, great. I got my EISY ZMatter module and now I am confused as I dont know how and where you install it. Further, I am getting more confused with the references to Zwave in every Matter discussion. Also the ZMatter versus Matter is confusing me. Am I missing something? I tried to install the device via the ZWave Smart add option from the iPhone app (only place I can see to install anything) using the QR code on the Smart plug and the app says invalid or code too small. So what exactly does the EISY support and how do you use it? Appreciate any help.

I checked my junk and emails. Nothing from that address this weekend. I tried to register again and it says already registered and waiting on verification of email.

Thanks for the feedback. My electricity costs are pretty high due to a lot of waste. So for me to be able to see live usage allows me to see what I can cut down on and make some changes to reduce that overall usage. Not so much worried about AC as that is needed. That's like people complaining about gas prices. Well don't buy a gas guzzler if you look at gas prices or don't drive. But otherwise, you need to pay for gas if you need to drive. Just pay and move on. Any hoot, yeah so I just want to be able to make live decisions on things running to cut my bill. When I say high, its high even with solar installed. And SCE mandates TOU when you have solar.

Just to add a little more. I said Time of Rate above but I meat Time of Use. So my cost of electricity costs are different for the time period of 5-9PM and the rest of the day. Also Summer versus Winter and Weekend versus weekday. Today I love that I can see what my current electricity cost is in the ISY. I can turn it on and instead of seeing kw, I see$ which to me is easier to understand and make changes. But I can only configure a single cost for the electricity. I went through all options and does not look like I can configure it. Also I believe other providers send the current rate as part of the smart meter but SCE does not. So I would need to be able to configure it. This way, I can just turn on my phone and see that I am paying $1 a hour right now and start yelling at people to turn crap off
