"discovering nodes - retry"
I think I fixed it. To close this issue: I had tried rebooting the ISY several times via the Admin Console. I then noticed I was not receiving the email I programmed the ISY to send when it reboots. So, I physically unplugged the ISY and the PLM. This seems to have returned things to normal. The "Linking" window is gone.

"discovering nodes - retry"
When installing a new Insteon module, the interface seemed to hang after it found the new device. I ended up closing and re-opening the Admin Console. I immediately received pop ups stating, "discovering nodes - retry". Everything was working earlier today before trying to link an Insteon ON/Off Module. I also see that under the Z-Wave tab there is an exclamation point and it says, "Z-Wave Dongle Not Responding". My z-wave devices consist of three z-wave locks and two z-wave AOC Repeaters. I've rebooted the ISY and computer. My antivirus/firewall is only Windows Defender and has never interfered before. There has been a window open for hours now that says "Linking". It slowly progresses to 100% and then starts over. I cannot control the ISY from the admin console or Agave. I'm on v5.0.16 See attached event log. Any suggestions? Using ISY to change local On Level
Okay, I'm not crazy! (well, I may still be crazy...) I don't have all those options on V4.7. I've been itching to move to 5.x, but haven't had the time to focus on it (my first 2.5 year old is pretty distracting ?). It sounds like v5 might be officially released soon. I may just try and go beta though. I like all those options! Thanks!

Using ISY to change local On Level
larryllix How did you set the switchlinc on level programmatically ? What specifically did you use for your Actions? If I use, "Your Devices" I only get the options to set Device On, Off, Turn on to a percentage etc., set backlight level, beeper volume. No options for setting local On Level or Ramp Rate. If I use Adjust Scene, my device doesn't show up. Only scenes or devices that are in scenes. So I put my single device in a Scene. I then see "On Level" and "Ramp Rate". But it only adjust those settings for the scene, not locally on the device. I should note, I'm using version 4.7.

Using ISY to change local On Level
This has been gone over before, but I can't get it to work. I'm trying to have the ISY change the local on level for my bathroom light switch to be 12% late at night and 90% during waking hours. I created a scene with only the master bath light in it (as a responder). I created two programs to change the on level in that scene (just the "Then" part for testing. I'm using the "Run then" command to execute the program). Here is what I have: Program 1 Then In Scene 'Master Bath / Mbath Test' Set 'Master Bath / Master Bath Light 16.C0.22.1' 12% (On Level) Program 2 Then In Scene 'Master Bath / Mbath Test' Set 'Master Bath / Master Bath Light 16.C0.22.1' 90% (On Level) Neither of these are changing the Local On Level (pressing the wall switch). What am I missing?

Google home notifications?
I'm thinking of just getting one or two Echo Dots for announcements only. I was a little confused briefly reading the wiki. To confirm: one ISY can send an announcement to multiple Echos, correct? Can you specify an Echo, or is the announcement broadcast to all? (I probably floated into the wrong topic category...)

How to re-assign an existing device?
I've been an Insteon / ISY user since the beginning, but I guess I've never tried to re-assign a device. Is there an easy way? I have a LampLinc Module that used to control accent lights in the kitchen. It is entwined in various scenes and programs. We recently moved to a new home and I would like to remove this module from all current associations and use it to control a living room lamp. Do I have to manually find all scenes and programs it belongs to and remove each association? And then factory reset the module to start it fresh? Is there a way to remove the module in the ISY 994i that would in turn remove it from all existing links, scenes and programs? Thanks.

Google Home Setup
Thanks guys. Even though a bubble briefly popped up in the Home app saying I was successfully connected, I'm not sure I really was linked. I did not have an option to un-link in the home app as Jimbo instructed (I've since got it working, so I now see what Jimbo is referring to). I'm guessing the problem is what MWareman suggested - I hadn't set my ISY as my Preferred ISY in the Portal settings. To further screw up, when trying to un-link, I deleted my ISY from the Portal and re-installed it - except I forgot I had to go to the Administrative Console and approve the Portal again. I kept trying to sign in via the Google Home app, which of course, did nothing. This is the sequence that must be followed: Buy Portal and follow steps to set up Add ISY in Portal Go to "My Profile" in Portal and set ISY to be your Preferred ISY Open the Administrative Console, go to Configuration Tab, then Portal Tab and grant the Portal access Return to the Portal Choose "Select Tool" Choose "Amazon Echo / Google Home" Add your Devices Open Google Home App In the Menu, choose Home Control, then Universal Devices. Sign in with Portal credentials The devices you added in Step 8 should show up

Google Home Setup
I removed the ISY from the Portal website. Do you add spokens in the Portal by going to Select Tool / Connectivity / Amazon Echo Google Home? I can't add anything here until I connect to the Portal through the Home app. I know this probably isn't difficult. Can someone who's done it do a step by step? Thanks again.

Google Home Setup
I added spoken's (I think - I did it at the ISY Portal) after I connected the Home app to the Universal Devices Portal sign in option in the app on the phone. I'm feeling really dumb here - How do I unlink the two? I don't see an option in the Home app. Thanks

Google Home Setup
Nope. Still isn't working.

Google Home Setup
To answer my own question - you have to go to the ISY Portal on a PC, hit the Select Tool button, choose Connectivity and select Amazon Echo/Google Home. You can configure devices there.

Google Home Setup
What am I missing? I purchased and installed the ISY Portal I go to Google Home app on phone --> Home Control --> Device Settings --> Choose Universal Devices --> Sign in to Portal --> And then under Home Control screen / Devices Tab I try to add a device by hitting the +. It takes me back to the Add Devices page where it lists all the HA Software's it works with - Emberlight, Honeywell, iDevices... etc. If I choose Universal Devices, it takes me back to the screen with the +. I'm in a loop and can't add a device. I'm really excited about getting this to work! Thanks UD!

Direct Action
Woo Hoo!!! Awesome! Semi related question. Is it / will it ever be possible to have the ISY play an audio file (maybe from Google Play Music) on a Chromecast Audio? Before ISY, I use to run HAL2000. Something I miss is audio notifications /actions. My favorite was when there was motion in the yard, and I was away, an .Mp3 of a vicious dog barking would play on my home theater system. It was crazy effective. I created it, yet if I came home from a weekend away, it would scare the hell out of me as I was putting my key in the door

Google Home compatible with ISY994
May I suggest making a Google Home topic for a central place to post Google Home info and conversion? I'm thinking there will be / is a lot of interest in the development of this. It would be great to have a header to go to rather than searching the forum for new stuff.

Does anyone make an Insteon announcement speaker/device
I don't know, but I really doubt it. And Hal is a $200-$500 software.

Does anyone make an Insteon announcement speaker/device
This AT&T TTS site used to let you enter and download TTS bits. I haven't tried it in years (I'm on mobile now, and can't try) http://www.wizzardsoftware.com/text-to-voice.php

Does anyone make an Insteon announcement speaker/device
I'm a former HAL2000 user. For a time, I used HAL and ISY together. ISY handled the Insteon automation. HAL could respond to scenes and execute text to speech or play sound files. HAL was hooked up to my home theater system for audio output. Example: When an outside motion sensor triggered, and I was not home, an mp3 file of a vicious dog barking played. And then a light would turn on. When an inside motion was triggered and I was not home, all the lights would turn on, and a TTS player notifying the intruder that a photo was taken and the police were called. I'm looking for a way to replicate this without having to have HAL running on a dedicated PC 24/7.

Google TV, Roku and ISY
I'm thinking that the network module could control these devices directly via IP. There are android apps that can do it over the network without an intermidiate device. I'd prefer this over something like Global Cache. Seems like it would be easier than doing IR (if I knew how!)

Google TV, Roku and ISY
Looks like I didn't look in the right place for this. Similar things have been done with other devices, it appears under the networking part of the forum. Not a lot of conversation taking place though. Any advice on where one would start to learn how to do networking stuff?

I/O Linc and WDISY
Using the WdISY app on my Android phone. The sensor for the I/O Linc shows up, but the Relay does not. Any ideas?

Google TV, Roku and ISY
The network module is what I was thinking would be able to make this work. I'm hoping someone with experience might be interested in fooling around with it!

Google TV, Roku and ISY
I am but a meager user and have no programming experience. I have both a Roku DVP and Logitech Revue with Google TV. Both boxes can be controlled over my home network from apps on my Android phone. Would it be possible for the ISY to send commands over the network to control these boxes? I know it would be blind, one way communication. In the Revue's case, it can turn the TV on and off, control volume, change channels, etc. I think there could be some interesting uses! There are other Android apps that act as remote controls for PC's also. A small server program is installed on the PC to allow network control.

Program to automatically close garage door at a certain time
Thanks guys! So glad I asked. The logic that I wrote was based on me sending commands from the Administrative console to the relay to test. It seemed that the "On" command had no effect unless on / off were alternately sent. I was not in view of the garage door while testing, I was watching buttons on a keypadlinc that are in a scene with the sensor, so my observation may not be accurate. I set up the I/O linc and three keypadlincs in scenes as described in the UD Wiki. I'm happy to know that it will work as you both described. Much simpler and cleaner. I'll re-write my programs. LeeG - I'm not quite following your second post. My I/O linc is set up as follows: Boxes that are checked: LED on TX, Trigger Reverse, Momentary A with hold time of 20 tenths of a second. If it doesn't work after I re-write the programs I'll inquire more. Thanks again!

Program to automatically close garage door at a certain time
I used to have Hal2000 close my garage door at 10:00 pm if it was open. Now I'm trying to transfer this logic to the ISY. I think I will need two programs as follows to make sure the I/O linc triggers the door. I will also repeat these programs 1 minute later in case the door opened instead of closed. Will this work? Anyone have a better set up? If Time is 10:00:00PM And Status 'Garage Door Sensor' is On And Status 'Garage Door Relay' is On Then Set 'Garage Door Relay' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If Time is 10:00:00PM And Status 'Garage Door Sensor' is On And Status 'Garage Door Relay' is Off Then Set 'Garage Door Relay' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
