  1. but i can't send it until next week
  2. this was given to me - i have never used it - it has a power port to recharge it but no power brick - looks like a mini usb port - dc - 5v the other end of the mini usb cable is usb speakers are heavy but i have no clue how they sound if you want it i'll send it - free
  3. i have a sunset program that turns on several lights every night. i turn most off at a set time and one that turns off at sunrise - every night - no one knows if you are at home or away and there is an ambient level of lighting to navigate the house. but if you want to do it your way, i'd enable a sunset program when you arm your system and disable it when you disarm the security system. that way, your lights are not on during the day when you don't need them and no one outside the house knows they are on i'd also manipulate the turn off a time to turn off program when the system is armed/disarmed
  4. to be clear - i am not attacking ud or its products there are two truths in life the day you have no bumper to bumper warranty for your bmw or mb, that is the day that i will no longer own that vehicle vehicle the day i no longer have an isy, that is the day i rip out insteon
  5. is this bluetooth only? i assume the bt radio is in the eisy. if so, the speakers will have to be close. maybe i look for solutions that are more whole house than others. i have echos throughout the house - and sonos. another single use box in every room? the advantage might be that setting up spoken responses are easier than echo routines. but it is possible to do and alexa's voice is pleasant. and i have always been impressed with the echo device sound quality (for a small box). but the sound quality from sonos amazes me. my todo list is to set up preferred speakers for echo devices to use sonos. i love my eisy (or isy or whatever) but my approach to home automation is less reliant or it compared to years ago. With insteon, its a must have. for other things, its nice but not involved. i do not need the eisy for hvac control. echo handles that. same for televisions. (but being a nerd, i have the plugins) i have migrated more to voice control - but only where i can avoid formulaic speech. "turn on the den left sofa lamp" is not something anyone will ever use. "turn on the lights" is something people will use. with echo (and the eisy) its possible to use 'turn on the lights' in any room and it works for each room. (when ud put in the synonym function of its portal, that was genius - it helps to reduce formulaic speak.) i'd vote to integrate it into sonos. but i know that could be problematic. the best news is we now have a choice - bt speakers or echo routines.
  6. the battery is its own unit - plugs into the motor - i have extra units that i can rob a battery from
  7. tried exclude device with it plugged in - it excluded might be the battery - i'll replace it
  8. oh - yes - i tried that - no response i am using the eisy with whatever radio it uses for z-wave - i do NOT have 'zmatter'' enabled (whatever that is) i do have z-wave enabled
  9. yes - but have never used the replace on a z-wave how do i remove the device rather than the node?
  10. using the motor control node the device stopped responding so i was replacing it - worked fine for a week - then nothing - no responding at all - so i was going to replace it - after removing the failed node
  11. not sure what the difference is - this is what the devices look like i think this one was added twice - and i might have a battery problem - it should be fully charged but i powered it with the charging device and it might be responding - it might be that i included it with it plugged in and it is not seen as a battery powered device lemme look at x-ray
  12. placed the isy in exclude - then pressed the button - nothing used the 'remove failed node' and get the above
