Now I’m trying to restore the ISY from either a backup I just made today or one made in February. File | Restore ISY (select backup, confirm prompts) happens on both backup files

My dad fixed AC when he was a young man, and I’d go on jobs with him. But I’m too scared to hook up gauges. I know about AC to the point they can’t lie and not get caught.

I tried File | Restore Moss, (PLM) and a few seconds later Do I have to “discover” or tell ISY about this device?

We had the biggest lightning storm that I’ve ever experienced last night. One particular strike, where you could see and hear it at the same time. What got fried, despite being on surge protectors? Two Ethernet switches. So internet wasn’t down, just half my network. My garage door opener. Well, I wasn’t sure but the GFI circuit it was plugged into was certainly dead. I hook the garage up to an extension cord so I can go buy some replacements, yup garage door opener dead! At this point I head upstairs to shower the grime off me. My AC isn’t working. FML! Now add insult to injury, my PLM looks bricked. I have a backup named: ISY-Backup.v5.3.0__Fri 2025.02.21 10.13.47 I also have a backup PLM I bought years ago the same time my last PLM died. The current (and dead) PLM is model 24135 Revision 2.4 and the backup PLM is also 24135, but revision 2.3 Should I be able to restore this backup from Feb 21 of this year to my ISY994i and this new PLM? What’s the proper procedure? Before I try and switch the PLM, I was able to take a backup of my current ISY setup. Will this backup restore to the new PLM, even though the PLM was dead when I took the backup? I guess I’m asking if the backup uses database entries instead of relying on the PLM itself
  5. I noticed they have an e-commerce option to buy a 2477D ($67 including shipping). Are they actually fulfilling orders? Where are they getting their hardware? I thought they were tango-uniform.
  6. I’m thanking the universe for buying a backup a few years ago. If I can find it.
  7. For years I’ve thought about what it would take to switch from Insteon to Zwave dimmers, and every single time I decided it’s easier to just replace a dead switch with a new one. Even now, I’ll probably just end up buying replacements on eBay. But if I absolutely had to gut my entire house and start over, what’s your preferred brand of Zwave dimmer switch? And, are you resigned to using a hub to control scenes? The thing I loved about Insteon is being able to have all switches linked together, without a hub running a scene. One tap of a switch and everything turns on smooth as Barry White. None of this popcorn raggedness.
  8. It’s been a long time since I played with this, but I’m having an issue with some Insteon switches in my ISY gui. I have a switch called KitchenSpot, which is a member of a managed scene called KitchenMain. KitchenSpot appears in that scene as a RED node, and when I click on it, I see all of the Insteon switches which have been linked to it. When I click on KitchenSpot under folders (BLUE) I see something completely different. I see 5 options I can modify and the “membership” tree. How can I modify the Insteon links in the first (RED) case? In other words I want to link another Insteon switch to turn on (responds to) when the KitchenSpot paddle is pressed independently of the ISY.
  9. I also tried these instructions: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY_Portal_Admin_Console But they don’t actually show how to get the ISY launcher working, so they’re incomplete.
  10. I have a fresh Windows 10 OS. What do I need to do to get into the admin console? I tried following the instructions at https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Downloadable_Documentation but both “start” and “admin” jnlp files aren’t doing anything.
