Switch triggering a state variable to activate alexa
@dbwarner5 Well i'll be. Without making any changes including leaving the variable in the changed state with each trigger, the routine has started working. Thanks everyone for the great insights.

Switch triggering a state variable to activate alexa
@bmercier Thanks for the insight. I originally had it setup in this way, but the light continued to turn off seconds after turning on. Maybe an issue with my program?

Switch triggering a state variable to activate alexa
Hi All. I've setup a physical insteon switch to trigger a state variable change. I've then exposed that variable to alexa Activating the switch successfully changes the state variable, and will sometimes run the alexa routine. It's very inconsistent and I can't quite tell where the failure is. Is this just a very slow configuration or should i be expecting a quick enough of a response such that switch is activated and light comes on? Any suggestions? Thanks PB

Accessory building on separate power meter
@Guy Lavoie The device will all be purchased new so they will be the dual band versions. The building will be approx 100' apart so i guess i was thinking it was too far. @atmarosi not familiar with REST API. I've just done a quick search and read and though is something i know zero about, it seems this would need to send commands via the portal? Is this correct?

Accessory building on separate power meter
Greetings all Not sure if I’m in the right form topic, but I’m hoping someone might have some insight. I’m in the midst of building an accessory building on my property, but due to logistics our power company requires it to be on a separate meter. Is there anyway I can have the switches and outlets in my accessory building on my current home polisy without any direct power connection? I will have the building on the same Wi-Fi network, though I know Insteon is not Wi-Fi based. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Geofence working but programs no longer executing
HI All I hope I can explain this clearly enough. I'm using UD Mobile Geofence and have had great success with this program setup prior to some changes I made recently to account for someone already being home. I adjusted my programs to account for the fact that either my wife or I are home and that only certain parameters should be executed ie. lights not changing when i'm in the midst of something. The issue I'm having is that the Geofence node is changing status for mine and my wife's neighborhood fence and our home fence appropriately, but the programs will now not run. The first programs that will run based on geofence status are "PB home W AP" or "PB home WO AP". These setup lighting based on if one is already home or the one arriving is the first one home. PBHome W AP - [ID 008A][Parent 002B] If 'Home / Peter' Occupied is True And 'Neighborhood / Peter' Occupied is True And 'Home / Annette' Occupied is True Then Run Program 'PB Arriving Home W Resident' (If) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Based on condition "PB Arriving HOme With Resident" (which i have disabled to prevent the time condition from triggering program) will be triggered by "PBHOme W AP". I'm assuming this is the component which is not being tirggered. I'm suscpicious it is due to the fact i have it disabled, but my understanding is that the program will still run the "if" and onward if triggered by another program. PB Arriving Home W Resident - [ID 0089][Parent 002B][Not Enabled] If From Sunset To 5:00:00AM (next day) Then Set '#House / Arriving Home w Resident' On Wait 2 minutes Set 'Security / Security' Off Wait 3 minutes Set 'Garage / Garage Lights' Off Set 'Mud Room / Mud Room Lights' Off Set 'Hallway / Hallway' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') -- Manully running the "If" statment triggers the subsequent scenes without issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Peter Please excuse any amusing auto-corrections

UD Mobile Geofence triggers not working
This was a valuable exercise as I was able to also set up UD Mobile for Geofence based on the occupancy nodes. seems like a cleaner and easier solution than configuring state variables. Thanks @Javiand @Geddy

UD Mobile Geofence triggers not working
OK! This explains it. I was certain I’d received notifications at some point regarding these programs being activated Never even occurred to me the term “switched” meant the physical action on the hardware.

UD Mobile Geofence triggers not working
So in the end it was a detail i had not picked up in my programming. Though i thought i had historically recieved notifications from every program, I now have to assume i was only getting a partial catchment. Maybe someone can explain why, but my programs set to trigger when "is switched on" did not trigger a notification, while my programs that were set to "status is on" successfully send a notification every time. Would love to know the difference. Thanks for all the help.

UD Mobile Geofence triggers not working
Thanks Javi. Really appreciate that you make yourself available as much as you do. It appears that maybe only the Notifications are failing to send when the programs have been triggered, though I will definitely look into Occupancy Node Server more. Is this a better approach then solely using UD mobile geofencing and state variables? Also wondering if you can possibly tell me if the old "Emails/Notifications" component in Admin Console still functions, or has it been replaced with Notification Center? When i run "test" i do receive the test sms, but none of my programs are sending notifications. Thanks

UD Mobile Geofence triggers not working
Greetings. Been awhile since i last dove into my Polisy/programming and currently feel very lost. Recently I noticed none of my geofence based programs and notifications were working. UD Mobile Home and neighborhood Geofence triggers a statevariable change which in turn acts as conditions for many programs within my home. Variables change, but programs or notifications are not triggered. Some time ago I carelessly installed the new notification center as well as the Occupancy Node server as I read it would help if multiple users were within the same home. The Occupancy Node server created nodes within Admin Console but for the life of my i can't figure how they would be associated with UD Mobile. Historical setup is to use "Emails/Notifications" with the recipients being my cell number and email. Feeling somewhat defeated as I'm not really sure where to look. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Leak Sensors - SMS alert format changed
@Clive Alcock I'm realizing that I may have failed to offer clear details on what I was trouble shooting. Your solution definitely gave a line break for the email based alerts. My issue is with SMS alerts. The <br/> does not correct the jumbling of alert content within sms.

Leak Sensors - SMS alert format changed
@Clive AlcockOk thanks. I'm slow to respond but will definitely try this. Michele had responded to a ticket i had submitted and informed me this was something that would be addressed in the next release.

No luck with the linebreak in html or txt.

Ok. Thanks Tried changing the heartbeat variable but after looking at the program details i think that takes 25 hours to trigger an alert
