Home assistant is great as a front end. For the most part, if you set it up right, it will work great. The issue with zwave light entities and percent control was fixed several weeks ago but there are ways you could have gotten around it by using the templates.

I did forget to mention that having a combination of ISY and HA gives you so much flexibility to make your head spin. After Shbatim made changes to HA which is in the core code now you can just about do anything Insteon and Zwave. It just takes time to figure out which way to implement you custom automation. Personally, I like using the ISY for its reliability.

Hi everyone. Has anyone figured out how to add blinds to HA using the ISY integration custom devices procedure. The part that I'm having difficulty is the ISY program side to control a varying variable. I would like to keep the programing on the ISY side. I have this working but on the HA side. I'm using IBlinds motor which is read by HA as a light entity. I convert this into a cover entity using the cover template and this works fine. This is than passed on to HomeKit which works as well. I was just curious how I would go about programing this on the ISY side.

Hello everyone. I have a ISY running in conjunction with Home Assistant and HomeKit. I'm on 5.016 and latest Home assistant version. Most of my devices are Zwave. For the most part, the integration is working great. The problem I’m trying to figure out is how to communicate with dimming lights using 0-100 parameters vs 0-255. I can control the dimmer but 100 out of 255 shows up 100% on the ISY. I tried using input numbers but that does not translate well into HomeKit because it shows up as a switch. I tried several light templates and while I can control the on and off feature, I am unable to figure out how to scale the dimmer slider. I'm hoping that some one here has had the same issue and there is an easy fix that I'm missing. This may not be the place to ask the question and if that’s the case I apologize. If someone could point me in the right direction or help me with this I would very much appreciated. I'm new to HA and I’m not big on programming but I can figure things out with a little help.
