Backup of 5.0.16B fails. I used an old ISY for a new installation. Factory reset the ISY and PLM, added new ISY devices, imported some net rules and imported some programs. I get the following error and the backup quits. ISY Backup Error.pdf

That worked, thanks so much

I am having the same problem. I have an ISY 994i with an Insteon thermostat. I was using the Amazon echo to control it and it worked fine. It reported the thermostat setting in Fahrenheit and settings were made in Fahrenheit. I recently switched to google home. Same ISY Portal, same settings. The thermostat with Google Home now reports in Celsius and settings have to be made in Celsius. I have tried everything but cannot get the thermostat to work in Fahrenheit..

I am trying to link my Danalock (original lock version) with Z-wave. This is my first Z-wave connection but I get "Error - An error happened when trying to include Z-Wave" from the Danalock app. Has anybody been able to add a Danalock to the ISY994 Z-Wave ?

I am at the office with the v.40 and did what you asked. I deleted the KPL, factory reset, and then linked the KPL Queried the Insteon Engine Added .1 to a scene with .A No errors to this point Added .1 and .A to another scene and got cannot communicate with .1 Everything acts normal, I can turn the light on and off, it communicates e.t.c I query, write updates and sometimes I get cannot communicate The file is too big for support and I can't add a text filename to this post, how do you want me to send it. Also keep in mind that before A, B, C, D, and E worked on my House #1 F, G, and H did not work. After I reset the KPL and added the scenes in reverse order A and B do not work but all others work. I got "Request Failed" when trying to program the F, G, and H scenes. For Office, All work except H. A and B work fine and exactly as they should. Push A, load turns on, B button light turns off, A button light turns on Push B, load turns off, A button light turns off, B button light turns on This is exactly how the House #1 worked prior to the factory reset and adding the scenes in reverse order.

House #1 is a 2486D v.36 uuid Insteon_UD99 v3.3.1 Office is a 2486D v.40 I got different errors from the Office KPL (which I just received from Smarthome 3 weeks ago). I will try the exercise in the morning at the office to see what I get. The office system is a lot smaller My House #1 is a Pro, the Office not a Pro.

Both KPLs were added new, not replacing a previous KPL. I am able to work on one of the KPLs tonight, if need be I can work on the other tomorrow. House #1 --------- PLM links 398 F, G, and H cannot be done correctly/. I removed the KPL, factory reset and then Queried. I then added starting with the last button first H, then G, E, F, C, and D all added correctly. A and B are issues B (turn off) Button A Off, Load Off When I select A Off I get the message "Keypad Linc local sub-buttons cannot turn off the load! You may want to choose a very low level instead" A (turn on) Button B Off, Load On When I select B off I get the message "Mail Server Failure [server not responding}" C, D, E, F, G, and H all work correctly A and B turn the loads off correctly, the button lights do not respond correctly.

I am trying to create a series of scenes for my KPL 8 2486D v40. A button would turn some switches on, B would turn the same group off C button would turn some other switches on, D would turn the same group off E button would turn some yet other switches on, F would turn the same group off G button would turn some different switches on, H would turn the same group off I set all of the buttons to Toggle(On) Mode I then create 8 scenes with A-H a controller for each of the scenes and then I adjust the levels and turn the opposite button off. I get through 7 of the scenes and all works fine but on the 8th when I try to turn the G button off (in the scene) I get "Request Failed". It shows the button off but when I goto another scene and back it is set as on. When I push the button H it flashes 3 times, the lights get set correctly and G stays on. This happened on 3.2.6 and I just upgraded to 3.3.2 and it does the same thing. I have also tried this on another of my houses and F, G, and H all do the same thing. How can I fix this ?

I replaced the PLM and everything is back up and running normally. I also deleted and then added the Morninglincs and all seems to be running as it should. Thanks

Yes, I did unplug both, plugged in the PLM first then the ISY. I do have my main home system settled down. Two issues still not resolved. 1) Morninig Linc won't connect or talk to the system. I can manually push the button that locks then unlocks the door but I cannot control via the ISY and the status is not correct. How can I update these units ? 2) Motion Detectors do not all register their status. How can I update these units. When I did the PLM restore I did not go around to all of the sensors and put them in setup mode. I have sensors in the system and by the time I went to each one the first ones would time out. Even if I just did one, the PLM resotore takes so long (multiple hours) that they motion detectors quickly time out. My office ISY just informed it was in safe mode so the PLM is shot and I am getting it replaced.

Okay, I have been struggling with this for about a week. This is a very large system and I can't seem to get it to work at all. I tried to monitor the communication errors but it was making no sense. I took a PLM from another system and installed it on my home system. I did a restore PLM but the system continues to cycle in busy mode and will not stop. It continually goes from 1% to 100% on all different kinds of updates. It does this for hours and hours. I try to unplug the ISY or restart and it just starts back up. I can control the switches which is an improvement from the old PLM I installed the old PLM in my office (small system) and restored the PLM. I cannot control any of the switches at all for the office. I believe the original PLM is bad but I can't get the replacement PLM to work on my home system. Any suggestions ? Mike

About two weeks ago my home ISY just started to show many communication errors. Now when I log in to the ISY, it show system busy for about 10 minutes as it cycles through many "making adjustments". During this process I get many "cannot communicate" errors. I go through the logs and cannot find what the issue is. I have not changed the configuration much before this happened and it has been running fine for over 2 years. I have added nothing new to the house that would cause an interference. Not sure where to start looking as to what to fix.

Release 3.1.15 (Beta) Is Now Available
handyman300 replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Nope everything saved. I even rebooted the isy99i and tried to set the state variable from the then statement by itself again and I can't set it. I added two more state variables and created a program to set them to 1 and a second program to set them to 0. After creating the two additional variables then miraculously the 2nd state variable $Door_Open_Away_On is setting correctly but the two new ones do not. I updated my programs and they worked as they should. I then went back to make sure I could repeat the problem and now all four work correctly and I can set them. I don't know why they didn't work initially and what caused them to start working but something is amiss. I had them originally in a folder (no conditions) but I never moved them and they are still in the folder. Running 3.1.15 on this particular installation. -

I split the program and now the wait happens as it should. Thanks I still cannot get the state variable to be set to 1. I even created a separate program with the variable all by itself in the then and I run it and it will not change.
