  1. I just ordered the Wireless Tag outdoor probe to monitor my hot tub. Will let you know how it works out in a month or so. Not so sure I will actually put the probe in the water. I may just put it above water. I am not after the exact water temperature as much as I want to ensure the my tub is warm and the heater is working. I want to ensure that if the tub should lose power or if the heater dies that I don't end up with a frozen tub. I see -40C temperatures here in Ottawa so I am thinking a tub without a heater could freeze solid in a day or so.
  2. I have also just set up a test system with 5.0.11B. I too has disappointed that the Fibaro which worked great in 4.6.2 is no longer working in 5.0.11B. I do not like improved support for the Aeotec MultiSensor 6 (ZW100). I am really starting to question my long long wait on full zwave support within ISY. I have been impressed by the spectrum and rate of product development in the zwave space. Vendors like Aeon Labs, Fibaro and even GE are creating interesting IoT products with zwave as the base. I am thinking I might just end up dumping my 10+ year investment in ISY and moving everything over to a HomeSeer setup.
  3. Funny how sometimes I get stuck on making complex OR logic when the simple AND logic is what is required. Many thanks for correcting my simple misdirection.
  4. I would like to have some lights to come on 30 minutes before sunset but not before 5pm in the winter. What is the best way to program this so that it works all year long? i.e. in the summer 30 minutes before sunset could be as early as 3pm but I don't want lights to come on until 5pm. In the middle of summer sunset might be at 8pm so I would like the lights to come on at 7:30pm. Thoughts? Peter
  5. First, I have an ADT system for my alarm system main due to my concern about fire for CO alarms where I want ADT to immediately react to the alarm. However I have ISY as an 'alert' system for doors, windows and motion within the house. You question was one of arming the system. For about 5 years I have been arming the system with a two step approach. Inside the house I have a Smarthome 2487S KeypadLinc Dual Band and as I leave the house I set one of the buttons to the ON state. On the outside of the house I have an INSTEON IOLinc Proximity Reader Kit with the RFID tag on my house keys. That allows me to enable the second input to the system. I then have a folder of prrograms that are enabled when both conditions are set. I get an email alert anytime I have a door, window, side garden gate open or there is any motion in the house. It has been extremely reliable for more than 5 years. That said, I am not getting ride for ADT anytime soon. Peter
  6. Please tell me more about this WiFi controllers that you reference. Thanks Peter
  7. Thanks for the link to Volt Lighting. VOLTĀ® Multi-Tap Low Voltage Transformers for Landscape Lighting looks very capable. I see that I can do the simple thing and have the INSTEON Dual Band Outdoor On-Off Plug In Appliance Module control all power to the transformer. However that does not allow me to control the individual low voltage light zones unless I have multiple transformers. Specifically, I want to control the follow zone separately, walkway lights, deck lights, BBQ zone lighting, SPA zone lighting. So am I see an industry gap with respect to zwave or insteon control of all the different low voltage zones that exist in outdoor living space? Thoughts? Thanks Peter
  8. I have been successfull with the INSTEON Dual Band Outdoor On-Off Plug In Appliance Module. I have two that I use every winter. One for the block heater in the truck and another to control Christmas lights. So for sure it can control the deck lighting trasformer. Was looking reduce the number of things hanging off the outside AC plug. Any thoughts on this device to the low voltage control? http://www.fortrezz.com/io-modules 2x Relay Outputs Connect any low voltage (up to 24VDC, 10Amp) device and control it via wireless comman And most importantly is it controlable via ISY. I do have the zwave mode. Peter
  9. So I am installing a new deck and finally adding in some low voltage deck lighting. I want to be able to control the lights with my ISY. I guess I am thiniknig there are two options. 1. Control the AC power to the low voltage transfor via the INSTEON Dual Band Outdoor On-Off Plug In Appliance Module. The whole system is outside in the elements inlcuding the -30C Ottawa Canada winters. 2. Run the low voltage lines out of the transform back into the house and control them via the INSTEON IOLinc Low Voltage Input Output Interface Module. Thoughts on issues with either approach. Anything other ideas. Note the -30C requirement for Ottawa. Thanks Peter
  10. For the one I have it is always reporting the same negative value, regardless of what I have plugged into it. Also of note, before I reset the device is was reporting some crazy large value like 5678000 (or something) for the accumulated power. Now the accumulated power is reporting zero and it never changes. In fact accumulated power is I am most interested in tracking. I guess I will check chalk this one up as broken. Thanks Peter
  11. While here is an example of one that is working.
  12. Please see a screen capture of the negative value reported.
  13. I have been using 3 different iMeter (2423A1) for some time and it has been working well with ISY 994i/IR. I have a program set to query the iMeters every 15 minutes so that the log files are capturing the accumulated power over the day. I export the log every few months and complete an analysis of the power consumption per device I am monitoring. I am looking for long trend lines on power usage for my media center, deep freeze, home server, etc. All has been working great until a few months ago one of the iMeter (v.87) started to report negative values for current state and the accumulated power was some huge number. I have reset the device and even changed what is plugged into it. But, I am still getting negative values reported. The two other iMeter (v.00) and are continuing to report correctly. I have added in a fourth iMeter (v.30) and it is also working correctly. Do I have a dead iMeter or is there a new issue with v.87. My ISY is at 4.3.26 and I am not sure if this issue with the iMeter was a result of an upgrade to this release last fall. Thanks Peter
  14. Can't believe I missed that feature after all these years. Meanwhile I had tried to use the ideas posted here which was much more complex than I wanted. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=10887&start=15&hilit=date+time+program Peter
  15. WOW! That was totally not obvious to me. What release was that added? This opens up a whole new world of programs for me. Many Thanks! Peter
