  1. Thanks for the quick reply. That did it! I kept the existing links and it works great. Regards, Ed
  2. The upgrade installed without a hitch. I was able to link to the morninglinc and have one On device and one Off device in my device list. Neither is controlling the morninglinc. The Morninglinc Insteon unit will control the lock when the set button is pressed and the LED toggles on and off as advertised. Nothing I do with the ISY will either change the LED status or activate the lock. Otherwise the upgrade is working fine. Best regards, Ed
  3. The upgrade went without a hitch. Just curious, what's in works for ELK. I'm interfacing fine with mine. Also, any update on how things are coming with Morninlinc? Regards, Ed
  4. This device just keeps getting better. Usefull stuff also. You guys show the SH folks how to really make a nice controller/interface/web server. I've had mine integrated with an ELK for a while and love it! Thanks, Ed
  5. Pretty much all BIOSs have a setting on what to do after a power interruption(stay off, turn on, or go to last state). I set mine to turn on after an interruption and plug it in to an appliancelinc. If it's off I can cycle the appliancelinc and the computer comes on. I shut it down through remote desktop if I'm not at home. Ed
  6. Hi Michel, Thanks for getting back. I just tried both units (a 991 and 26), and can't duplicate a single glitch. Don't ask why, but they both work fine, and the emails are showing as from the gmail accounts vice alerts@universal_devices.com. BTW, by mistake I put in the SMTP log in user ID as just 'username' when gmail says to use 'username@gmail.com'. That's when it all started to work fine. I went back with the old @gmail.com trying to duplicate the issue, and that worked too. Do we still go through your server to get to gmail? Thanks for your continued support, Ed
  7. First I'd like to echo the responses to jtara's rant and add that I've found this to be the best overall Insteon controller out there. You guys have been great about working through bugs in beta software in development and I appreciate the support. I'm having some issues with emails that I need some help on. I've tried 2 gmail accounts and the default UD server and things have been inconsistent at best. I'm getting 2 issues. First, failed emails both on the configuration page test (request failed message and no email) and when programs send an email. This happens with both the default and gmail smtp settings. Does a gmail setting still go through the UD server to get to gmail? Second, it seems changing the smtp settings sometimes doesn't stick. My 99i will say I've got the gmail smtp settings but the emails that do come through come from UD. The ISY26 I've set up for someone else has sent some email from the gmail address, but when I changed it back to default (trying to find a setting that's workng better) I can't get it back to gmail. I'll enter the gmail info, click save, then next time I open the admin console it's back to default. I've set up 2 gmail accounts. One has never taken, the other will stick in the admin console, but only once out of about 5 tries have the emails come from gmail vice UD, even thought the console sais the gmail settings are there. Thanks again for your continued support. Ed
  8. This product keeps getting better and better. I use the enable/disable from the web interface. I'd like to see it stay. Thanks, Ed
  9. Michel, Thanks for the response. I'm guessing it's more noise or PLM related issues, but since AnthemAVM and IndyMike had mentioned similar things I figured I'd mention it also. I'll try the switchlinc in my home this week to see if it links OK, but I did finally get it to link to the other ISY. Could you please expand on the 4X4 with the EZIO8SA, possibly in that forum. I would really like to understand the in's and out's of getting these things talking. I have some friends in the oil field bussines who could really use some input monitoring as well as the email notifications. I'm trying to develop an application, but until I understand how to get these talking to each other every time I'm reluctant to tell them I can do it. Thanks, Ed
  10. I had a heck of a time trying to add a 2476D switchlinc and an EZIO8SA. I'm not sure if it was ISY or PLM trouble, but it wasn't easy. I tried a lot of reboots and factory resets and finally got them to link. I tried the ISY auto (start linking), and New INSTEON device using all 3 options for the existing links. When I would enter the device ID and select any of the 3 options for the existing links, I got returned to the normal GUI without anything being added. I tried an older ver 52 PLM, a new 2.75 out of the box and the 2476D was right out of the box also. This stuff is great when it works and I look forward to learning how to overcome these issues. Best regards, Ed
  11. I like it. Seems rock solid. Ed
  12. Your web server is giving this message for the 99 update, I get the 26 one fine. I've tried logging in from 2 different computers. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /updates/Insteon_UD99/2.6.4/insteon.zip on this server. 13. I routinely get errors where a query returns a can't communicate with a device. I have 31 devices and average one or two errors every query.I do another query and it communicates fine. could it be that this is causing a glitch which is causing the lockup?
  14. Since yours seems to work fine for some of us with problems on ours, do you think it could be related to older equipment or a less than perfect home setup? You're most welcome to access mine in any way you want. If you care to, let me know and I'll send you the access info. Ed
  15. Hi, I figured I would start a thread for this since it's getting mixed in with other topics. I was away all weekend using my Sprint Mogul and had the following glitches: From the Pocket Internet Explorer browser I would ocassionally get the following "The page you are looking for cannot be found due to unknown error 0x80072f78" From my laptop using a tethered connection through the Sprint phone I kept getting asked to log in again, sometimes two or three times before the next page would come up. I don't know if that tells you anything but figured I would pass it along. Best regards, Ed
