  1. I am not certain that this is important but just in case I should note that I was having earlier problems which I resolved on my own. The first time I attempted to log in to the Admin console the password window failed to initialize. I verified that I had the latest Java files (both 32 & 64) and cleared the Java cache. Even after that it still took as many as three times for the Admin Console to come up fully operational - this is the first indication of "poor communication" between the computer and ISY. I also upgraded to the latest firmware (2.8.7). For a while I was receiving the "Discovering Nodes Retry" error - I checked to see the PLM status in diagnostics to find that 2413s was not connected. I tried a couple times to reset the PLM to factory but that did not help. The problem did not get resolved until I rebooted the ISY. Even after this when I started the Start Linking Devices to get my Appliance Link back onto the device tree the Admin was unresponsive. The only way I was able to add the device after removing it was to manually add it via "add insteon device". The device has worked properly since then - but only occasionally has a reported status in the AC. Hope this helps
  2. Thanks for your quick reply - however I followed your instructions explicitly and I am unable to determine the status of the one device I have connected to the network - the device will respond to the on/off commands in the console as well in a program.
  3. I do not believe it is an issue of how I am turning it on/off as I am doing it via the admin console. I have also confirmed that the laptop I am using (running OSX 10.6) has the firewall disabled. The most important detail I believe is that when I log in to the admin console the status is either there and works perfectly or it is not there and nothing I have tried has made a difference including: resetting the PLM. rebooting the ISY, clearing the browser cache, clearing the Java cache, changing the Java order to 32 bit first, using firefox instead of safari, and turning off/unplugging potential interference sources. If I do not get this resolved then ISY is a non starter for me as one of my main reasons for going this route is for reliable remote monitoring - so far I have been unable to get consistent local monitoring. Thanks for your excellent help.
  4. So far I only have an Appliance Module on my network and I am having troubles with the current State not showing up consistently. What can I do to have the current state show up consistently? Thank-you
  5. Greetings, I am just starting my foray into the world Insteon/ISY99. I am coming from a basic X10 setup. I have the ISY99 connected to an Apple Time Capsule. When I select Help/About I get the the ISY identifier, an IP of 10.0.1.XX but no http or port#. Is this par for the course on TC's (require port forwarding to 443) or is there something I am overlooking? I would really like to get the internet connection up and running. Thanks
