Hello. I have Comcast for internet and an Airport Extreme router. I think Comcast is changing IPs and I have lost my ISY 994 connection to the internet for a few months now. Time to fix it. Based on what I'm reading either I: 1. purchase a router that permits setting DDNS; or 2. get a Raspberry Pi behind the router which I know very little about. Are those my only options? I would like to connect to the internet again and not sure what my next step is. I have Logitech Alert security cameras and a Nest thermostat. I am just stymied here. Thank you for any and all help. Mike

I had my HVAC professional install my new HVAC UNIT Friday and he finished today and was installing the Insteon 2441Th. He has done this for tens of years and he couldn't figure out the C connection wire. The instructions mention a C wire but do not clearly identify it. So I called Insteon and it took about 30 minutes before I got someone who was generally knowledgable. I found a better PDF on the Internet than the installation instructions. As it is, this contractor guessed and put the C wire on the right location. The thermostat did not respond. So I am returning it. Very disappointing for what should have been a very exciting time. This was Saturday and I can't have him futzing with a product that should already be ready for prime time. Going to return it.

LogicTech Camera Communication Harmony with Insteon?
Mike_405 replied to rgs455returns's topic in ISY994
Bill, it is not simple because the cameras are not IP based. I simply use a Home and Away program to turn on and off the inside cameras connected to a utility plug. The cameras have exceptional quality as they are close to HD. You can connect them to your router via Power Over Ethernet as opposed to Power over electric lines. For $79/year you can now access your camera directly from the iPad/iPhone app and view video clips stored on the SDHC cards. That is sort of an IP task. You can also turn on and off e-mail notifications via the iPad app. But using Insteon would be the ultimate ease of use. -
Stodd1515 You should go down to the MobiLinc board further down and get some help setting up your MobiLinc Pro. I have MobiLinc Pro on the iPhone 4 and it works fine via cellular. Same with my iPad via wifi anywhere. You may have to learn how to login to your router if you don't already know how. Here are my MobiLinc settings under lighting controller: Local http:// 10.0.1.7 -I set the IP address after logging into my wireless router. Local Port 80 Secure https:// To find this type into google "what is my IP address" and hit enter Secure port 443 Connect method https UUID of ISY this is the MAC address of your ISY. it should be printed on the outside of the ISY.

Release 3.1.16 (Beta) Is Now Available

Updated to 3.16 after a couple of tries. Eventually I'll be able to update from memory! The iMac makes the process a little different. When it is stuck at 2% I know it is not going to make it. -

Andy, thanks for the tip. I generally use Firefox but if I use Safari I'll look for this. -

Gerwitz: I'm using an iMac. First, I think that Safari does not play nice with ISY. So use Firefox or another browser. Also, use http: See my above post. I had the same sticking point at 2% and went from https: to http: when installing the update. It went fine after that. Mike -

Uploaded 3.1.10 and all is working fine. Figured out why I wasn't receiving e-mails. I changed my password! My one motion sensor is working fine! Very cool... -
I tried to use import and it didn't work. I tried to import the file for wind alert on this page at the bottom. Maybe the Import Wiki could be expanded upon for novices like myself. Thank you! http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rt_Program

Hello Michel, I have 3.1.2. I have the networking and weatherbug modules. Also, I wrote an e-mail that is delivered at 3:55PM with the current weather conditions at home before I hit the train. I wrote a networking program that brings in the weatherbug alerts webpage. I just need to get that data into a notification. It's a work in process. Not sure if it can be done.

I haven't spent much time on it yet, but I signed up for weatherbug API's. I have the network module bringing the data in for Weather Alerts and when I test the network page it does bring back a response. However, I don't know how to create the e-mail to populate the data I have from Weather Alerts. Maybe Weather Alerts and Forecast could be an incremental component for Weatherbug and charge a price for this incremental service.

OOPS. I see this was already responded to... If you look at Rand's answer 3/4/2009 there is light and light rate. The unit of measure I'm not sure but the rate tells you is it getting lighter or darker. In the morning a light amount of 58% tells you it is still getting light and it will likely get brighter if there aren't clouds in the sky. A light rate of 2.5% means it is getting 2.5% brighter every hour. The designation is light rate per hour. I've though of writing a program to turn on lights on weekends if the light rate between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm is 25% or less. something like that.

Matapan, as Mac users, I use iMac, we need to use https; I always got stuck at that point as it always failed. Then I noticed a post that said use https. I have another problem with internet connectivity which I'll have to ask some help again. Forgot to write down how I configured it last time with help of the support staff.
