  1. Here I added another device and it sees the links but doesn't look like it crawls them or adds them. 2008/05/25 09:44:19 : ---- Initializing the linked devices ---- 2008/05/25 09:44:19 : ---- Add remaining devices ---- 2008/05/25 09:44:19 : [ 6 F9 C7 1] Reading all links 2008/05/25 09:44:52 : [ 6 F9 C7 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/05/25 09:45:08 : [ Time] 09:45:12 1(0) 2008/05/25 09:45:17 : LINK:6 F9 C7 1 : 0FF8 : 0 : Adding device 00D16300 2008/05/25 09:45:17 : LINK:6 F9 C7 1 : 0FF0 : 1 : Adding device 0069E300 2008/05/25 09:45:17 : LINK:6 F9 C7 1 : 0FE8 : 2 : Adding device 00D16300 2008/05/25 09:45:17 : LINK:6 F9 C7 1 : 0FE0 : 3 : Adding device 0502F600 2008/05/25 09:45:17 : [ 6 F9 C7 1] Finding linked devices 2008/05/25 09:45:18 : [ 6 F9 C7 1] Node added to ISY 2008/05/25 09:45:18 : [ 0 D1 63 1] Reading all links 2008/05/25 09:45:27 : [ 0 D1 63 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/05/25 09:45:51 : [ 0 D1 63 1] ** Not Added ** Restore node Failed 2008/05/25 09:45:51 : [ 0 69 E3 1] Reading all links 2008/05/25 09:50:47 : [ 0 69 E3 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/05/25 09:51:09 : [ 0 69 E3 1] ** Not Added ** Restore node Failed 2008/05/25 09:51:10 : [ 5 2 F6 1] Reading all links 2008/05/25 09:51:34 : [ 5 2 F6 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/05/25 09:51:58 : [ 5 2 F6 1] ** Not Added ** Restore node Failed 2008/05/25 09:51:58 : ---- All Remaining Device Added ---- 2008/05/25 09:51:58 : ---- Start: Generate Scenes from links ---- 2008/05/25 09:51:58 : ---- End: Generate Scenes from links ----
  2. Here's a snap of the log (level 2) when I try to add a device: 2008/05/25 09:37:12 : ---- Initializing the linked devices ---- 2008/05/25 09:37:12 : ---- Add remaining devices ---- 2008/05/25 09:37:13 : [ 6 82 E 1] Reading all links 2008/05/25 09:37:29 : [ 6 82 E 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/05/25 09:37:53 : LINK:6 82 E 1 : 0FF8 : 0 : Adding device 00D16300 2008/05/25 09:37:53 : LINK:6 82 E 1 : 0FF0 : 1 : Adding device 502F600 2008/05/25 09:37:53 : [ 6 82 E 1] Finding linked devices 2008/05/25 09:37:53 : [ 6 82 E 1] Node added to ISY 2008/05/25 09:37:54 : [ 0 D1 63 1] Reading all links 2008/05/25 09:38:03 : [ 0 D1 63 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/05/25 09:38:26 : [ 0 D1 63 1] ** Not Added ** Restore node Failed 2008/05/25 09:38:26 : [ 5 2 F6 1] Reading all links 2008/05/25 09:38:50 : [ 5 2 F6 1] Adding device to ISY 2008/05/25 09:39:14 : [ 5 2 F6 1] ** Not Added ** Restore node Failed 2008/05/25 09:39:14 : ---- All Remaining Device Added ---- 2008/05/25 09:39:14 : ---- Start: Generate Scenes from links ---- 2008/05/25 09:39:14 : ---- End: Generate Scenes from links ---- What does ** Not Added ** mean?
  3. Question: I think if I understood this right is if I 'start linking' with an Insteon device that has links to the rest of the network, that the ISY should crawl those links and build a device table - is that right? Will it crawl device to device if it finds a link? I used Powerhome in the past to setup and manage my linking. I'm not getting that behaviour competely. I had a 3way setup and pointed to one switch and it found the scene and other partner switch. But I know all my switches are linked back to my PLC (and controlinc) but it doesn't seem to find anything. The discovery dialog runs for about 5 minutes. Is there anything I can check? Change? Turn up logging somehow? What for? I've also tried to add a device manually, the controlinc, but it won't add it. I'm using FW 2.6.4, Java 1.6 update 5 (build 1.6.0_05-b13), and disabled web protection on my PC-cillan software. All other functions seem to be working for me.
  4. So I'm slightly confused yet - see if I have this right. I'd like to walk into my bathroom at night and when I tap 'on' have the light dim up slowly to 50%. What I see as options are: 1) Use the 'if off' and 'switch off' turn on to 50% - the only issue with this is that I have to train everyone to use the light switch "backwards" at night when the brain is on auto pilot. 2) Use a scene (which I may be understanding wrong) So I created a new scene and put the bathroom light in it as a responder. I then set teh max light level and dim arte for the scene. Then a wrote a proram that says between a certain time, if control is on then scence is on. If Control '03.EB.D2.1' is switched On Then Set Scene 'BathroomNight' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') This doesn't seem to work though as the scene reports 50% in the ISY inetrface but the light is actually on to 100% - what did I do wrong? Can I not separate rate the local load control and have it trigger a scene on the same switch? Thanks for the help getting started. I'm sure a few programs in I'll "get it".
