Thanks. It would be nice if this was more obvious. In the past there was an administration tab, that when you opened it, it would ask if you wanted to synchronize.
-
I can not find how to synchronize using this update
-
Same here

After.buying a new PLM and still not connecting, I solved the problem by separating and reconnecting the DB9 connection on the serial connector, a few times then power cycling the EISY
-
And yes, this was after a unplug/ replug and a power cycle of the EISY.
-
Thanks again Paul. It shows "0.0.0 v0 / Not connected.
-
Paul, Thank you for the fast reply. I think the PLM is only a year or two old, but I don't really remember. With all the changes from upgrading to the EISY, setting up a system at another location, and moving things around, I have lost track. It is version model 2413S, revision 2.5 4718. I don't see a date on it. The PLM Links table did not show anything other than a count 0. The scene test show Failed.

Firmware and UI v5.8.0 I have not made any changes to my system in a while. I noticed late yesterday as I went to bed that a motion sensor did not turn on a light. I thought nothing about it. This morning, I noticed that none of my Insteon devices are responding to commands. They do work manually. My Z-Wave devices work. The PLM led is lite. Before I decide the PLM has failed, can anybody recommend some trouble shooting steps?

Same here. I am sorry for the frustration you are having. You have been a tremendous amount of help to me, much more than any other developer on the site. You have been so unselfish with your time with our private emails and texts we have had over the last several weeks. Please email your video. A better idea, post it on YouTube.

Support Thread for: IoX 5.7.1 (Nov 12, 2023)
RRoyceus replied to Administrator's topic in IoX Support
I could not install the update in my Eisy using upgrade packages. I restarted the admin console from the configuration tab. I unplugged the Eisy and restarted, I tried opening the admin console from the LAN. and tried upgrading I tried starting the admin console from the Cloud. In each case, it asks “are you sure you would like to upgrade……” but if I clicked yes, nothing happened. Each time, I wait for hours before seeing if it upgraded. It never did. I tried from my iPad using mobile. It shows getting to 6%, then stopped. On a whim, I decided to try Install developer packages. They installed, then I was upgrade to 5.7.1 successfully using upgrade packages. -
Try this. I found that at times I don't move around enough to trigger the motion. I set a slow ramp rate so when I notice the lights are going off, I wave my hand.

I have just started using these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0851DYWBH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for $30, you can’t beat them. What Z-Wave flow meter are you using? I am working on that project today and trying to find one.

Same thing is happening to me, anytime i minimize it on my iPad

I am still having the problem. Any idea when the fix will happen? Also, since updating the firmware this morning, I cannot add Zigbee devices and existing zigbee devices do not work.
-
I am having the same problem.

This is an amazing Node Server. With it I have full control of my pool using Alexa!

Thank you for the lengthy, very thorough reply. yes, when the problem occurs, I go to a device and see the on level is at 0 when previously it had been set to 100% or a different value. When this happens, at the device, I am use the On Level drop down and chose the desired on level, in most cases 100%. A few are at a lesser value, such as 50%. When I set it I am using the "Write Changes" button after setting the level. " My random thought is that if might even pre-date the Polisy if you used the ISY994 and went from 4.x to 5.x firmware on the ISY994 there was an event in the update process that enabled all programs. You might have made a program ages ago that you thought was disabled, but silently became enabled in an old ISY994 update that you only noticed/experienced recently. Just a theory, but could certainly explain why it was happening during the Polisy time and moved to the eisy. " You are correct, it may predate Polisy. I started with the original ISY probably 20 tears ago and have updated my ISY's many times and upgraded the firmware countless times. I probably have a 100 programs and occasionally happen across an old program that no longer works because of deleted devices or has disabled. I guess it is time to go through them one by one. " " My programs now all have the line: This may have fixed the problem; none of them changed today. We have a large 3 story house. I have automated more things than most and the system has grown to the point that it is extremely complex. I make extensive use of motion sensors to turn on lights. Separate programs turn them off if there is no motion after a period. I taught logic and programing in college 50 years ago so most of the time, I can troubleshoot the system. If my latest changes does not correct it. I will just keep searching for something that may be causing it. As I said, I am taking up to much of everybody's time on this. Maybe the post will help somebody else if they have the same problem. Thanks for everybody's help, but I think it is time to stop the discusion..

I have been meaning to monitor my pool level for a good while. Most of the solutions I came up with nvolved a lot of equipment and programming beyond the time I wanted to spend the time and money on. I ended up with a somewhat costly, but still relatively simple solution. The simple and low cost part was to use Z-Wave leak sensors. I added automated valves which added to the cost, but was still simple. I live on the coast near Houston, Texas. We get a lot of rain and normally the only problem we have is too high a pool water level due to rain. This summer has been brutally hot and I am having to constantly add water. I added water last weekend, Thursday, my wife called and said the pool pump was making a strange noise. It turned out it was sucking air due to a low water level. I decided it was time to do something. i had recently purchased (2) Aeotec leak detectors as spares on Amazon prime day. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BYFPP6HM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 i mounted them to a skimmer cover. One probe is mounted to a low level. If it is off (no leak detected), a program sends a text saying “the pool level is low” and opens a valve using a Zooz actuator https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09G82YM3B/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to add water to the pool. The valve adds water for a time period, then closes. The other is mounted high. If it is on (leak detected), a program sends a text message “high water level”, drain some water from the pool.” A valve mounted on the pump discharge is opened via a second ball valve with a Zooz actuator for a time period to drain water from the pool. This protects the leak detectors bodies from getting flooded. My wife said I went overboard. I could have just used the leak detectors and avoided the cost of the Zooz actuators. My comeback, was that I had ordered the leak sensors and and Zooz actuators on Amazon prime days as spares and knew that some day I would need them. I have ordered a second set of sensors to mount in a second skimmer, then modify my programs to only take actions if both show a high or low level in case the leak sensors malfunction.

Thanks, but that is the first thing that I tried. I would set the on level then write the changes. Yesterday I decided it must be programs so changed all of the programs to on 100%. I also thought it must be related to scenes, but one it happened to before and the one today are not in a scene. I am ready to give up and just live with it.

Thanks Michael. I using Eisy IoX v.5.6.3 Firmware and UI. In my first post, I asked if anybody else has had this problem. if this is a one off reported problem, I would just as soon not waste everybody's time. Eventually I will figure out what the gremlin is. I am also changing my password in case somebody is logging into my system and changing my programs, however I suspect that is not it, the on level would show up as "0", not blank. I am not sure how to use find / replace to search when the value is "On" followed by nothing. I have just gone to each program and looked at it. I have never used adjust scene in any program. Here is a program where the light's on level got changed to 0, actually changed to nothing. Notice, it does not have an "on" level, just says "On". I had checked and fixed the on level on all my programs last night. Another program was also changed this morning. In that case it was a Z-wave device, so I think we can rule out it being an Insteon problem like I initially suspected. That device and program had worked flawlessly for at least a year. Here is the program after I fixed it: After fixing it, I saved the program. The same thing happened over night to another program. The device is not connected to a scene.

Node 6 is Hubitat. The request time out is because I kept the window open too long as I wrote the post. I normally do not get that error

I am using the Eisy with the latest firmware. The problem also happened prior to going to the Eisy when using a Polisy. The on level is actually changing. The lights it is happening are controlled with programs or Alexa. The programs have been used for years without problems until the last several months. I have also used Alexa for years. I notice it when either a program or a Alexa command should the light on, but nothing happens. Some switches are triggered by the time of day; some are triggered by a motion detector. I rarely if ever turn and lights on at the switch. When the light does not turn on, I use either the admin console or UD mobile, go to the device, query the device see the on level has been reset to 0. I change it back to 100 or the level I want, then write the changes. The switches will work ok for some times a day, some times a week, then it randomly happens again. I has happened with numerous switches, numerous times.
