Hi All, Thanks for all the replies. Been trying different approaches over the weekend. I did not have success moving the PLM around so, eventually, I gave up and removed the dual band switch from the ISY and then adding it back. Well that worked! I could see the updates in the ISY when manually turning off/on the switch. So I tried that same thing with the non-dual band switch which is right next to it (connected to the same wires) and that did not work. Any thoughts why removing/adding the dual band switch would work and the non-dual band would not? Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for the feedback and help so far! So I finally had a chance to go do some testing today. I disconnected the load side of the switches, opened the Event View on my laptop in the detached garage and watched "Device Communication Events" when turning on/off the switch. No activity at all. So it doesn't appear the load side of the switch was causing interference at least. I also took a ApplianceLinc with me to test and could see any communication from there as well. As before, I could send a command from the ISY and turn the light on but I was unable to see the status change from the ISY when I manually turned on/off the switch. Is there some other way I could boost the commands going from the switch to the PLM if those are weak? One of the switches is dual band the other is not. Both have this same issue. The closest other dual band switch is at the back door which is about 10 feet away. Thanks again.

Thanks for the quick reply. I hit "restore device" for both light switches (there are 2 in the garage) but got the same result. Manually turning on either switch and the status does not update in the ISY. I also opened up the log viewer and checked for device communication. I don't see anything in the log there after manually adjusting the switch. I do see Inteson communication if I send an ON command from the ISY though.

I'm seeing an issue where if I manually turn on/off a light switch in my detached garage I'm not seeing a status update in the ISY (this is a problem as I want it to trigger a program). But, if I use the ISY to turn off/on that same switch everything works. Any known issues where the switch would not send its status back when switched manually? The closest house switch is maybe 10 feet from the garage switch. The house and garage are on the same circuit as well.

Michel, Both IndyMike and I had similar problems updating to 3.1.13. We both corrected the problem by re-entering our Elk passwords into ISY. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=7401 Hi Michel. Thank you for your response. I've followed your directions and sent you an email. apostolakisl, Is the password you're talking about the ELK M1XEP access code (the lower left hand box in my screen shot)? I updated again today, set that password, changed it back and left it blank with no help. I also followed the advice in the link you linked to which said to try accessing the REST commands for arm/disarm but I just get a "The connection was reset" error in return to either command. Just in case anyone else runs into this problem and finds this thread while searching for a solution there was a bug which Michel has fixed. Thanks for all your help! It's greatly appreciated as always.

Another update: I downgraded to 2.8.16 and everything went back to normal and was working great. I updated to 3.1.16 again and I lost communication between the Elk and ISY-99i again.

Ok, I must be missing something. Do I need to purchase the Elk Module now? Under configuration I do not have a dedicated Elk tab but under Configuration/System I have an area called ELK M1XEP where I can set the IP Address of the Elk, Port, and can generate ELK Export File. The IP address and port for the Elk in there are correct. This is the button I'm hitting to generate the XML file as well. I have attached a screen shot of the ISY-99i admin just incase I'm out to lunch. Thanks for your help

As a follow up to this... it appears I've lost all communication between the Elk M1 and the ISY-99i after upgrading. Not sure if this is related to the import issue I'm having or not though. The standard reboot everything until it works solution was unfortunately unsuccessful.

I added a few lights to my ISY-99i tonight and needed to import them into my Elk-M1 (running the latest firmware). I upgraded the ISY-99i to 3.1.16. Added 2 light switches and a scene. Exported the XML file for the Elk... but when I went to import this XML file into the Elk nothing happens. I get the standard dialog box from ElkRP, select the file, confirm that "Universal Devices..." is the Export File Format, press Import and nothing changes. I don't get an error message or anything but the new lights/scene don't appear. I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong but I can't figure it out for the life of me. I tried to clear the lighting which I'd imported in the past. Any thoughts on what I could be missing? I thought it might be the names of the new lights/scene but they are all short with no non-alphanumeric characters other then a - which I have in other names. Thanks in advance.
-
Thank you! That was exactly the issue.... sorry, I should have seen that one! Out of curiosity, why does it create 2 devices... -On and -Off? They seem to function the same to me but I'm assuming there is a reason for both. Thank you again.

Hi Michel, Thank you very much for your response and help. I tried the above mention idea. I removed the MorningLinc from the admin console, reset it to factory defaults, paired it with the lock again, confirmed it could unlock/lock the door, went to "Start Linking" in the admin console and linked it with the ISY-99i again. I have the same results as before. I press "On" or "Off" for that device and it does not lock or unlock the door. I have 3 MorningLincs here I am planning to install so I opened a second, new box and tried that one. I had the same results as above again. For what it's worth, I tried deleting the device from the admin console and readding it (to the same result). I've also power cycled everything. Here is the communication log of removing then adding back in the MorningLinc: Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [Front Lock-On] Start : Removing device from ISY Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [ 16 84 82 1] Removing all links Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [16 84 82 1 ] Using engine version i1 for 'Front Lock-On' Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.84.82 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.84.82 13.22.7C 2B 28 FF SET-MSB(FF) Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.84.82-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:51 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.84.82 0F 2B F8 06 PEEK (F8) Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:52 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.84.82 13.22.7C 2B 2B FF PEEK (FF) Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:52 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.84.82-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:52 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.84.82 0F 29 00 06 POKE (00) Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:52 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.84.82 13.22.7C 2B 29 FF POKE (FF) Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:52 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.84.82-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:52 PM : [Front Lock-On] Finish : Removing from ISY was Successful Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:52 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices Wed 02/09/2011 08:19:58 PM : [LNK-BGN ] 02 64 01 00 06 Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:19 PM : [LNK-STAT ] 02 53 M(01) gid=00 16.84.82 0F06 3A Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:19 PM : Linked: Linked 16.84.82.00 type=0F.06.3A Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:19 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.84.82 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:19 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.84.82 13.22.7C 2B 28 0F SET-MSB(0F) Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:19 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.84.82-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:19 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.84.82 0F 2B F8 06 PEEK (F8) Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:20 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.84.82 13.22.7C 2B 2B A2 PEEK (A2) Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:20 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.84.82-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Wed 02/09/2011 08:20:20 PM : [16 84 82 1 ] MorningLinc database accessible. Hi, I just installed a MorningIndustry deadbolt and MorningLinc controller. The MorningLinc is paired with the door. If I press the set button on the MorningLinc it will lock or unlock the door. With some searching I found out how to find the MorningLinc with the Admin Console for the ISY-99i (I`m using the latest version which was released earlier this week). There are 2 devices which appear under `My Lighting` called `Front Lock-on` and `Front Lock-off`. (The names were the device id which is 16 84 82-on and 16 84 82-off) When I press On or Off in the admin console the Current State changes from Locked to Unlocked in the admin console. Which is where the problem happens. The physical lock on the door is not receiving these commands and never moves. Therefore I`m assuming the MorningLinc is not receiving the commands. I know that communication is one way so I`m not surprized that the Current Status changes even though the lock doesn`t move. Here is the information from the Event Viewer when I pressed On: Wed 02/09/2011 07:01:05 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.84.82 0F 11 FF 06 LTONRR (FF) Wed 02/09/2011 07:01:05 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 16.84.82 0F 11 FF 06 LTONRR (FF): Process ACK: duplicate ignored Wed 02/09/2011 07:01:05 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.84.82 13.22.7C 2B 11 FF LTONRR (FF) Wed 02/09/2011 07:01:05 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.84.82-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Wed 02/09/2011 07:01:05 PM : Duplicate: ignored Wed 02/09/2011 07:01:05 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 16.84.82 13.22.7C 2B 11 FF LTONRR (FF): Process Message: failed Wed 02/09/2011 07:01:05 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][16.84.82-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 It looks like there are some clues in there but not sure where to go from here. `Process Message: failed` seems rather ominous for example. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Just to close the loop on this issue.... the scenes work perfectly. There is a still a slight delay between the front and back (quarter to half a second) but that's better then using a program. Thanks again for all the help!
-
Thanks oberkc for the confirmation. I still plan on trying out the scene change.... right after dinner! This debugging process has given me a much better understanding how the ISY-99i works so it's been a great experience. Thanks again to everyone for your help!
-
I sorted out what was wrong with the program.... I was checking for On or Off only and not Fast On and Fast Off. When I added that check as an 'Or' everything works. The only problem now being that there is a 1 second delay between the 'Kitchen All' being toggled and it then controlling 'Kitchen Front'.
-
I forgot to comment on this.... All lights where on. I turned 'Kitchen All' off using the switch and only 'Kitchen All' and 'Kitchen Back' received messages to turn off. Nothing was sent to 'Kitchen Front'. Thanks fitzpatri8. I'll give that a try too.
-
'Kitchen All' never controls 'Kitchen Front' either off or on. I now have two programs with this same result: If Control 'Kitchen All' is switched Off Then Set 'Kitchen Front' Off Else and If Control 'Kitchen All' is switched Off Then Set 'Kitchen Front' Off Else The problem with using Status instead of Control is that when I used the switch 'Kitchen Back' it would change the status of 'Kitchen All' (since they are together as the 3-way switch) and then this would affect 'Kitchen Front' which was incorrect. Right now, I just press "Save Changes" then go and test. Is there another step I might be missing? I'm new to interacting with the ISY-99i.
-
Yes, the upgrade did the trick and everything made much more sense. Sorry to keep asking more and more questions but each step leads to a another one. In my kitchen I have 2 sets of lights. One controlled by a 3 way switch the other by a single switch. Everything is working correctly now (either side of the 3 way switch controls one light properly and the single light works fine independently as well). Now I'm trying to configure one side of the 3-way switch to control both the 3-way fixture and the single fixture. The opposite side of the 3 way switch should only control the 3 way fixture and not interfere with the independent switch. I assumed I needed to do this through a program so I created one called kitchen: If Control 'Kitchen All' is switched On Then Set 'Kitchen Front' On Else Set 'Kitchen Front' Off This didn't work and neither did using the status of 'Kitchen All' instead of Control. Kitchen All = should control both 3 way and independent Kitchen Back = Second half of 3 way. Should only control 3 way Kitchen Front = Independent and should only control independent. Am I going about this the wrong way? Thanks yet again for all your help! PS I should also add, just in case it affects things, I created a scene called Kitchen with both 'Kitchen All' and 'Kitchen Back' as controllers. 'Kitchen Front' is not included in the scene.
-
Thanks. I was just walking down that road. I was just working on trying to create the scene. I can't seem to find how to add them as Controllers of the scene though. They are both included in the scene though. Not sure if it matters, but they are coming up as "Unsupported Device: 1.32"

Thanks guys. I have a few ideas now after wiring a different 3 way switch... either way it's going to be a pain and I'm going to leave it uncontrolled for now. One question unrelated to my original post.... I was able to link 2 2477Ds by holding the paddle up for 10 seconds then press set on the second switch. All worked great. Then I imported the switches into the administration console of the ISY-99i. This over wrote the link information I believe because the switches aren't linked any longer. Is there someway I can recreate that link information using the administration console? Thanks again!
