I am researching which protocol I will be adding to further enhance my ISY. I have a small 60 device Insteon system, but would love to have door lock control and sensor integration. I read that Zigbee only allows "profiles" to interact with certain types of devices, and if you don't have the profile, yuo just can't add a device. Are there limitations with Zwave also? Is the range of devices available with Zwave the same as Zigbee? I was hoping to add a smart meter app but I'm not sure this is available on Zwave. Thank you! -Larry

I bought X-10 when it was first offered at Sears (yes, back in the early seventies) and used X10 until I moved to a new house and replace all the mechanical switches with Insteon. Given my investment with Insteon, why would I add Z-Wave to the mix? Are there unique Z-wave devices that aren't available in Insteon? Is it more reliable? It's not cheaper, apparently.

I also am having the problem seeing my programs on 3.2.6. I now get a modal box with the text "Suscriber didn't respond to event:1 [30]" I cleared the whole Java cache and am using Firefox to start.

How did you program the motion sensor to give you light values that accumulate so you don't have a false positive from a passing cloud? -Larry
