    MQTT Newbe

I just did a firmware upgrade on my Control by Web x410 device and found that it supports MQTT now. Is there a tutorial that does not require a business email to download? I did find one but it wasn't to useful to me. I see there are Brokers, Publications and subscriptions, but I have yet to learn how to use them. So would the Polisy with version 3 node server be the broker, or would it be the x410? Or does the broker have to be some server in the cloud? Now I can send commands to Control by Web devices via rest commands but reading data from the Control by Web devices by the Polisy has been something that has eluded me. I know a dedicated node server just for Control by Web devices could be written to do this, but doing so is beyond my ability and the demand this is low. But now that they support MQTT, my interest has been peaked. There is also something called spark plug, which I am trying to learn about as well. Depending on what I learn and do I will try to add the MQTT node server to my Polisy. Thanks
  3. Okay, thanks, The nearest airport though is 50 miles from here. I haven't tried anything yet but OpenWeatherMap is still likely the top contender still.
  4. I did do some of what you suggested, after I started this thread, The one I dug deepest into was the OpenWeatherMap, and at this point I am leaning toward it.
  5. I just got upgraded from the ISY994 to my Polisy/ISY, and now have started using some node servers. I would like to add one for weather updates. But which of the services work best, where I could get one update every 6 to 20 minutes, for the Great Lakes area. I would prefer a service that is inexpensive or better yet free. Consider the cost of the service and node server with regard to reliability, capability, and stable API. There’s Aerisweather, Ambient weather, NOAA, plus others. I have not used any of these. I do not have a personal weather station such as Davis. I’m thinking of starting out with NOAA. I have looked at a couple of them, but still don’t know which would serve the best. I would like to know what others have experienced. Thanks
  6. Works well, Many Many Thanks
  7. I appreciate your efforts to make this node server work to know the Sonos speakers status.
  8. Not sure if this is the right place in the forum to ask this? If not please advise. I have a SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus-E Gateway, Universal Zigbee USB Gateway , and am wondering if it will work with my Polisy along side with my current Zooz 700 zwave dongle? I have read that some, if not most, of the Sonoff devices will work with the combination Zwave/Zigbee/matter card that is sold by UD. But I haven’t read of any instances of the Sonoff gateway being used. There’s only one or two devices I’d like to use that are not available in ZWave, namely the rgbw controllers for led strip lights. Aside from that, just Zwave is fine. Thanks
  9. I am very new to the whole idea of these node servers / “ plugins” as they are sometimes called. I know next to nothing about python. And so I would need to have very detailed instructions on how to install, test, and use your new file. All I know how to do, is how to install a node server from the store, and even that seems to be difficult for me, although this last time with help from this forum I did get it to be recognized by my newly implemented Polisy ISY. I currently just use rest commands via network resources to control the Sonos speakers, which is what I did with the 994 ISY. It works well enough, with the exception of having the appropriate keypad lights turn on or off when the Sonos app is used.
  10. This is my first trial for this Sonos node server. I still use rest commands to set Sonos to play and pause in response to Insteon keypad commands. This has worked well through the years. However, when Sonos is commanded through the app, of course, the Polisy has no knowledge of that command and thus the keypad buttons do not light. And then, of course, two keypad presses are needed to send a pause command. This node server has no problem sending commands to the speakers but it does not read the status from the Sonos speaker if it is commanded through the app. All I need this node server to do is read the status' from the speakers and report that to the Polisy. Is this something that is written into this node server or not? If not then I really don't have a need for it, since the "HTTP gets" work just fine otherwise. Now if the Polisy sends the command via this node server, then the play pause state is returned, after transitioning.
  11. Reinstalling the plugin in the same slot from the purchases tab of PG3, worked. Thanks
  12. I am getting these errors; 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: drivers = [{"driver":"GV1","value":0,"uom":56},{"driver":"GV2","value":0,"uom":56},{"driver":"SVOL","value":"9","uom":51},{"driver":"ST","value":"2","uom":25}] 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd2b5862014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd2b5862014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd2b5862014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd2b5862014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: drivers = [{"driver":"GV1","value":0,"uom":56},{"driver":"GV2","value":0,"uom":56},{"driver":"SVOL","value":"8","uom":51},{"driver":"ST","value":"0","uom":25}] 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd6d1482014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd6d1482014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd6d1482014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:33:36 [pg3] error: [00:0d:b9:53:2f:60_5] caafd6d1482014/addnode add driver error: UNIQUE constraint failed: driver.uuid, driver.profileNum, driver.address, driver.driver 12/3/2023, 16:34:41 [pg3] info: Starting installed and enabled NodeServers... 12/3/2023, 16:34:41 [pg3] info: startNs:: Sonos 12/3/2023, 16:34:41 [pg3] warn: Sonos validation checks returned :: Already running.   13. I tried that and it did not show up in the Admin console Node Servers drop down menu.
  14. Found out I had the wrong password for the ISY in PG3. Once I corrected that, it then connected. But clicking "load Profile" still does not install it to a node server slot in the Admin console Node Servers drop down menu.
  15. The Sonos node server is running in PG3 but will not transfer to the ISY on Polisy. I had it working once but had to uninstall it to get z wave working. I didn't get it written down what I did then. PG3 Version 3.1.23 Status: Connected Frontend Version: 3.1.23 IoX Version: 5.7.1 Disconnected Uptime: 3 Day(s) 6 Hour(s) 34 Minute(s) 54 Second(s) (c) 2023 UDI Getting Started What am I missing this time? Clicking "load Profile" does not install it to a node server slot in the Admin console Node Servers drop down menu.
  16. Okay the Query program was recreated just fine and ran without error. That leaves just 3 others that present messages like this one of which was deleted because it is no longer needed, the other two I had to recreate one of then statements, which refereed to a battery operated keypad link. Thanks for your replies
  17. I just migrated from ISY to Polisy and have questions concerning these meanings. Warning: Unrecognized Action (program may not run) <cmd ID="QUERY" NODE="00:21:b9:00:ed:b2"/> This is the original ISY Mac address, how do I point this to my Polisy? I cannot find the "Query All" in my scenes list And then this message; Warning: Unrecognized Action (program may not run) <cmd ID="DOF" NODE="4609"/> I am new to version 5 so I am not familiar with some of these messages. In the program summary it say -Not Loaded- and Out of Memory under the Activity and Status headings respectively. P.S. I tried posting this earlier, and wanted to look at it again but could not find it through searching. if this is double posted, my apologies.
  18. All set now. Chris Jahn sent me a command to run from a browser to reset the Z-Wave back to Zooz. I have successfully added two devices. I just need to find out how to migrate without setting this back to Z-Matter. Thank you for your responses and help.
  19. And just tried that again, and still not reset. Is there any reply other than what I have pictured? There's no indication that it did anything. I do know that sometimes with these unix/qnx/etc type systems that you don't always get a response. oh and I tried this a third time to get the screen shots.
  20. Yes, I have tried that, going to try to reset the port again.
  21. Okay, I have factory reset Polisy, and tried both the original and the new Zooz 700 and am still getting no z-wave recognition.
  22. I was able to factory reset the Zooz, using the Silicon Lab’s Simplicity software, which by the way isn’t so simple. The Zooz is readable from their software on the windows PC. I did purchase another Zooz 700. So I could try that one as well. So, I will try it if the original Zooz is not responsive. Yes, I do realize that I have no Z-wave to migrate, nor do I want to. What I would like to know is how to add Z-wave after the migration. That is what I cannot do right now since the Zooz 700 is not recognized. I’m hoping after the reset and migration that I will be able to add in the new zwave devices. What I don’t want to have to do is rebuild my entire Insteon network from scratch, in order to get Z-wave working, Unless I hear otherwise, I am thinking that I should uninstall the node server, which I would prefer not to have to do, since it was hard to get it working. I am hoping to hear something in response to my ticket, which should give me a good path forward.
  23. So, if I go ahead and do the factory reset on the Polisy, what’s to keep the Z-wave from going dead on me again, after I do the ISY restore to my Polisy again. (BTW I believe I found out that the Polisy must be powered down before connecting the PLM. This I believe was the reason for the failure of the Insteon migration. And then one should do a PLM status check prior to the restoration to the Polisy to be sure it sees it.) Before I tried to migrate my ISY configuration to my Polisy the Z-wave was working just fine. Then there’s the issue of the one node server that is installed on the Polisy. Must I uninstall that prior to factory reseting? Please keep in mind that there is no Z-wave on my ISY here. I wonder if that’s why the restore to the Polisy breaks the Z-wave connection and configuration. I am newly looking to add Z-wave devices. Reaching out here, as I would think those responding to the tickets have a lot of them to respond to with the holiday weekend and all.
  24. I have tied both ports, and neither works, and I have tried checking on, auto, and off. and and only with the on setting I get this as pictured. And the Zooz seems well seated in the USB port. It is tight with the power adapter connector, but it does fit. Haven't done a factory reset yet. I do have a ticket in regarding this, and a factory reset is recommended I'll go ahead and proceed. I don't know that I have a right angle connector but I think I have a usb extender cable, if you think that would work.
  25. I just saw this thread so, I tried that command in my Polisy for my absent Zooz 700, it reset my password, and does the interview zw38 routine but the z-wave Zooz is never found. Now my ISY I restored from had no z-wave, so I currently have no z wave network whereas before the restore the z-wave with my one z-wave device was working perfectly. And button "Migrate to ZMatter Z-Wave" never shows. Prior to this I also tried the reset of the usb ports as mentioned in one of the links above to the wiki, which I followed, That did not work either.
