Yeah I did put in new batteries and even went so far as to be a few feet from the eisy when I tried the linking. It's really strange that I can't get these items to link. I've turned on compatibility mode, security mode off, basically anything I could find in the eisy setup that maybe might make a difference. The only thing that makes these different than maybe some other devices is that they can be used as a controller, but going through the instructions I don't see any special instructions for linking when it's not used as a controller. I haven't given up just yet It could be something really simply stupid but it's escaping me what that is. I may reach out to support and see if they have any ideas, it certainly couldn't hurt.

I have all devices cleaned up and responding as expected. I tried factory resetting and then linked them again but each time it's the same issue, but what's odd to me is both of them exhibit the exact same issue. But if I use a different hub (HS4) it does work as expected so could there be some sort of bug in eisy? Overall I am quite happy with the device, I used to have an isy994 many years ago so I am familiar with how it works. I did buy a few zooz dimmer keypads and the repeater so just waiting for that stuff to get here so I can swap a few older ones out that are switch only devices.

Thanks for the info. My only guess is perhaps eisy is not picking up or interpreting something in the interview to create the items it needs. A may need UD's help on that as I know it works with other platforms. When adding those keypads I went as far as laying the device on top of the eisy All those other devices devices are battery only devices. I've queued them up to update but it hasn't occurred yet. I can't say I've had any real delays on stuff happening but I do want it to run smooth so I'll look at the sale, there might be something else I want

There's almost nothing on the screen to really interact with. From my understanding this can be a controller and you can link other devices to it, or at least that's how I read the instructions but in homeseer I could always detect a button press or a hold down or a fast on etc. and was able to set an interaction based on that. I bought these a really long time ago but there is no support for them that I'm aware of. I do have a switch close to my tank and I'm thinking about putting a zooz zen32 switch in its place. That will at least allow me to get some special buttons back to use with my tank. I'm surprised no one has a good keypad only option for Zwave either AC power or a handheld like this one. Eaton made one and I had a few of those but there was always something lacking with them and I had a hard time to get them to work reliably. Thanks for that reminder on the backing up of Zwave devices, homeseer also had that same issue that you had to back up the zwave stuff separately and I got burned on a restore once and had to start from scratch. When doing a backup maybe they should have a popup to warn you to also back that up and have it included in the zip you download so you have the most current information for the restore. It was a real let down that the backup wasn't all there. It's literally an entire day pissed away having to relearn the devices and then fix the events/programs.

Those are different devices, Not sure why they haven't finished with writing. I like that idea of moving the other stuff out of the main into another folder. It is way to crowded and hard to find stuff. I'm gonna keep plugging away on this, sooner or later I'll get these things working or find a different keypad option.

Yes I am using the usb board that UD recommended. Everything is working fine so far. The 2 kwikset 916 locks took some work but I finally got through that. It only creates those 2 items at the bottom left. So all I can select in the events is like a battery query or a device responding. It should allow me to pick any of the 8 buttons dependiing on how I push the buttons but those options just don't show up. I have 2 of these and they both do the same thing. I've tried reinterviewing and switching compatibility mode.

I'm using the Eisy 5.91. I just got this about a week ago and have almost everything working perfectly except those 2 remotes. They are kinda important to me to automate my fish tank stuff when I need to turn pumps and lights oon and off while I clean it.

I've been migrating away from homeseer and have a few 8 button remotec scene controllers. When I add it in it shows up as a controller and an awake icon. There doesn't seem to be a way to detect the scenes when you push one of the buttons. I've tried redetecting it, interviewiing it, used compatibility mode etc, but I am just stuck and have run out of ideas how to get these things to work. Has anyone used these and can offer some insight on how to get them to work. Thanks

Two Echos in two different homes with two different ISY
PalChgo replied to gduprey's topic in Amazon Echo
Hi, I have a home in the western burbs and a small condo in the city. Each has an ISY, both running beta 5.0.2, both have access to the portal. I have an Echo and an echo dot at the house and I have Alexa working fairly well. I bought an echo dot for the condo. It took me hours to finally get things working but I have them working separately at both locations. What I have found is that you need at a minimum a primary amazon account and then create a secondary account on the original prime account using a different email address and password to log into amazon (You must deregister the new echo from the primary account and then set it up on your secondary amazon account). I then created a separate user on the portal under my main account and then linked the condo isy to the email address I used for the second amazon account on the portal. The trick I've found is in the profile it will come up and tell you that there is no isy listed in the sub account. You have to click on the link that sends you to amazon to login to the portal using your amazon account (which is the second one I setup). This was the hardest part to get to. There were times when the "link" just was not there for me to click to get to the amazon authentication link from the portal pages (remember to use the amazon secondary account email address and password). Once I finally was able to get the condo ISY registered as the primary ISY under the second user id, I was then able to get it working. Very confusing but it can be done. One other thing to note, you must remember to "switch accounts" on your second echo so you can control the isy at the second location and discover the devices or you'll be rediscovering the devices from the original location. I worked on this so long my explanation may be a bit off but just confirming it does indeed work with 1 amazon prime account and a sub account. Lastly I am on the version 2 of the isy skill in the Alexa app. Hope this helps anyone struggling with this. -
Hi Guys, Just been so busy lately haven't had a chance to follow the threads. I did get the event ghost working with some assistance. I have not gotten to clean up where the initial errors occur when it starts but it does not seem to affect the operation. Posted below is the file you need to put in the event plugin module.. eventghostforisy.zip

If you can push the set button on the garage io linc and the door goes up and down its probably safe to say you wired that portion of the kit correctly.. Not sure why it would not communicate unless its not getting the signal back to the isy.. If you have an extra switch maybe try linking it manually with the iolinc to see what happens...

I know there's a few others who were using Eventghost. As you saw Michel posted some changes that needed to be replaced in the isyevent file that you have to use with EG. Have any of you tried to get this working? I've tried doing a full cut and paste of the area that he has changed and the program really blows up and I can only guess its got something to do with CR/LF or a tabbing issue with the editor I am using. So I opened up the original file and have gone through line by line doing a cut in paste where necessary and it still does not seem to be working for me. It doesn't blow up like it did when I cut and paste the entire section that Michel posted before but it does close down the connection with this error. 17:41:34 File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\ISY\__init__.py", line 432, in GetNodesConfig 17:41:34 if (xadd not in eg.globals.excludedinsteondevices): 17:41:34 AttributeError: 'Bunch' object has no attribute 'excludedinsteondevices' 17:41:34 Insteon.Authenticated '192.168.1.253:80' 17:41:34 Insteon.Set Log Level to 1 '192.168.1.253:80' 17:41:34 Main.OnInit 17:41:44 Insteon.Subscription-Closed '192.168.1.253:80' I've spent hours just trying to make this work and have become obsessed with making this work again.. Anyone else figured this out. I'll post what I have edited in case some of you don't have it... __init__.zip

Hi Michel, Ok I tried doing a cut and paste into the file and all sorts of issues trying it that way so I went through the original and the parts you posted. I think you had only changed one line self.push("POST /services HTTP/1.1\r\n") Can you confirm that as true.. I was able to just edit the file and make that one change. When it runs I can see it open up the dialog for a split second and then it closes the connection. The eventghost comes up with the following (Note the first three Lines are the error lines): 20:47:55 File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\ISY\__init__.py", line 436, in GetNodesConfig 20:47:55 if (xadd not in eg.globals.excludedinsteondevices): 20:47:55 AttributeError: 'Bunch' object has no attribute 'excludedinsteondevices' 20:47:55 Insteon.Authenticated '192.168.1.253:80' 20:47:55 Insteon.Set Log Level to 1 '192.168.1.253:80' 20:47:55 Main.OnInit 20:47:55 Insteon.Subscription-Closed '192.168.1.253:80' Just an fyi I do not have the networking module. I'm gonna play with this a little more and look at this globabls.exclude line. Maybe something needs to be added there.. Let me know if you have any more clues. Thanks!

Thanks Michel, I will try and check this out today or tomorrow. Hopefully it solves the problem and also fixes the other guys that have reported an issue.

Hi Michel, I opened up the ISYEvent.zip file and its kinda like a configuration file and some call outs to the ISY. You guys may have more luck than me at figuring out how to fix it. ISYevent.zip
