  1. My house has sold but they are letting my wife and I rent it for another month.  I told them when I leave I will have all the Insteon light switches and outlets work like normal dumb switches and outlets.  I also told them I would leave my ISY unplugged so that if they ever decide to use it they can.

What do I need to do to leave my ISY/Insteon HA system in this state?

Do I need to just unplug the ISY, or somehow delete my account, delete programs, factory reset etc???

    Thanks for your help!!!

  2. Well I opened the ISY Admin Console tonight to try to determine which program (if any) was causing my issue.  Now suddenly the stat (Venstar 1700) isn't communicating with the ISY.  This is strange as I've never had comm issues with my stats.

Any ideas?  I don't think they sell my stats anymore so I will have to buy a different one.  This stinks.  I hope I can get ti to  start communicating with the ISY again.

Update: The stat works locally just fine.  For some reason the ISY was pinging the stat non stop and now the ISY can't communicate with it at all.

Is there anything I can do to try to get the ISY to communicate with it again?

  3. I opened the event viewer to see this...

14.BA.D7 is my downstairs Venstar Stat.  What could be making it do this?  When I pull up the program summary and sort by last program ran it doesn't show one of my stat programs running.

Any ideas on how to get it to stop???

    Thanks!
  4. I'll add #4: If you subscribe to Mobilinc Connect you can use that service as well to run the admin console.

    Michael.

I do subscribe to Mobilinc Connect.  With that on my Windows 10 Surface 3 PC, will I be able to make program changes in the Admin Console?  Is it a Windows 10 app?  Thanks!

  5. I have always used the admin console to make changes to programs while at home using my home network.

I'm now using a Surface 3 tablet to access the admin console (via java applet) and would like to use it away from home.  What is the best way to access the admin console when away from home and on a different network?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Java apps are active and everywhere in corporate america, especially backend uses like interfaces.  The large body of certified offshore java resources makes it hard to justify rewrites in something else. Java is not going away anytime soon.

I am hanging out for the surface 4 release next month as my new travel tablet that will be able to run the admin console.

I know the Surface Pro 4 is coming out soon.  Do you know when the Surface 4 (non Pro) is coming out???  They are 2 different devices.

  7. In the admin console I used to have an Elk tab and Elk buttons above the tab like "Arm" Disarm", etc.  The tab is there but not the buttons.  How do I get them back?

    Thanks!

  8. Ok that seems to have solved all the issues except the Elk Arm, disarm, etc. still isn't displayed at the top of the admin console.  Anyone have any idea how to get that back?

    Thanks for all the help!

  9. How do I power down the PLM..just unplug it?  By start over do I need to reset or delete the new PLM's link then restore them again after starting over?

I have a backup from about a month and a half ago.

  10. -How do I update the battery powered devices?  Note:  They do not have the green IOIO beside them.  With that said do I still do a "Write updates to Device"?

-Terminating the Admin Console did not put the Elk entries on top of the admin console like before.  Note: when I do a "PLM Info/Status" it still displays the old PLM address and NOT the new PLM's address.  Not sure why it's doing that but thought that was strange.

-Sorry for the "Doesn't work".  I had company come to my home when I was finishing that 1st post.  So when I press the keypadlinc button, it is supposed to run a program that turns a scene on.  The scene adjusts the stat setpoints and turns a ceiling fan on.  With the failed PLM nothing showed up in the event viewer when I pressed the button.  Now it does show up in the event viewer and the programs do run when the keypadlink button is pressed but the Venstar stat doesn't change setpoints.

Thanks in advance for helping solve the issue.

  11. I replaced my PLM that went bad (see my 1st post in this thread http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/16500-suddenly-having-strange-issuesplease-help/

A couple of issues.  First the instructions says to put all battery powered devices in programming mode.  I was going to do this but ran into an issue.  I put the 1st remotelinc in programming mode then when I tried to put the 2nd one in programming mode the 2nd one beeped and both the 1st and 2nd one stopped programming mode.  Did I link them?  If so, how could I put them all in programming mode w/o linking them?  If so, how can I unlink them?

So I started to restore the PLM without my battery powered devices in programming mode.  My PLM link count is now 266.  The old PLM that failed was saying 0 count.  The remotelinc doesn't have the green IOIOIO beside them.  I thought they would.  Should they?

-The Elk arm, disarm, etc still doesn't show up at the top of the top of the admin console like it did before the old PLM failed.

-A button on a keypadlinc that through a program controls a thermostat and ceiling fan still doesn't work like it did before the old PLM went bad.  When pressed, it does show up in the event viewer though.

Any ideas what may be wrong?  Thanks!
