  1. The ZMatter dongle is plugged into the eisy. I think part of the problem might be that the ZMatter board isn't being recognised by the eisy. The 994i firmware and UI versions are 5.3.3 and the eisy versions are 5.4.5. I don't see a migration button option in the configuration tab. I'm attaching some screenshots that may, or may not, be helpful.
  2. I have successfully migrated all my Insteon devices to the eisy from my old isy994i, but I don't see any of my Z-Wave devices. I purchased the Z-Wave PLUS module in July 2021 from UD, so I am assuming it is a 994/500 Series board. I followed the instructions in the wiki - I backed up my Z-Wave dongle, then backed up the isy. I plugged the PLM into the eisy and restored the eisy. I then checked the Z-Wave support box in the configuration menu, saved and then rebooted. I have the Z-Wave menu now in the eisy. I don't have any values for library or Z-Wave version when I look at the Z-Wave Version menu option. On the 994, I was seeing Static Controller for the library and 6.82.01 for the Z-Wave Version. Before I start messing around with other Z-Wave menu options and potentially screwing things up, is there something else I am supposed to do? Thanks!
  3. Thank you! That did the trick!
  4. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling the Hue NS, but still get the same results. At this point, I'm not sure if it is the eisy that is not working or the Hue NS.
  5. I'm not sure if this question belongs here, or on the PG3 forum - admin, please move if appropriate. I just got my eisy and while I am waiting for the ZWave/Matter dongle to arrive, I thought I would see if I could get it to control my Hue lights. I Successfully installed the Hue NS from the store. I followed the instructions I found on the forums... which I can't seem to find again. I pressed the sync button on the Hue bridge and then restarted the Hue NS. Nothing discernable happened and and I am seeing Current Status: Disconnected in the Hue NS screen. I created a custom configuration parameter with the name "bridge", without the quotes and entered the IP address of the bridge using the following format ["ip-address"] and tried again with the same result. I've rebooted the Hue bridge and made sure I could connect to it through my browser and everything seems to working on that end. Any ideas? This is my first foray into node servers, so please bear with me if I am missing something obvious.
  6. I've got 5 TRANE 14942771 Thermostats (in addition to 2 Insteon thermostats). I found them very easy to install, once I figured out that they need to be very close to the ISY for the Z-wave device to set them up initially. They have been reliable and work well with the ISY.
  7. I've been using an ISY since 2008 and my network has grown considerably since then. I think I started out with a relatively efficient and streamlined set of scenes, programs and variables, but over time, for a variety of reasons, they have become messy and kludgy. I would like to start from scratch and rebuild my system and remove inefficiencies and inconsistencies. Can I back up my ISY, delete all my scenes, programs and variables and start start incrementally re-writing everything and when I run of time (since I rarely have more than 15 minutes free time on any given day) back up my progress and restore my original configuration? How long does it take for a back-up to restore (I have about 60 devices and probably about the same number of programs and scenes)? Thanks!
  8. Thanks guys! I did a factory reset on both devices and restored them and now they work perfectly. I learned something about scenes today. I've always had all the devices in my scenes set as responders because I never really knew why I would make a device a controller (I've always used programs to detect button presses and control scenes that way). This is going to make some of my other Insteon pairings a little easier to control now. Thanks again!
  9. The ramp rate is set to 8.5 seconds. It's set locally and in the scenes.
  10. I did (actually, it was created automatically by the ISY) and the ramp rates are set there too. I also tried creating a program to respond to the button push, all with the same result.
  11. Hi All, I have an Outletlinc (2472D v.44) that I have manually linked to button B of a KPL (2334-2 v.43). When I say manually, I mean that I held the KPL button B down until the beep and then pressed the set button on the Outletlinc. The link was successful in that I can now control the Outletlinc from the KPL. However, I cannot get the ramp rate to work when pressing the KPL button. The Outletlinc switches off and on almost instantaneously rather than using the ramp rate that was programmed both locally, by setting the on level to 5% and double setting the set button and also by setting the ramp rate on the ISY. The ramp rate was set on the device and and on the scenes created by the ISY when I manually linked the two devices. I've tried adjusting the ramp rates back and forth to see if rewriting the values helps, but it has no effect. Is it possible to do what I am trying to do, or am I missing something basic. Thanks! Andy
  12. Thanks! I just ordered a 994.
  13. I've been trying to add a 2334 Dimmer Keypad. The ISY99i can see the device and adds it, but it shows up with a lightbulb icon and in the main window says it is an "Unsupported Device 1.66." I am running firmware version 3.3.10 which I think is the latest version. Any ideas? Thanks! Andy
  14. Thanks for the reply! I use a mixture of scenes and individual commands to control the devices. For example, when I go to bed, I have the lights in the hall way turn up for a minute, so I can see where I am going, but I set the scene that turns of the lights to "on" (I do this because I can put all the devices in one scene and turn them off all at once). I'll post more after I have done a little debugging. Andy
  15. I recently installed some KPL's in my house. One of them replaced a switchlinc dimmer that worked perfectly. I am now having problems with that KPL, and the others I installed communicating properly with other devices. Specifically, I would like all my lights to be turned off at night when I press the "off" button on the KPL. This feature had been working correctly when I used the switchlinc dimmer. Turned that off turned off everything else (using an ISY program). When I replaced it with the KPL and changed to the code to detect the "KPL switched off" control, only some of the devices that are supposed to turn off actually turn off. The devices that stay on are seemingly random. One night it might be the porch light and table lamps, the next it might be the lawn and corner lights. How should I go about debugging this? I know I can use the event viewer in the admin console, but what should I be looking for? Could there be too much traffic on my Insteon network? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Andy
  16. The blurb on the Smarthome page says that Accesslincs provide better range, how do they do this?
  17. I've not been able to figure out a definite pattern. Some of the lights do seem more prone to errors (announced or otherwise) than others. I'm going to get a couple of Filterlincs to put on the system. I'm also going to try moving my SignalLincs around.
  18. Hi All, I'm getting to grips with my ISY-99i thanks to the fantastic support of Michel and his tech support staff. I am suffering from intermittent communication errors, some announced, others silent. At the moment I have several scenes that get activated at certain times. Basically all they do is turn on the house lights and gradually dim them as the evening progresses and then finally turns them off. My question is how often are the trigger conditions for the program checked? For example if I said "turn on the light at sunset" would that only get activated at sunset? Say the light didn't come on due a communication error would the program perhaps recognise that later and switch it on. Would I be better writing code like this "if the time is between sunset and 9pm turn on the light"? Thanks, Andy
  19. I'll call tech support tomorrow to see if we can resolve the issue. Thanks, Andy
  20. I'm not sending dim or fade commands. I have the levels set in each scene and then I turn the scenes "on" when I want the level to change. Even so, there are some devices that work fine when sent commands on their own, but when I place them in a scene, even if it's just that one device it doesn't respond. However, now I am getting loads of communication errors... Sometimes it even gives me an error message that it can't communicate with a device, but the command I send still works!?!?! I think I'm am going to switch back to the PLC. It was basic but it pretty much worked as advertised.
  21. Michel, Thanks for the reply. I think I am getting the hang of scenes. However, I have a problem with two of my devices not responding to commands sent to them in scenes. This is a reproducible problem. I posted the problem in the wrong forum (I later realised). Here is the link to my problem/question... http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=1150 Thanks, Andy
  22. I rearranged my office furniture a little so I can plug the PLM into a regular outlet. It seems that I have two devices that do not respond to commands issued to them in scenes but respond normally to commands issued manually by the ISY. Strange... Update: Even when one of these devices is in a scene on its own it still does not respond. They still respond when addressed individually though. I have tried a reboot of the devices but with no luck. The ISY does not generate any error messages.
  23. I'm not sure if I am doing programs and scenes correctly. Here's what I want to do... I have a bunch of lights that I want to come a little before sunset and slowly decrease in brightness thoughout the night. I had been using the Insteon PLC with the free program that came with it. Overall it worked very well but I want a little more control over my lighting so I thought the ISY-99i would do the trick. So far I have made little progress in even matching watch the PLC would do for me. Currently I have several scenes that adjust the brightness of the lights to the desired level. Each scene is triggered by a program that runs at the specified time. Either as an offset to sunset or at a given time. The lights come on as expected, but most of the lights don't repsond to subsequent commands to dim. I have one program per scene, but I wonder if I should have a bunch of nested if-then-else conditions in one program. Another issue that I have is that communication between the PLM/ISY and the Insteon devices seems sporadic. Some of this may be due to the placement of the PLM on a UPS. However, when I moved the PLM to a regular outlet things got worse in this regard. I was away for the weekend and I had to resort to the PLC since I was unable to reach *any* of my devices via the PLM/ISY the morning I was leaving. The outlet had previously worked fine. Comprehensive documentation is desperately needed for this device. It would help people troubleshoot a problem before having to clog the forum up with questions like this. Thanks in advance, Andy
  24. Thanks for the quick reply. No, some devices only seem to respond the first scene, then they don't respond to subsequent level changes included in other scenes. It's entirely possible that I am not scripting the scenes or program commands correctly, but I can't seem to find any documentation to help me.
