Great! Will try it tonight. On a different note, you mentioned floor heating. I have it in my vacation house but it is controlled by standalone and not-smart floor thermostats. I am still looking what floor thermostats can be ISY compatible. What are you using?
-
I thought possibly we could avoid sending temperature values by having scene or something that would just increase or decrease it by 1 degree from current. So, we could say, e.g., "turn on thermostat coller", where "thermostat coller" is the name of the scene that would reduce themperature by 1. That could be easily done with program but we cannot call programs from echo and I am not sure if scene may work for that. In any case, this would be more usuful for me than to request to set themperature to any specific number.

Did anybody try to use echo to control ISY connected thermostats? What kind of command do you use? I remember seeing here that it is not possible to pass numeric value of the temperature through echo. I would not want to do this anyway. I am wondering if it is possible to have an ISY scene that, when called through echo, would reduce or increase temperature by 1 degree.

I am wondering where info about devices I selected to be discovered by echo is saved? E.g. After I run g1of4, or any other configurator, and selected devices I want to discover, where this info is stored? Is it in some local file on my computer running Java bridge? Is it somewhere where Java bridge jre file is? Is it possible to copy this file to another computer if I decide to change who runs the bridge? Thanks. P.S. I guess I miss a critical piece of understanding how emulator, echo and configurator interact. E.,e, after I moved bridge to Synology station, I still used my Mac to run configurator, and echo recornized devices I selected. So during discovery computer running configurator should talk to both Echo and computer running bridge/emulator. I can then shutdown the Mac and everything still works. So it does not save device info on the computer where configurator was run??

I just installed HUE emulator to control my ISY and it works fantastic. Thank so much to everybody who made it possible! I have only one issue - how to make echo to forget the device. I use Echo iPhone App and I tried (1) "Forget" individual device; (2) "Forget all connected home settings". In both cases it seems I successfully remove device(s) and I do not see them anymore in the App. I then restart Mac configurator and select new set of devices from ISY. Strangely, Echo reports discovering BOTH new devices and old devices that were selected previously. How can I wipe it clean and remove everything I selected (and Echo discovered) before? Should I stop/start java script? Reboot my computer? Restart chrome running configurator? Thanks much!

My apologies if this has been asked and answered before. I just ordered echo to use with ISY994. I was reading instructions posted in the first post now. I am supposed to use g1of4's configuration app to get devices. But it seems that this is executable file. Can I use this tool from Mac? Thanks!

It is a surge protector. However, I have 1 access point plugged right next to it to the same strip. And it has been working fine this way for few years...

I do not think any new 915MHz devices were installed. I am not sure how to test what you ask about dual band devices PLM is probably couple of years old. May be related question. My PLM location is probably pretty bad. It is inside rack cabinet plugged to power strip. However, it works with dual band devices. Am I right assuming that as soon as it communicates with dual band devices, they will "access" my wireless devices even if PLM itself cannot? Thanks.

To add: I also lost communication to all leak sensors at the same time! Another ~10 devices. However, thermostats seem to be OK.

I used to have 3-4 motion sensors around house and it worked fine for years. I recently installed additional 10 sensors (now total ~15) and had a problem. It worked first but then suddenly ISY994 lost communication to all sensors. Deleting sensors and linking them again one by one seems to help. But it was a pain. I have 100s of wired insteon devices installed so I assumed that I have very reliable network. Any ideas? Thanks.

Does 994/zwave support Somfy Zwave to RTS bridge adaptor https://www.somfypro.com/z-wave Thanks

Thanks, I will set a program. It should not be much of a problem in this case since the device is supposed to be powered all the time (one of the PoE routers) except when I want to power cycle it remotely to reset the cameras. However, I can imagine situations when remembering last state On or Off would be preferable... I guess it can also be done using state variable that remembers its value after ISY reboot...

I guess it could be discussed before but I cannot find an answer. I have Insteon On/Off module controlled by ISY994. After power outrage it stays Off. What setting should I change to make sure the module goes On automatically after power cycle? Thanks.

I think I found how to read the temperature log. I have different question now. I use this thermostat to monitor temperature in the freezer. It seems that Insteon thermostat shows T correctly down to 0F. However when temperature becomes negative it it starts to show smth like 127F. Is there a way to make it logging negative temperature correctly?

I have been using 2 venstar 1900 in main house house and one in vacation house with isy994s and had zero problems so far (knocking the wood)

Thanks for all responses! Heated floor should be installed in kitchen and 3 bath. I would like to be able to turn it on remotely when we drive there in winter (as I do now to rise the temp on the main thermostat).

Right. I use Venstar thermostat for heating and control it from isy. But I thought that heated floor may need different stat (I still have to talk to my contractor) and my question was if any of stats applicable for floor heating are compartible with isy.

I am planning to install heated kitchen floor at vacation house. Are there any thermostats to control floor electrical heating that would be compatible with isy994? Thanks.

It seems to be working. Great. Thanks.

I am using state variable to identify "stay" (0 value) vs "away" (1 value) mode and then to control thermostats, etc. I would like to use activation of the motion sensor ( when I am back home) to change its value from 1 to 0. The problem I have is that my motion sensor stays On for 30 sec ( or so) after event. It means that when I am leaving home and set state var to 1, it will detect my motion and change it back to zero. How can I write a program to ignore motion sensor response for 1 min after I change the state of the var from 0 to 1 and only after that to make it possible the sensor event changing state var value 1->0? Thanks much.

Thanks for all comments. For now, I just bought few insteon wireless thermostats and use them in the off mode as thermometers linked to isy994. It seems to report the T and humidity fine. My main concern is wine cellar and walls are not metal so this is not a problem. The main downside is that thing is huge, larger than my venstar thermostats... Anyway, it works.

I have been looking for a long time for device that would be : 1) wireless and battery powered (so I could put it inside a fridge or wine cellar) 2) report temperature to ISY99 (994) (so I can set up alerts, etc) It seems as a pretty simple solutions (there are zillions of all kind of wireless thermometers) but I could not find one that works with ISY99. Any suggestions? Thanks.
