Except that rebooting the ISY does not solve this problem temporarily and the SD card only has a tiny bit of space used.

Changed the network cable already, although it seemed fine. The ISY just stopped working yesterday, as it did before. I checked the programs when I restored the firmware and they seemed fine, but they do not appear to be running. The ISY said it's offline in the Portal again. I wanted to see if the SD card was corrupt, so I put it in my PC to see if I could read it. It seems fine and Windows did not complain.

I rebooted the ISY and the lights look fine, but it's still offline. I pulled the memory card, and it says this: 3936207262 0 -5 Start 3936207263 0 -110022 /CONF/INSTENG.OPT 3936207263 0 -110012 /CONF/INSTENG.OPT 3936207267 0 -110022 /DEF/F6/I1/NLS/EN_US.TXT 3936207268 0 -110022 /CONF/UXT.BIN 3936207268 0 -110012 /CONF/UXT.BIN 3936207273 0 -110022 /CONF/UZWNDKEY.TXT 3936207273 0 -110012 /CONF/UZWNDKEY.TXT No idea what the codes mean or why it's producing multiple errors. The SD card does not seem to be corrupt.

I upgraded my ISY994i to 5.34, as I wanted to use UD Mobile. This all seemed to go fine, with no issues. But I noticed that my limited programs weren't running. Before I could investigate this issue my ISY went offline while using UD and became non responsive. I factory reset my ISY and restored my backup and all seemed good again. I checked the non functional program and it did not show any errors. The ISY went offline again last night and is non responsive again. I guess I'll restore to 4.9.

Thanks, I had to perform a factory reset and restore. My backup says 4.90, but the Portal, Admin and About all say 5.34. I was getting an XML parse error, but downloading from the main page solved that problem. Alexa is finding the Hub again too. The question now is what caused the original corruption.

Thanks, I was getting couldn't find a Java home when this first started. I've cleared the cache at least five times now. Every time I try to get into the Console, I get the can't find a Java home when I launch the Console again. I'll replace the network cable just in case, but no one has access to the wiring closet. I can't ping the IP or bring it up in a browser. The tx, rx lights are flashing on the network port, but I guess it's just looking for Mama.
-
Thanks, I had repowered it before. I changed the power supply, and it shows up in the router again, but not online in the Portal. I can see it in the Admin Console, but it's not showing the version #, which is never a good thing. It was still blinking Tx, Rx when I left it. I'll repower it again later to see what the lights tell me.

I was on firmware 4.9, but I wanted to use UD Mobile, as my MobiLinc was giving me license issues. So, I loaded firmware 5.34 as suggested. Everything loaded fine and the Admin console looked OK at first glance. I noticed a little while after I upgraded that some events weren't happening, but all the devices were responding to commands. I was using UD Mobile Friday, and it was working fine, but then I started getting ISY is offline, with error 503 and error 500. I checked the Portal, and it can't see the ISY either. The only light\ on the ISY is the power light. The ISY does not show up in my router and repowering the ISY did nothing. I gather my next steps are a factory reset and restoring my last backup, with maybe a new SD card?

Thanks, I found it. I was looking for the html to play the RPi sounds from a PC to test the connection. The problem turned out to be the file extension. I'm surprised it produced that error, but it's mostly working now.

Thanks, I'd already tried this, but No joy. I was trying to find the original post about this, as it had some troubleshooting tips, but I was unable to find it again. It was posted by Thanatar on Dec 16, 2016. My Network Resource looks like this BTW, in the event the coding has changed. GET /jsonrpc?request={%22jsonrpc%22:%222.0%22,%22id%22:%221%22,%22method%22:%22Player.Open%22,%22params%22:{%22item%22:{%22file%22:%22storage/music/FrontDoor.wav%22}}} HTTP/1.1 Host: 192.168.1.135:80 User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 Connection: Close Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-Length: 0

I'm trying to get my Voice announcement hardware (Raspberry Pi and HiFiBerry) working again after a hardware failure. I restored the hardware, settings, and sounds, but the Test button is greyed out on my Network Resouces page for all resources. I tried running the resources in the Portal, but not a sound was heard. The RPi is definitely producing sound, as it nearly deafened me when it booted up. I can also Ping the RPi successfully. My Portal errors are below. It looks like some kind of hardware issue, but I have no idea where to begin. I did enable Remote Access on OpenElec, but I'll have to check it again. Any pointers would be appreciated. Alexa not seeing ISY Motion Sensor status changes
Bill Morrow replied to Bill Morrow's topic in Amazon Echo
Disabling the routines got at least one sensor working, but I'm not sure on how many devices. Another sensor says it's been active for 21 hours, maybe it's got a resident spider. The damn thing is only 22 years old, what happened to quality? LOL. I do have spares, since the sun is hard on the plastic mounts. The next issue is one AirThings thermometer works and the other does not. It had a name conflict, but renaming it and re-enabling it did not help. -

It actually spoke once today. Wow Have you guys been praying for Alexa? LOL. -
Alexa not seeing ISY Motion Sensor status changes
Bill Morrow replied to Bill Morrow's topic in Amazon Echo
I'm using Optex LX402 sensors with a Smartenit EZIO-8 to send signals to my ISY. I was originally using a Raspberry Pi and HiFi Berry as my voice announcement system via network resources. But the entire Pi/Berry died once and restoring the image didn't resurrect it this time. I I didn't feel like shelling out for a new Pi/ Berry again, so I switched to Alexa a while back. This worked more or less OK in the beginning, but has pretty much stopped working now. I know the hardware is working, as the motion sensors are still controlling my lights. I checked my motion sensors in the portal and Alexa sees them, they also appear in my Alexa App. I can also still control the lights using Alexa voice commands, although she can be a little slow at times. -
Alexa not seeing ISY Motion Sensor status changes
Bill Morrow replied to Bill Morrow's topic in Amazon Echo
Because, it doesn't trigger the Alexa routine if the event doesn't fire. -
My motion sensors are seen in the portal and show up in Alexa, but the status changes are not seen. I just went out the front door and the lights came on, so I know the motion sensor is working and the ISY is seeing the event, but when I check Alexa it says there has been no activity for several days. All of the motion sensors are like this, and it's not a new problem. Any ideas?

I think it's more likely some kind of corruption issue. The issue didn't really change with the new router. A power cycle would help things with the old router too. The ISY has disappeared from the new router too. I'm sure if I power cycle it I can get it to appear again, but I still won't be able to get into the ISY. The last time I factory reset it I was able to get into the Admin Console, but as soon as I loaded my backup I was screwed again. Assuming I believed the DHCP issue, I would need a way to alter the network settings in my backup before loading it, as someone had said the backup contained the network settings.
-
☹️ OK, new router installed. ISY shows up in the Admin Console, but does not display a firmware version A power recycle on the ISY brought it to life in the router, no change in the Admin Console I can Ping the ISY, but I can't Telnet to it, I get connect failed I can't get in using the Portal because I didn't grant permission in the Console I guess I'll factory reset it tomorrow

Thanks, I'm not sure how many static IPs I have, but it's not that many. The NVR, the aquarium controllers, my voice controller, my server, my ISY and maybe a couple of others. Things like the thermostat, etc. I just leave to DHCP. I haven't changed any of these for quite some time. The router has been glitchy though, slow downloads or streaming issues, which are cured by a reboot. Real Life has been in the way for the last couple of days, so I haven't been stressing about it. I hope to get the Dream Station installed this week.
-
Yeah, the ISY has been working that way since 2013 and no new devices have been added since the trouble started. The other static devices have been around since 1998. The router has changed obviously. If I power cycle the ISY, the IP shows up for a while then disappears. If I can get back into the Admin Console I'll reset the IP settings, but I'm thinking it's the router.
-
Yeah, I'm on my 3rd power supply, one replacement on the original ISY and a new power supply on the new ISY. But the results are pretty much the same on both ISYs.
-
Thanks for the breadcrumbs. That might explain a lot. Yes, I had to replace the SD card in December. A power cycle of the ISY got me back in the last time, but it only lasts about one access before I'm locked out again.
-
Thanks for the Z-Wave info.

I have never used DHCP for my ISY and it has never had an issue. I have at least 20 static IPs for various servers and embedded devices, wth no issues. I rebooted my router twice after update, with no change in my router's clients. I'm reasonably certain that my issue is related to my ISY restore. I'm only upgrading my router, as it is reaching EOL and I'm moving to a complete Ubiquiti network. I suspect I'm going to have to rebuild my ISY from scratch, but it's really odd that a restore seems to be effecting the base code (network and Admin Console) on two separate units. I'll replace the router first, although I'm not looking forward to rebuilding the client list, port forwarding, etc.

My 'new' ISY994i ZW IR Pro arrived. I managed to get into it with the Admin Console. Although it seems a little finicky, the firmware version doesn't always load the first time and it seems a little slow to load. I was surprised that it came with firmware 5.3, as I didn't think 5.3 played well with Z-Wave. I changed my IP to match my old IP. I was able to get in after I rebooted, so I loaded my backup. Now I can't get back in again and the ISY994i no longer shows up in my router. I can't ping the IP either of course. My ideas are as follows: My backup is corrupt somehow? Although I loaded an older backup to my prior ISY with similar results It could be a router issue, since my IP no longer shows up in the router, although it was fine before 5.3. Somehow my programs are very unhappy with 5.3, although I tried going back to 4.9 on my prior ISY and that didn't help either. At least I know that my previous ISY is OK, if I could figure out the software issue. I think I'll update the router and see what happens, although I suspect it won't help. But the new router is in the job queue anyway. Any process of elimination ideas?
