from time to time mine lose time on the 994 and i have to set time manually at different houses. i have not checked on the polisy one lately. i think it was more of the thermostat version, i have not noticed it recently. have replaced a few over the years.
-
just pull off the thermostat and see if your getting 24v ac on the c and r wires

What finally happened is Michel had to go in and reconfigure my UUID and portal accounts, I think it was that previously I had a portal with the 994 and bought the Polisy with the portal and something got juggled around then to make it work. It ate up a lot of time as I tried to get it working through support and forums and it turned out it didn't matter what I did.

It was a half baked some project manager pitched to a divisional VP at nokia how they could dominate a market share using their name with no capital outlay or product engineering and the vendor takes the risk. seen it before and happens more than people think.
-
insteon technology and product development was so neglected for years it will take a long time to redesign the current line with available components let alone new product launches. or take shortcuts and get product to market faster we will see

Zooz 700 Series ZSE42 Water Leak Sensor on isy
captainc replied to GJ Software Products's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
Some of the Z wave switches I have been putting in have "Basic Scenes" when they are added. Also not a guru I don't know what they do and why some of the same switches do it and others don't but they work. -
Can anyone tell me what the custom configuration for multiple homes with multiple door openers is? the config would allow the top level homename but i need to add each hub then each door opener. It worked great with PG2 and I am migrating the polisy to PG3 for everything now and can't figure it out now. update - i deleted the purchase and reinstalled MyQ and this time it did discover all the hubs and openers.
-
i had a few pg2 with the 994 connected to the polisy pro, all that worked great. transitioning to the polisy stand alone, the insteon transitioned perfect (unbelievable) and obviously the z waves i am adding back in fine. between chrome and norton i will have to keep trying to get it connected. its just the dialog box that flashes which would tell me what the issue is so fast its impossible. i just have to keep plugging away
-
i tried turning off norton and even used microsoft edge with no success. portal license expires in a year. i attached the log for the last try. i can see it appears to be communicating but i don't understand the details. this red message that pops up "failed to get purchased node servers" seems to be the root issue thanks pg3.pdf
-
I started the topic, didn't see it anywhere else. deleted the PG2 nodes Just upgraded to PG3 and start to purchase MyQ node and get the red dialog box -"failed to get purchased node servers" I click the purchase button and get the Install Myq and click purchase, something flashes so fast can't read and just goes back to the Node server store. It won't direct me to where i have to go to pay for it. any direction would be appreciated
-
thanks i got it working, now i just have to spend the afternoon re setting up all the z wave
-
I was hoping someone could tell me the connection type for Putty for SSH to connect to the Polisy. I was connected but kept getting disconnected. I took out my old 994pro offline and in the process of making the Polisy standalone so i want to upgrade to PG3. Fortran and basic programming from 45 years ago doesn't help me. thanks
-
thanks i can make one now.

have not seen this information, but moving the Insteon 994 setup to Polisy I need to install the serial cable, which of course is long gone. I need to set it up very quickly so does anyone have the pinout for the Polisy serial port to the Smarthome 2413s? much appreciated

i used the keypad template from smarthome that was available for the keypads. I will try to find one and post it if i can, it's on a cloud drive of mine somewhere. on the template i type and use a font (bold is best) and print on paper. Use a really good paper for clarity. I print out a couple of sheets and cut the little squares so they fit in the clear plastic key and pop it back on. the template has lines on where to cut. i have about 12 of these around the house and if i were to take them all out today the pain i would endure from the family would be immeasurable as they wander around the house aimlessly trying each switch not knowing what is happening. i just ordered a few of the z-wave zooz with 1 switch and 4 scene keypads, building out another house and preparing the main one for the inevitable.

Cannot determine Insteon Engine
captainc replied to Michaelv's topic in INSTEON Communications Issues
I have had the problem many times. What can help sometimes is to move the plm to another circuit preferably closer to the problem piece with a longer cat5 cable. -
actually both houses are working for the state. one was still 5.0.16 and the one working is B. i upgraded to B on the other house and the state works. probably something with insteon versions, i had to replace a couple over the years.
-
i lost heat/cool state for my insteon thermostats with the latest revision 5.0.16b. i don't remember if it worked in 16. is there anything i can do or is it lost going to the new revisions? thanks
-
Got my new plm 2413s today it is ver 2.4 versus my old one which was v2.1 after getting it set up i was able to add the 2635-222 easy on the first time. nothing else changed, it was the modem.
-
thanks for everyones input, i am going to order a new plm and use this one as a spare. see if that works. btw i got my isy z wave module for this house today to build out the locks and some other items and even though the process takes a little longer it is solid.
-
the plm are a couple of years old (that's all they last for me) and i use to have a spare for when it goes but don't now. it is v2.1 i did the factory reset a couple times on the 2635, have tried numerous outlets including the same on the plm is plugged into isy is 5.0.14
-
i got the address correct. i even took another 2635-222 out of the outlet that has worked well for a couple of years and put this one in it's place and tried to link it and it doesn't work i tried new insteon device using the address and model number, same problem did the linking on the isy admin console and then holding the set button until long beep, same problem i bought a new 2635-222 and it would not add to my isy at this house, same problem as listed previously. so i took it to my other house and that isy (same everything) it recognized it no problem so i took a 2635 from that house and brought it here so i know it has worked for a while. i did try a number of times on the linking video and that's how i got the event viewer log the problem continues with this one. it's almost like this isy won't recognize new versions of the 2635-222.
-
I am trying to add the 2635-222 and it comes back as it can't find the insteon engine. the address is 40.02.30 and i can't understand because: this unit worked at my other house that has a ton of insteon products, both using 994/IR pro 5.0.14. I have added a few other insteon items this fall including the outdoor module and installed ok. Using a Fluke 125B scope so i can see the signal and it is good, no noise. Have filterlincs all over the place, phase couplers, range extenders, etc. factory reset the 2635 below is the level 3 event viewer for trying to add: Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:02 PM : [40 2 30 ] Added to list of devices to link to ISY Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:02 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 40 02 30 0F 0D 00 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:02 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:02 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D AF 0D FF (FF) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:02 PM : [Std-Direct Nack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:02 PM : [INST-TX-I2CS] 02 62 40 02 30 1F 09 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 F6 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:02 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 1F 09 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 F6 06 LNK-ON (01) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:03 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D 2F 09 01 LNK-ON (01) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:03 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:03 PM : [LNK-BGN ] 02 64 01 00 06 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:04 PM : [LNK-STAT ] 02 53 M(01) gid=00 40.02.30 0237 48 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:04 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 40 02 30 0F 0D 00 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:04 PM : [LNK-END ] 02 65 06 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:04 PM : [Std MH ] Unexpected Ack imCmd=65 cmd1=BEEP 0x30 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:04 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:05 PM : [ Time] 19:15:07 42(0) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:05 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D AF 0D FF (FF) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:05 PM : [Std-Direct Nack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 40 02 30 0F 0D 00 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D AF 0D FF (FF) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [Std-Direct Nack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [40 2 30 0 ] Failed to add device, reason 3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [40 2 30 ] Added to list of devices to link to ISY Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 40 02 30 0F 0D 00 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:09 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:10 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D AF 0D FF (FF) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:10 PM : [Std-Direct Nack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:10 PM : [INST-TX-I2CS] 02 62 40 02 30 1F 09 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 F6 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:10 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 1F 09 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 F6 06 LNK-ON (01) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:10 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D 2F 09 01 LNK-ON (01) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:10 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:10 PM : [LNK-BGN ] 02 64 01 00 06 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:12 PM : [LNK-STAT ] 02 53 M(01) gid=00 40.02.30 0237 48 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:12 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 40 02 30 0F 0D 00 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:12 PM : [LNK-END ] 02 65 06 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:12 PM : [Std MH ] Unexpected Ack imCmd=65 cmd1=BEEP 0x30 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:12 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:12 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D AF 0D FF (FF) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:12 PM : [Std-Direct Nack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:17 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 40 02 30 0F 0D 00 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:17 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 40.02.30 0F 0D 00 06 (00) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:17 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 40.02.30 3C.49.6D AF 0D FF (FF) Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:17 PM : [Std-Direct Nack] 40.02.30-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:17 PM : [40 2 30 0 ] Failed to add device, reason 3 Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:17 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices Sat 02/09/2019 07:15:17 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices Sat 02/09/2019 07:17:57 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 4F.67.C3 3C.49.6D 05 6F 23 (23) Sat 02/09/2019 07:17:57 PM : [Std-Direct ] 4F.67.C3-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=1, Hops Left=1 any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks
