  1. Thank you, garybixler. You are correct. Wrong IP address. (I feel very foolish) So I fixed that and I still have a problem connecting to the Elk Node server. Oddly, it connects and then seconds later, disconnects. Then connects again. Here is the log file. And thank you for your help. I seem to be so close to getting this wonderful system running but I just can't seem to close the gap.
  2. I have PG3 running Version 3.0.48 and ISY Version running 5.4.1. I bought and Installed the Elk Node Server with much help. However, under Main on the Admin Console only Elk Controller shows up. When I select Elk Controller, Node server Online indicates "Connected", but ELK M1EXP Connected flips between False and True about every second. There are no Zones or Outputs under Elk Controller. When I right click Query after selecting Elk Controller I get an error message "TCP client request failed [ISY-40]". I attached JPG files showing the states of the relevant settings and logs. Any help will be deeply appreciated.
  3. Thank you, LeeG. That really helped. I believe I am on my way.
  4. Thank you LeeG. Regarding programming the ISY for the Smoke Bridge. If I want to write a program to send myself an email if a smoke detector triggers, what state in the Smoke Bridge do I look for. There seems to be only three states allowed in the Condition option for Status - Responding, On or Off. At the moment there is no current state posted for any one of the three conditions.
  5. Thank you LeeG. I gather, then, that the Bridge with address 23.50.6A is indicating that it can detect three different conditions from my smoke detectors: Smoke, CO and Low Battery? That is, when the alarms go off their signal will indicate the condition that caused the alarm as one of these three. Am I correct or am I still missing something?
  6. I have five First Alert ONELINK smoke detectors and, of course, the Insteon Smoke Bridge. I managed to link to the smoke bridge but I am not sure what the ISY Main Network panel is telling me. It looks like this: Network ISY 23.50.6A-Smoke 23.50.6A - CO2 23.50.6A-Low Bat Has anyone any experience setting up these devices with the ISY and if so, can you tell me what these entries mean? i.e. am I looking at one smoke detector or three of the five? How can I determine which entry corresponds to which smoke detector?
  7. Good tip, Brian; powering up the PLM before the ISY. I will try that. Michael, you make a good point regarding the PLM. As the PLM is a single point of failure, I bought a second unit and will test one against the other to see if one links more quickly than the other. I will also test power failure.
  8. Thank you Michel. You are correct. I have the Z series. I solved the problem. It turns out that the ISY and PLM have trouble finding one another when they are initially installed. However, if I unplug the PLM for about 10 seconds, then re-plug it - and do the same for the ISY immediately after, the two devices communicate and all is well. So far the connection has been reliable. So, it seems that the initialization process has problems. Is that a characteristic of the Z series? FYI it would be helpful if the error message that pops up when the PLM does not connect (Authentication Failed) was a little more specific.
  9. I just installed my brand new ISY 994i/IR PRO v 3.3.10 and a PowerLinc Modem type 2413S PLM. I also installed the Universal Devices Admin Console and was able to Configure the location and time for the ISY. I want to use the ISY to control Insteon devices. I plugged two ApplianceLinc modules type 2456S3 to un-switched wall sockets in the house and plugged a lamp into each one. I tried linking to the ApplianceLinc modules following the installation instructions but the ISY fails to find them. When I click on "Start Linking" I do not get a "Linking in Progress" pop-up. When I pull up Tools-Diagnostics- PLM Info/Status I receive an error message "Authentication Failed" Tools-Diagnostics-System Status indicates an Active System and reports 880 MB free. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
