  1. I understand how I would invoke the skill, I'm just wondering what is really added by going through the isy skill instead of the native connected home functionality where the invocation to issy is not required. What do I get by using the skill that alexa can't do on her own already?
  2. I'm finding I have reliability issues with what Alexa will understand. One moment she can respond to a command, say "alexa, turn on tub", and work just fine, moments later the same command isn't recognized and she finds no device named tub (or bathtub, etc), or will find multiple instances of "bathroom", etc. I do have the isy skill installed, as well as the home connect function, which may be the conflict, but I've never actually had to say "alexa, tell izzy...". Am I causing unnecessary complexity with the skill and should just remove it? What exactly, if anything, is going to be lost by dropping the skill?
  3. I seem to be overlooking something. I've signed into the echo/alexa page I've clicked the link to link alexa to isy, which shows as successful, and ISY shows up on the connected home page I've authorized the portal in the ISY When I try to select the echo "tool" from the isy portal page I get an error: "Your portal user profile is not linked to an Amazon account. This will prevent you from using the Alexa Connected Home. To link your account, please go to My profile. Furthermore, the ISY skill is not linked to your portal user profile. Please go to your echo app, enable the ISY skill, and link the skill with this user profile." Is it possible this is coming up because there is a different name (my business name) showing up in the ISY admin portal authentication vs what is showing on the echo? Everything including my amazon account are under the same email address and all are on the same LAN.
  4. Thanks for clarifying. I have no problem buying the portal, but noticed it mentioned that the mobilinc plugin would no longer work. I don't' actually seem to have the mobilinc plugin active on my isy account, but I do have the paid mobilinc app on my ios devices, currently working fine. IF I purchase the isy portal, does that mean by mobilinc would no longer function? That is my preferred method of controlling things remotely, and having to choose between it and the echo is not something I'm looking forward to.
  5. I've been following the emulator threads closely, but would prefer to use the integrated version. I've gotten through step 3, however upon attempting discovery, nothing happens. Is something needed to provide user/pw login to the echo to authenticate with the isy? Or do I need to purchase some other plugin for the isy to authorize echo access? I have the 994pro/ir model, is the network module required?
  6. Can you just transfer the micro SSD card from an i99 to i994, rather than having to backup, restore, etc?
