  1. As for Telnet, I'll have to open up Port 23 on my router. Working that now.
  2. That will have to wait until I'm by the device. Thanks! I'm actually pretty experienced with Insteon, but still learning the differences between HomeLinc where I initially set up my mesh. About the links. I migrated to the ISY from HomeLinc software. When I added it, it read in the existing topology and I was able to give the scenes names and not numbers, but generally manage only the scenes. With HomeLinc, you could drag a responder to a controller and create a link. You didn't have to put devices into linking mode (or at least that is how they made it look). In UD's Admin Console, the drag drop only works for scenes. I was looking for a way to link to devices remotely and got myself into this situation. Everything was fine until I replaced a KeyLinc, but that is a story from another thread.
  3. Folks, I accidentally linked the Link Management -> Start Linking to see what it was about (the ISY read in direct links from previous software management so I've only had to manage scenes up to now). And I didn't see a way to cancel! So, before I started I shut down the Administration Console and when I logged back in the system status is Linking. I can't get it to stop. I am remote from the device. How do I interrupt and reset the process? It just tries to write to the PLM and this has been going on for hours. -Scott
  4. Thanks Lee, I think I'm getting this now. So on the HTML interface, I can check the status of a scene by looking at the status of the KeypadLinc's associated responder. Q1) Is there a way to check the status of a scene without checking the status of a responder, or looking at each controlled device in that scene (group) with the HTML interface? I know I can do this from the admin console. Q2) As shown in the new GIF, the folder has three buttons, they don't seem operative, but other collapsed views (the ISY for example) they are operative. Is this by design? Or have I been staring at this too long? Your comment that secondary KeypadLinc buttons cannot be turned On/Off with direct Insteon commands has me wondering what I see on the HomeLinc software. Perhaps they are just controlling the scene under the covers, and the button is the responder. I updated to Firmware 4.0.5 on the ISY before reading the network. I'll look at things on HomeLinc and compare. I have over 30 devices and took care to write everything I saw on the switch in the notes so I know which of the switches are oldest. I have some of the first ICON and SwitchLincs made, but slowly rotating them out (they had almost no information on them).
  5. I think I created a monster. Since the EZserve is end of support, I decided the buy a 8-button keypadlinc and set up several of the buttons with the scenes the EZserve handled. I did this so I would have quick local control if things didn't work (The EZserv would lock up from time to time) and make it easy to migrate to a new controller (the ISY). I set up the ISY and decided to add the Keypadlinc thinking that it would import just the links that were defined on it. I clicked the third option to preserve the links when adding the device. Boy was I in for a surprise. The ISY walked the entire mesh and I ended up with links to what seems like every device in my house. The Homelinc software was used to ensure I didn't have orphan links from old devices before starting. I then set up programs to toggle each of the buttons, therefore controlling the scenes. Questions/problems are are: 1) The imported buttons are controllers and responders for the scene. But as shown in the GIF, both on and off are "active". How can I fix this so I can remotely activate a scene as I would with a button press. I understand I can "test" the scenes, but would like to be able to activate the buttons remotely. 2) Other buttons (scene controllers) of Keypadlincs show only as an ON state and I get an error loading nodes message when I use the HTML-based device list. 3) Three or Four devices would not import because ISY couldn't determine the engine, or device is unsupported. Is there a level of ICON or Switchlinc not supported? 10,000 thanks. Don't mind doing more reading if you point me to where this is covered.
