  1. Dot plugged into Sonos, Sonos in each room....I can access/play Amazon music, Pandora, my library, ...i.e. anything, any playlist just by asking.. working extremely well love it. Can fully control the system either with Sonos commands to any echo or dot in the house, or controlling the specific Amazon / Dot native commands in the room where the dot is plugged into the Sonos. In the morning my wife puts on the local AM talk radio station as she's getting dressed in the bathroom... virtually perfect for what we use it for. Pandora playlists work well and the Echo accepts and modifies songs that I give a thumbs up or down to. Plus, as a longtime Sonos user, it's put new life into the system and I don't have to worry if my music server is on b/c I've loaded my core songs to the Amazon cloud anyway...
  2. additionally, try asking Alexa to "set fan to 25%, for medium use 60%. Since there are three speeds you're trying to get close to 33% 66% and 99% etc.... Beyond using the scene settings this has been reliable in my setup.
  3. Exactly as above ....
  4. 1) was ISY down- No 2 was echo down NO, however ISY commands showed up but wouldn't accept 3) Not using Mobilinc

Cleared my local Cache via my local web access and that seems to be helping. Working. I went back to the portal and it is now talking to ISY Cache clear was just timing then. Thanks

Suspect it's a portal issue because I cant access the ISY configuration via portal, so don't think it's an Amazon "thing"....Portal isn't talking to ISY.

Yup, same here. I have local access and Echo even "discovers" devices, however when I go to Web Access via portal, it sticks on Loading config
  9. Portal Down in Dallas too.... Now I actually have to get out of my chair to find the remote to "turn stuff on".....what's this world coming to

Rebooted, web interface comes up but can't find or talk to ISY Anyone else?
  11. Teken Quick correction, I do have some "hum". I was listening to Sonos in a different room, wifi enabled Sonos must have filtered out the noise. Not sure it sounds exactly like a grounding hum, but something may be there. I'll try a different Sonos to plug into this week. Yup, overall the Echo worked well and the DOT actually has a broader functionality for me and I feel it's a decent value. Ordered a second one but shipping is 90 days out. Best of luck
  12. Have not notice any hiss at all. Plugged into multiple items, Sonos Pre-amp into vintage Sony Receiver as the amp. Sonos power amp, even tried using two Single Ended Triode tube amps and my preamp for grins.... Sonos working well throughout the house playing Amazon Prime or My Amazon playlists. Interestingly since my fist Echo is setup to control Sonos volume and basic playback, I these functions even though DOT is supplying music stream to Sonos. So even though the dot is in a different room, Echo can control the volume, pause, play and basic functions, but Dot is controlling the music selection and playback.
  13. Finished setting up the DOT....I'm thinking..."it can't be this easy!" Plugged one of my Sonos AMPs into the DOT out and NOW I have voice control and music, voice confirmation throughout the house via Sonos mesh network. I thought I would run into issues with home automation, all the Insteon devices, programs and scenes work exactly as they do through the Echo. Hoping to prevent issues, I did name the DOT differently, so only one device answers at a time. I uploaded my music library to Prime and pulled it into to Sonos, so now I have voice command access to my legacy music as well as Prime music. It's sort of interesting to here the dot respond through the Sonos network throughout the house. Just ordered a second DOT, but looks like deliver will be in July....
  14. This response is way late, but I'll respond anyway. I don't use all of the IR commands, only the frequently used and more practical commands, like Pause, Play, Record etc.. Others on this form have done the heavy lifting (thanks again for those that came before me) and I just imported the Tivo IR commands and use an Insteon IR Transmitter for the actual TV (just need on off etc.) . I then imported the Sonos information from the forum and modified IP address as needed. The Tivo and TV are super simple, the Sonos took a bit of fiddling, but not too much time. Programs only took about 5-10 minutes as they are straight forward. The hardest part was modifying and a trial and error process for the Echo naming convention.
  15. I don't have direct answers, however the "native" commands Echo uses should be avoided when using the Portal or other linked devices. I believe there is a list on this forum. I don't use "the" in the naming convention, however like yourself use it when speaking to Echo without issue. For TV I use commands like, Local NBC or Local News using a prefix that separates the command from tune-in etc instead of channel. I have 85 device commands linked with virtually no lag and no problems as of now, so I'm not sure what the limit is or would be. I have found that some commands can be used to toggle things like turn on TV, I then have the option to remove the corresponding command and just use the toggle feature. I'm taking advantage of Echo Groups for great functionality. I use a combination of ISY Scenes and created groups in Echo. As an example I have all of my family room lights in the system and created a "downstairs" Echo group. I can ask Echo to turn these on 25, 30 or 50% etc... I also have ISY scenes that give me a similar but more rigid preset result. So I'm using a combination of both ISY functions and Echo for great control. Probably not a complete answer, but I hope it gives you some ideas.
