  1. First thing I would check is your router to confirm there isn't a IP conflict in case other appliances are set to DHCP. If you find nothing obvious you can follow the WiKi to select one of several options for the controller. Regardless of what method you select please do ensure you have a known *proven* back up in case its needed.

At this juncture you need to order a 2413S PLM to solve the primary issue . . .

I will review it all again. DHCP stops dishing out IP's at .100, as I have i configured. So, nothing should be on .203 but I will see if something went nutty. When you say wiki and select an option, what exactly do you mean? Like some wiki article?

  2. Normally no, but since you indicated the port / IP is changing I would verify what address this unit is on the network. If you have a controller that is set to DHCP a IP conflict could ensue.

The IP is not DHCP, it's set to 192.168.1.203

When I was able to get logged in, I discovered the port was switched back to 80, not 203. Nothing was working, but the admin console loaded once I figured out it wasn't on port 203

Right now, I can ping the ip and it replies

    But, the dashboard won't load.

  3. Got home last night and noticed none of the outdoor lights were on .. which are triggered by a program in my ISY. I can't access the ISY .. so, I reboot it (unplug power). It comes back online, but still isn't working ..  and to make things stranger, the network port defaulted to 80 when it SHOULD be 203 ..

I was able to ping the IP, so on a whim I tried to access without the network port (192.168.1.203) and it was fine. Usually, I must hit 192.168.1.203:203.

Once logged in, said it was operating in safe mode and couldn't communicate with the PLM.

Any ideas? I don't want to start playing with it until I get any feedback. Really confused how in network settings the port went back to 80. System has been online over 2 years.

  4. Ok .. here is my question. I have my primary house with an ISY 994i and an echo hooked up. I use the echo to control tons of lights, etc.

We have a beach place with an amazon echo as well. I have it linked to the same amazon account, as you can manage multiple echos.

But .. I'm curious, in doing this, I only have 1 Alexa page .. each echo is listed under my "Alexa Devices" page.

So, if I go to Smart Home, within the Alex page, how would I handle "turn kitchen lights on". Would I have to sync the new ISY, to the second echo, and make commands unique like "turn beach house kitchen lights on"?

Hope I am making sense here.

  5. Figured I would give an update on this. It's awesome .. I've recently moved to the ISY Portal, which gives me IFTTT web services calls. So .. I'm using this sonos integration to do a few things:

    1. For my wife .. if a fitbit goal isn't met by 8:30pm, it plays a song on a specific speaker .. a bit of motivation if you want to hit a goal before you go to bed

    2. For me .. if my ring doorbell is rung, it plays an audible chime on all speakers

    3. Vacation mode .. if we leave house, sensors pickup motion, it will play a specific audio

    For #1 and #2 it's basically IFTTT + ISY Portal + Events ..

    Pretty awesome.

  6. I have configured my ISY Portal to leverage IFTTT. I've configured it so if my ring doorbell is pressed, it created the web services call via IFTTT to turn an outlet on. My thought is, on this outlet, enable some type of "chime". So, when chime is powered, it will make a noise. I have existing doorbell/chime or wiring for it.

Any thoughts on how to do this?

I hoped to make it turn Sonos on or something, but it seems that isn't possible with the way IFTTT works with ISY Portal as it can only turn a device on.

  7. That depends how the MS is configured. Put the MS in linking mode, select it in the ISY admin and select options. Using a MS seems simple, but there are a alot of different ways to control things with them. Search the forum or twiki and you'll see a lot of discussions.

Of course I got the dang thing mounted already. Do you know what the default is? E-amils are working fine.

  8. Hi! I just configured this to turn on a lamp, in the entryway, when the motion sensor kicks on. My question is, if someone walks in the house, the sensor detects them. How long does it say "on" until it goes to "off mode".

I have a program setup to turn lamp ON if motion sensor is ON, otherwise, OFF. I'm hoping it's like 30 seconds or so .. so lamp stays on for a moment until more motion is detected.

  9. I just bought another one and did the same. All this year I've been running this hardwired to monitor the temp of my reef aquarium, no issues. I use it mainly to ensure if temp drops below 74' I get an email/text.  But, I wanted to set one up to monitor temperature outside to control some things. I wanted to share, I discovered the ISY will only update if it's a 2' swing. So, you must hardwire this into a power brick to ensure it always pings.

  10. Ok .. here is what I have:

    2 Insteon Wireless Thermostats

Used solely to monitor temp of some rooms

I log into the general "ISY Dashboard" (/WEB/udajax.htm) and click "My devices". I see everything, including the 2 thermostats. But, on these pages, it never shows what the thermostat is reading

I open up Mobillinc, and I get the actual reading of the thermostat

Inside of ISY Admin, I see no reading of temperature

    2 Questions:

    1.  How come I can only see the temp on Mobilinc for the 1 thermostat? I'm ofen on a laptop and like the /WEB/udajax.htm page

    2.  It's only showing the temperature of 1 thermostat inside of mobillinc. The other is blank

    Any advice?

  11. Yes, I used them in each zone until I updated to the Insteon branded thermostat. The upgrade was exclusively for appearance. The Venstar has a host of features that the Insteon thermostat doesn't.

Do you have at least 5-wire at your current thermostat?

Going to look at wires tomorrow and will probably seek advice.

Is it true the Insteon's don't work on heat pumps?

  12. I am confused by all this as well. I have an older trane unit with a honeywell 7 day programmable thermostat now. I was going to put an Insteon on it, to use off the ISY, but read that the Insteon one doesn't work with a heat pump?

  13. For the past year I've been trying to figure out what to do. I want a thermostat to run off my ISY. So, I can have it adjust based on programs, etc.

It's my understanding the Insteon Thermostats do't work on heat pumps.

    I like the Venstart T5800 (http://www.smarthome.com/venstar-t5800-colortouch-multi-functional-programmable-touch-screen-thermostat.html?p=2#reviews)

And told I must get this to go with it: http://www.smarthome.com/venstar-acc0454-skyport-wi-fi-key-for-colortouch-thermostats.html

    I want to:

    1. Program it 100% from ISY

    2. Control remotely via mobilinc

    3. Use on programs

    Could the Venstar work?

I've read a lot of bad reviews about it ..

    Just looking for input.

  14. I am trying to setup Sonos on my ISY. I want to create a program that starts up and plays a pandora channel. Another that cuts sonos off.  I read another thread and got some items working, but looking for some guidance/support. Anyone willing to help?

  15. Your title mentions an ISY99i? The Z-Wave add-on goes inside a ISY994i.

Yes, I have an ISY99i. Currently, I only use Insteon products and new to this. I don't know how I woiuld program the Vivinit ZWave items. They also still talk to the security thing on the wall, but that is not activated with the alarm company.
