  1. Can you login to your REST API for your ISY and show me what a Z-wave device looks like? http://192.168.1.20:8200/rest/nodesfor example is my ISY URL, port, and the path and it will list out all of your devices. Paste me what a zwave one looks like. I will try a custom code fix and send it to you for testing if you are up for it. The siri thing I do not think will work until 9.0 but I could be wrong.
  2. Not sure how FreeBSD may differ. The packages may not be as up to date. Avahi is what is used for Bonjour service which apple uses, and the error code you are getting has to do with DNS. From what I have found this may mean the mdns service is not started, so I would focus around checking libavahi
  3. What command are you trying to run when you get this? This looks like an issue with node and openssl. I would make sure you update and get the latest node version.
  4. it is a SwitchLinc Dimmer controlling a single light - LED, max 15 watts. Light has worked for 1 year prior, and many lights similar to it have as well.
  5. Thanks Michel. Would like to hear if anybody got it working, and any issues they had. I am still working on it.
  6. Only one light in my house has been having issues - my front porch light. Starting about 2 weeks ago it starts flickering off and on continuously. If I force it off, it goes off, but may come back on and start doing this again (not flickering, i mean literally off, on, off, on). I opened the event viewer and 1 & 3 and nothing is being sent while this is happening. I do have a camera that calls the REST API to turn it on when motion is detected, but the camera is not detecting motion. I also stopped the service that should be calling this and so it should stop, but it doesn't. Also I would expect to see something in the event viewer? I am at a loss - any ideas?
  7. I have just committed a change to the HomeBridge project which builds off the wonderful reverse engineer HomeKit protocol work that was done for HAPNode-JS. The HomeBridge allows you to define a platform to iterate through and automatically add devices to communicate with. https://github.com/nfarina/homebridge I have this working on a Raspberry Pi 2 - my basic steps were to 1. apt-get install nodejs 2. apt-get install build-essential 3. apt-get install libavahi-compat-libdnssd-dev 4. git clone homebridge (follow installation instructions on the page) 5. modify the config-sample.json and copy to config.json 6. run "npm run start" I hit a couple snags along the way. For example, I hit this error and used the solution that was proposed: https://github.com/stephen/nodetunes/issues/28 Please try it out - I can say "Turn on Front Porch light" and siri will turn it on. I can say "turn on great room lights to 50" to turn it to 50% (I used % rather than ISY's concept of 0-255). If you get stuck or have any feedback let me know. I am working on more features, trying to get status updates back, and get garage door working. Rayzor
  8. I'm just going to have to go through and unplug and test as someone else mentioned. My whole house is LED lights but it has always been.
  9. Do I do this from the OutletLinc or the IOLinc? If I do it from the IOLinc it just opens the garage door, and no devices in the house blink. If I do it from the OutletLinc, some devices in my house blink green, some blink red as suspected. However, the IOLinc does not blink at all.
  10. Here I captured the failure of the IOLinc when I click 'On' in ISYAdmin Console every once in a while: Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:43 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 11 02 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:43 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 11 02 06 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:44 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 11 02 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:44 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:44 PM : [D2D EVENT ] Event [2B F8 FE 1] [ERR] [0] uom=0 prec=-1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:44 PM : [ 2B F8 FE 1] ERR 0 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:49 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 11 02 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:49 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 11 02 06 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:50 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 11 02 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:50 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:50 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 23 11 02 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:50 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=0 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:54 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 11 02 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:54 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 11 02 06 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:56 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 11 02 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:56 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:57 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 11 02 Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:57 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 11 02 06 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:59 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 23 11 02 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:23:59 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=0 Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:02 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 11 02 Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:02 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 11 02 06 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:03 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 2B 11 02 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:03 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:09 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 11 02 Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:09 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 11 02 06 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:09 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 11 02 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:09 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:12 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 11 02 Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:12 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 11 02 06 LTONRR (02) Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:16 PM : [D2D EVENT ] Event [2B F8 FE 1] [ERR] [1] uom=0 prec=-1 Tue 02/24/2015 05:24:16 PM : [ 2B F8 FE 1] ERR 1 Is that helpful to understand why it failed?
  11. So out of curiosity, I am surprised that communication could be bad. When I consider my garage, there is about 15 feet between where I have the IO Linc plugged in to the Panel, and about 20 feet between the panel and the OutletLinc, so a total of 35 feet of electrical line between the two devices (I still have pictures of my house wired before insulation/sheetrock got put on to verify). Isn't 35 feet close enough that this shouldn't be a concern? I have many other devices in the house that I know are more than 50 feet of line in between the 2 devices and I have never had an issue. Or does the OutletLinc not rebroadcast the signal sent by the IOLinc over the powerline?
  12. What?! When I bought this it read that it is both Powerline and RF and checking the specs now mentions it: RF Beacon Yes Radio Frequency 915.0 MHz US/Canada Radio Frequency Range Up to 250 feet
  13. Yes most of the time it says Hops Left=1 but every couple of queries it says Hops Left=0. Any idea why one time it would have 1 and the next it would have 0? I actually have an INSTEON 2663-222 ON/OFF OUTLET, WHITE on a different circuit in the garage, and it is literally 2 inches away from an outlet on the same circuit. Rather than purchasing the range extender, would it make more sense to just plug the IOLinc in the outlet next to the 2663-222 On/Off Outlet? Here is what I see when it goes to 0 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:07 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 19 01 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:07 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 19 01 06 LTSREQ (01) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:08 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 00 01 (01) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:08 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:08 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 19 00 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:08 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 19 00 06 LTSREQ (LIGHT) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 00 00 (00) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [D2D EVENT ] Event [2B F8 FE 2] [ST] [0] uom=0 prec=-1 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [ 2B F8 FE 2] ST 0 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [D2D-CMP 0008] STS [2B F8 FE 2] ST op=1 Event(val=0 uom=0 prec=-1) is Condition(val=255 uom=0 prec=-1) --> false Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [D2D-CMP 0008] STS [2B F8 FE 2] ST op=1 Event(val=0 uom=0 prec=-1) is Condition(val=0 uom=0 prec=-1) --> true Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 23 00 00 (00) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=0 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:10 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 19 01 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:11 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 19 01 06 LTSREQ (01) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:11 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 00 01 (01) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:11 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:11 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 2B F8 FE 0F 19 00 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:11 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 2B.F8.FE 0F 19 00 06 LTSREQ (LIGHT) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:12 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 27 00 00 (00) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:12 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:12 PM : [INST-SRX ] 02 50 2B.F8.FE 2A.A2.D3 23 00 00 (00) Tue 02/24/2015 04:44:12 PM : [Std-Direct Ack] 2B.F8.FE-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=0
  14. The IOLinc is plugged into the same outlet as the opener. It has always been this way and has worked for 6 months in the past until just recently. Nothing else is plugged into that outlet. Not sure about the circuit, but nothing has changed recently either. I know this is no guarantee obviously. I will try unplugging the IOLinc for a few and plug it back in and see if it helps.
  15. I've had the Insteon Garage Door Switch/Relay/Sensor setup for a while. Recently, the ISY is reporting communication failures with it. If I Query the device it responds with no issues. Most of the time it works. It also seems that rarely the scene gets out of sync and a Query fixes it as well. is the garage door module going bad? Should I request a replacement from Smarthome?
  16. I simply changed it to run the 'Alarm Status' and it works. If Control 'Keypad - Alarm' is switched On And Control 'Keypad - Alarm' is not switched Off Then Set Elk Area 'Home' Arm Night Instant Else Run Program 'Alarm Status' (If)
  17. Tried adding that with no luck. Is it possible that the 'Query' doesn't trigger the first program in some way? The light is set correctly when Arming/Disarming every other way (Security Keypad, Via Mobile Phone App, etc..). I just don't want the light to turn off when I press the key unless it really is disarmed?
  18. Hi, I have a button on my KeypadLinc labeled 'Alarm'. I added this to a new Scene called 'AlarmScene' When the Elk is Armed, I want the button to be On (I replaced it with a red LED for effect). To accomplish what I want, I wrote a simple program If Elk Area 'Home' 'Armed State' is not Disarmed Then Set Scene 'AlarmScene' On Else Set Scene 'AlarmScene' Off I also want to be able to Turn ON the alarm by pressing the button, but not turn it off. To do this I wrote this program If Control 'Keypad - Alarm' is switched On Then Set Elk Area 'Home' Arm Night Instant Else Set Elk Area 'Home' Query My problem is that when I press the button on the KeypadLinc itself, it turns the button 'Off' and the Query is not turning it back On. Any idea the best way to set this up?
  19. I've read through that - to keep WAF I can't have it visible (behind the dryer is fine). I don't really like the idea of the TriggerLinc as I don't want to open up the front panel and replace the battery every x months. I also don't want messages on my insteon network every 1 second as the drum spins. About the only thing I liked is somebody asked if there is some type of vibration sensor that can trigger the IOLinc - but I haven't seen any response to what type of vibration sensor would provide this. I've also read the through utilizing the CT-800 and I can't find where any of those are sold nowadays.
  20. I am pretty handy with electricity but I am wondering if anybody has attempted this and might know what to do. I was thinking of opening up the SynchroLinc and tying the hot wire to the 110 line that powers the drum for the dryer to detect when the dryer shuts off after a cycle, and of course it is a 4 wire so tie the neutral line in as usual. If anybody has thought or attempted this or has any advice against, would appreciate it.
  21. You must have a newer Garage door kit from smarthome. The newer kits ship with a normally open reed switch whereas the older kits shipped with a dual contact switch (NO/NC) and we had our choice with On when Open or On when Closed depending on how we wired the switch. Most of us seem to prefer On = Open. The best thing to do here is replace the reed switch with:http://www.smarthome.com/7455B/SECO-LARM-Enforcer-SM-226L-3-Magnetic-Garage-Door-Contact-Switch/p.aspx and wire the black/red in place of your current switch. Trigger reverse will appear to do what you want until you query the IOLinc or the 3AM query runs. When queried the IOLinc returns the ACTUAL sensor status rather than the Trigger Reversed status. This will throw off your status in ML and any scenes/programs driven by the IOLinc sensor. Hope this helps. -Xathros I really don't want to purchase another reed - not to mention the mounting type is different (mine is at the top of the door and I would not want to mount it on the bottom of the door). Modifying the programs isn't a big deal - the 3AM query to check status, can I run another step in that program (or a different program) that updates it back to the 'fake' status after?

I mean - they sell it specifically as a garage door kit, and I am sure nobody "normally" leaves their garage door open.
  23. I have this model : http://www.smarthome.com/74551/I-O-Linc ... Kit/p.aspx The garage door when closed reports as ON. When open of course it reports as OFF. However, it seems that in Mobilinc and ISY ON is Red, and Off is Green. It seems like Red should mean Open and Green should mean closed. I am sure it is subject to some preference, but how do others have theirs setup? I assume I change it by selecting Trigger Reverse on the sensor?
  24. Yep, working now! Thanks for your help. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve the documentation, I'd love to hear about it. I know it's lacking some things and due for a rewrite, especially with all the features I've introduced. Also, rayzor, if you have any features that you'd like, feel free to ask. It looks like you updated it already - but as somebody new to EG and ISY I couldn't figure out that you need the number of the variable, not the name, so I would suggest putting that in the documentation as well
