  1. Hi there, Before in basement I had a IOLinc with current sensor connected to it, and I had a program that notified us whenever Dryer finish drying. Recently I extended my ELK system down to the basement and connected current sensor to zone 19. I would like get rid of IOLinc and modify the program below to work based on Zone 19. Any suggestions? Dryer - [iD 002B][Parent 0010] If Control DRYER_IO_SENSOR is switched Off And Control DRYER_IO_SENSOR is not switched On Then Set Elk Speak Phrase 'Miscellaneous 2 ' Send Notification to 'Marcin' content 'LAUNDRY - DRYING CYCLE COMPLETED' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I was thinking about creating two separate programs first one set variable to 1 if zone 19 is violated (Meaning the dryer is on) Dryer Elk - [iD 001B][Parent 0010] If Elk Zone 'DRYER SENSOR' is Violated Then $Dryer_Sensor += 1 Else $Dryer_Sensor Init To 0 Second program (once dryer finished drying to notify us) Dryer Elk Notify - [iD 0011][Parent 0010] If $Dryer_Sensor is not 1 And $Dryer_Sensor is 0 Then Set Elk Speak Phrase 'Miscellaneous 2 ' Send Notification to 'Marcin' content 'LAUNDRY - DRYING CYCLE COMPLETED' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Unfortunately this did not produced required results. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  2. stmrocket I just sent you PM.
  3. And thank you so much stmrocket for the template, I'm so happy that I don't have to do first cuts on cut board LOL.
  4. Let me know when you will have revised version. Now I need to find myself a 3D printer or does anybody knows a service that can print those for me?
  5. If you don't mind me asking what kind of 3D Printer do you have?
  6. Amazing! Once you will have it printed can you please post pictures?
  7. I just received my new Laser Engraver (http://www.ebay.com/itm/361612651887?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) I will let you know how this one performs.
  8. What I found was that once you will set a template correctly you won't have alignment issues. I would love to get a GLOWFORGE but it's really hard to justify spending $2,395.00 for Keypad Buttons. I attended the demo few months ago and I was truly impressed, you can actually micro adjust the laser output. There is whole bunch of laser engravers with bigger trays etc, but like I said before I cannot justify spending more than $200.00 for machine because I don't have any other use for it.
  9. I'm really happy with my buttons, paint filler did not wear off after constant use. Now looking back I wish I would get engraver with bigger tray, I would love to make few buttons at one time. But so far so good.
  10. I agree I could use step by step instruction "Raspberry Pi-Polygut"
  11. 4 or 5 depending on your cardstock. But if it won't go thru completely you can use hoppy knive to finish cutting.

    KPL and Status

I have a question I could not find anything related to this although I’m pretty sure I may have missed some posts. I have a garage with Two Switches (On\Off) and Outdoor Module (On\Off module). One switch controls Garage 1, other switch Garage 2. Garage 2 Switch is also controlling Outdoor Module with LED strip lights connected to it. Garage 2 and LED Lights are linked thru the Scene in ISY called Garage 2 Lights, where Garage 2 Switch is a Controller for LED lights. Anytime when you turn switch On main light turns on and LED lights turn on – which is what I want. We also have a KPL button that I would like to light up if any of the lights Garage 1, Garage 2 and LED Strip are on, and then have an ability to turn off the lights from the keypad button. What I did was I created four scenes: 1st Scene: Garage 1 is controller for KPL Button 2nd Scene: LED Strip is controller for KPL Button 3rd Scene: KPL Button is a controller for Garage 1 and LED Strip 4th Scene: Garage 2 is controller for KPL Button – that did not worked out since Grage2 is already a controller to LED strip lights. I’m very lost in here.
  13. 1) Remove the protective film from the button 2) Before applying green tape make sure there is no dust on the buttons, apply green laser tape to the button 3) Using a pencil eraser (or squeegee) remove any air bubbles 4) Press green laser tape far end corner to your cutting or hobby board. Using xacto knife gently lift the clear protection film from the green laser tape. 5) Place button onto the template check alignment \ placement 6) Engrave away…. 7) Remove button from the laser engraver and apply the paint Make sure to evenly spread the paint throughout all the engraved area 9) If you are making a button with two colors wait for the first color to dry mask off any area with first color and apply second color 10) Once paint is dry gently remove laser tape. You may have to remove additional tape using a Xacto knife as pictured below 11) Finished product This post concludes a step by step tutorial. I hope that the instructions provided were clear and everyone will have fun doing their own buttons. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know and I will do my best to help you out. One more thing… don’t forget to post your creations…. wear your safety glasses when you using a laser.
  14. I can not see your creations. Please keep us posted.... Remember alway wear safety glasses...
  15. LOL we will get flagged and deleted...
  16. LOL thats the good one! PM me with your mailing address. I will do them tomorrow. You have to post the pictures of the setup....
  17. I will look for the 3D printing company. Hopefully I can find somebody that is willing to work with me...
  18. @einstein.42(again thank you for the Sonos node) and @MWareman (Thumbs Up) Since multichannel support stable version 5 will be released soon (I hope) I very anxious to start integrating my gazzilion of sonos. I created icons for anybody (member of this forum only) to use and modify as desired. Icons can be resized and filled with color etc. Each icon consist of editable layers. Icons are in PNG format made in Fireworks.
  19. Hey everybody! Finally weekend is here and made some great progress... Somenody asked me a question if you can engrave switch paddles - and the answer is yes. it actually fits on the tray. See attached pictures. I need to came up with some sort of template to hold paddle in place to make aligning it with the engraver tray easier, rubber band and the binder clips work but since I have switches next to each other I need to be consistent as far as aligning goes. I was thinking about using 0.5 inch plywood and using a dremel or router routing a shape of the paddle and then drilling the holes for the buttons on the back. I don't have a router or dremel, I will go to HD next weekend and hopefully I can find something.... Other option that I was thinking is getting 3D scan of the paddle and 3D printing some sort of tray for it. But I don't have 3D printer. If somebody has any suggestion or ideas please let me know. Just my two cents re icons. Either way you have to be careful not violate any copyrights. It takes time to make the icons even the simple ones. If there are paid option you should purchase the icons - somebody put a lot of effort and energy in making them. If you have access to design software you can easily make few of them. You can always look for inspiration on line.
  20. Ok cool hopefully you will receive it sooner than two weeks… I hate waiting….
  21. How did they send it? DHL?
  22. PART III – designing your buttons. I realized that not many will have access to Adobe products which I pretty pricey. I figured that I will find alternate that is widely available and gives you good results. You can use MS Paint for the button creation. Here are step by step instructions how to create a washer machine icon. As alternative you may always find icons that are widely available on line for nominal fee, but creating your own will allow you to customize them, and save you few bucks in the process. In this process you will be using black color only. Whatever will be black on your drawing it will be engraved on your button. Download “BLANK.bmp” double click and that will open MS Paint, select “Resize”, in the dialog box switch from “Percentage” to “Pixels”. Confirm the settings: Horizontal to 180 and Vertical to 200 Click on “View” and turn on “Rulers”, “Gridlines” and “Status Bar” Click on Home, Shape and draw a Rectangle with the 3rd line size and we will be using only black. Your starting point should be 4 “square from left and 2 from top Draw vertical line from “Shapes” thru rectangle. Draw a circle position it on the center using gridlines, pay attention to the sizing on the status bar, once you draw it you can use arrow keys to position circle. Draw another two circles 8px x 8px and a rectangle 25px x 200px. Make sure that you will use Fill option with Solid Color and that Color 2 is black as well (Those are washer controls) position them in upper part of the washer machine. You have few options here you can either: draw few more circles in the washer machine doors or draw a straight line or draw another circle. It is completely up to you, you are only limited by your imagination, be creative…. Once you are happy with the results you can add text Arial Bold 23 or 24 . Position text in middle. Once done save your icon as PNG. Somebody mentioned that we should create on-line repository with icons and buttons so people can download designs and engrave them, I agree I think that would be very helpful. I’m not sure how to handle it, but maybe UDI can help us with little server space…. On separate note, yesterday I went with my wife shopping to the mall, and they had little crystal engraving stand (I’m pretty sure they are in every mall) so as I was waiting for my wife I asked the gentlemen at the stand if he would be willing to give or sell me little of laser masking tape – he said yes so I gave him few dollars and he gave me a roll of the green laser tape and scissors - he said cut as much as you want. Since you don’t need 100 yards of the tape that could be good alternative… BLANK.bmp
  23. Thanks Stusviewes I was thinking LaseMySceneB LOL
