  1. I have a shortcut on my desktop for admin.jnlp. Are there any command line arguments to allow automatic login? (username, password). Thanks,
  2. I was checking out the error and there are a lot of errors being recorded. The documentation does not list -170001. What is causing this and how do I fix it? Thanks, ISY Error Log.v4.2.18__Sat 2015.01.24 03.17.20 PM.txt
  3. This makes me think that something is slowing down my system. So I looked at the error log and I see a lot of errors. I need to read up on what may be causing this. 4. I tried changing the settings (3) times as you suggested and got the same results. My testing is using a program. I changed it to a scene. The 25 seconds went down to 10 seconds. That matches your results. OK, but slower than expected.
  5. I always have to put the MS in linking mode to see an accurate options (current). My options are set the same as yours. Does your ISY respond faster?
  6. I know about the linking mode. Below is the event viewer. I have a spare MS on my desk for testing. I kept waving my hand in front of the MS for a number of triggers. I get some events between the DON 1 events. Previous message ignored. Don't know what these are doing. Triggers are around the .5 timeout but a little less. All exactly (25) seconds. Could something else be causing a slow response and not the timeout at all? 7. I am running 4.2.18. I don't see any notes about 4.2.22 changing the motion sensor behavior. I tried Sensing mode both checked and unchecked - no effect. On only mode is unchecked. Timeout 0.5 minutes. Triggers program only after 30 seconds.
  8. Jumper 4 is documented to only send on commands. However the lights go out. Jumper 5 is set also. I think I found my answer. "The On Only mode: check box should be "unchecked" for the motion sensor to send On Only commands." This did the trick. The only downside is I have to wait for the timer seconds before it will trigger again. I can live with this, but will play with it a little more.
  9. Is it possible to have a motion sensor turn a scene on only? I set jumper #4 and it does not appear to do anything. All attempts, once the time expires, it turns off the lights. I know a program can do what I want, but it is slower.

    Program question

I install a ms and a toggle linc for our front door porch light. I plan to expand the scope of this program, but for now this is what I want to do. If motion is detected text me and my wife. If dark turn on the light. I don't think this can be done with one program (no nested if statements), so I have (2) programs. Problem: I triggered the MS at 11:00AM and the light went on. I don't know why. Under summary it shows the status as true. I think It should be false. Main program ------------------------------ If Status 'Front Porch / MS (DD)' is On Then Send Notification to 'Text Gary' content 'FrontDoor.Motion' Send Notification to 'Text Sandy' content 'FrontDoor.Motion' Run Program 'Front Door2' (Then Path) $FrontDoor.Triggered = 1 Else Wait 10 seconds Set 'Front Porch / Front Porch Switch' Query Set 'Front Porch / Front Porch Switch' Fast Off $FrontDoor.Triggered = 0 Sub Program ---------------------------- If From Sunset - 3 hours To Sunrise (next day) Then Set 'Front Porch / Front Porch Switch' On Else Set 'Front Porch / Front Porch Switch' Fast Off
  11. The manual is not very clear to me. I think my main problem was waiting the 4 minutes. Just removing the battery did not reduce the time. I tried the tap for blink twice and tap to come out of unlinking mode. But I don't know what the goal of this is. This process just unlinked what I just linked. It would be OK if you are not planning to use the device. In any event, your notes got me going and everything is working now. Thanks for the help.
  12. I am following the instructions found else where. "Put the Motion Sensor into linking mode using the Motion Sensor Set button. Use New INSTEON Device, enter Insteon address of Motion Sensor, Name of choice, and Auto Discover. Be sure Motion Sensor is near a Dual Band device." ISY 994i adds the device, but the linking light light does not go out. I have to remove the battery. I did this process on (2) MS's with the same results. When I do an event viewer (device) they do not show up. I also tried using link a sensor, motion sensor, but that yielded the same results. One of the sensors did work briefly, but when I tried to link it to a scene there was a symbol (looked like a binary number icon) next to the MS. I tried to use the menu Write Updates to Device, but that said this it could not communicate with the device. Very frustrating. I bought this is a package of (4). I am using on for about a month without any issues.

    Record Video

I purchased an Insteon outdoor HD camera. It appears to be a re-branded Foscam F18906W. It does not support motion sensing. This may be a dumb way to solve the problem but... I wrote a test dotnet program to view and record the video using an embedded VLC media player. Now, I am trying to figure out how to get the Insteon MS to communicate with my windows program. Is there and way to have the ISY send some kind of trigger to windows (Environment variable, trigger file, DB update, etc)? Email or sms notifications would be very awkward. Is there a better way to achieve this goal?
  14. Here is a little feedback on my progress. Smart Home messed up my order so it was a couple of weeks late. I just setup a test connection without the appliancelinc. Just the damper transformer and IO Linc. The test setup works exactly as I hoped The transformer is connected per the diagram to NO & COM on the IO Linc. When I turn the relay on, the duct closed and off opens the relay. So, I think I am all set! Just have to do the electrician and duct work.

    Setting On Levels

EricK, Great explanation. I originally did all the steps that you mentioned Except "You have to click on the red scene members (controllers) as well to set the response levels for when that controller triggers the scene." The instructional video said that setting on levels on the devices will not be remembered. It did not said you also need to the the member controllers. That said, it now works as expected! I understand what you are doing with the programs and I will experiment with that next. Thanks for the help. I am glad that it was an easy fix.
  16. I am just getting into the ISY. I have a media room with (2) KeypadLinc's and (3) lights. One directly connected to a KPL (not dimmable), one LED bulb and one SwitchLinc light. The instruction video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbkFnzBhKB4&feature=youtu.be says that you set the device levels an the scene. This does not work for me. Also, I got the impression from searching the site that this is not possible, you have to manually do it at the keypad. I hope this is wrong. The only way I could get the (2) dimmable lights to be at a different level was to create a program. If entrance > 1% Then Set LED 5% Set Ceiling light 50% Else Set 'Scene Bonus Room all lights' Fade Down Is the video wrong that you can't set the level in a scene? Or am I doing something wrong?
  17. Yes. That is what the wiring instructions call for.
  18. The computer room can get exceed 80 degrees, but usually high 70's. The bonus / media room tends to run cold. I don't remember the if hot or cold in the summer. Bedroom and bathroom is fine as is. So this would be a tweak and tailor the demand. The tailor would be for the media room only.
  19. Yes, that is the plan. See my response to io_guy. I may go in that direction. I am planning on using a NO duct.
  20. io_guy, I like what you did here and may do mine the same way. A couple of questions: I assume that the transformer is always powered on. Correct? You use the EZIO8SA to open and close connections between the transformer and each duct. Correct? You do not have an ApplianceLinc anywhere in the circuit. Correct? What are the specs and/or model of the transformer that you use. Thanks, Also, I just looked at 8-Zone sprinkler controller (Item: 31270) The outputs are ( 24V AC, 400MA. The dampers consume .25 amps (250MA). This could be an easier installation. Thoughts?
  21. Sorry I did not get back sooner. Thanksgiving My upstairs consists of (4) rooms. One bedroom converted to a computer room with many devices and a large heat load. A bonus room converted to a media center (over the garage). typically this is only used 7:00PM - 10:00PM A bedroom and a bathroom. A already added another duct and manual damper to the computer room which has helped at lot. I spend a lot of time in that room. My goal is to balance the temp better between rooms, knowing that will only help when the HVAC is pumping out air. I have been an engineer all my life and I approach projects is small bites. After the damper phase, I will look at temp sensors and possibly duct fans. I am retired and just got the ISY, so this is probably more of a hobby project rather than a big problem that needs solving. My son-in-law is an electrician, so if I need another outlet added he can do that for me. So at the moment, I am not worried about power outlets. Hope that explains my goal. Back to my original question: Most responders keep powering the transformer on and off. I don't see this in the wiring instructions. io_guy (message) uses one transformer to control ( dampers. I don't think powering the transformer on/off would work for him. This may be a good method for me and allows for future expansion. You did not respond to my simple play as to if it would work or not. As per the wiring instructions: I would plug the supplied transformer into a 110 outlet. I would use an I/O Linc 2450 to act as the switch referenced in the diagram.
  22. No, I am just not doing a good job of explaining. I am not an electrician. http://www.smarthome.com/suncourt-zc106-6-inch-diameter-normally-closed-electronic-hvac-air-duct-damper-with-power-supply.html See the wiring instructions. I would plug the supplied transformer into a 110 outlet. I would use an I/O Linc 2450 to act as the switch referenced in the diagram. This seems like it would work to me unless the I/O Linc could not handle the current. If it is a current problem, then I understand. I/O Linc - 5A @ 30 Volts (AC or DC) Transformer - 24V AC .25 amps Hope that helps.
  23. I guess that I just get it. Doesn't the transformer supply the power and all you need is a switch to turn it on / off which is what a SwitchLinc does. This works for my garage door without any ApplianceLinc.
  24. I am considering installing a number of powered air ducts like SUNCOURT ZC108 ITEM #: 307109C The SmartHome details say you need to connect the supplied transformer to an ApplianceLinc and use a SwitchLinc to control it.
